9-11 Pic Rating (how I Do It)
Don't get mad at me because I didn't rate the pic a 10. I'm not against 9-11 or anything, but I rate for quality and content. I'm not going to be overly fond of "god" references because I am not christian, and god is not a name. If the pic is small, I'm not going to rate it as high because I can't see it very well. I HAVE rated some 10's on here, because they were big enough I could see them clearly and they were well done. I just think it's really silly to get mad at me and even block me, for not getting a 10. Geez. Get over my ratings, people. :P I'm not the least bit patriotic, but I'm not against people who are.

6 years ago today at about the same time it is right now every single one of us were glued to our tv's watching as our country's heart was ripped out and handed to us in the worst way possible. 6 years ago we saw how this country can come together and unite as one to fight for what we believe in and for the safety and freedom of our country....today we are once again divided as a country and most people don't know why our friends and family are still overseas fighting and dying for us when this so called war of Bush's is no longer about 9-11.... Blitzed Out lounge- At approximately 6:25 AM this morning a ferret stumbled in to the Blitzed Out lounge. Due to the massive amount of booze consumed the night before, the lounges inhabitants didn’t notice it (except one guy who made the mistake of accusing it of cheating on him). i just saw a news report that a fourth installment of the indiana jones series will be out next spring. it will be called indiana jones and the kingdom of skulls. so what do you think? is harrison ford too long in the tooth for this, it is repeortedly the last in the series and another actor will play his son, i think quite possibly it will end up with the death of the indiana jones character and open the door to his son taking the reins, but isnt this the way hollywood does things?

Good Morning, Everyone!
A rousing good morning to one and all! It's sunshiny but cool here in Western Wisconsin! Highs in the 60s again, yay! It truly feels like Fall, my favorite time of the year. Must say we are all being made to work our issues! Dakota, my 13 year old grandson who lives with me, got a phone call last night that one of his friends from school died yesterday afternoon! He was in school last Friday, although not well - Kota says he couldn't move his arm! Apparently he had contracted encephalitis and had gone into a coma over the weekend. This is the first time Kota has experienced the death of a friend. He is taking it hard! Young people always feel rather immortal - they CAN'T die - they're invulnerable! They couldn't be more wrong, but they don't understand that until they've experienced more of life. It's painful to watch them come to that realization! No news is good news as far as Jenn goes! Remembering Sirius
Remembering Sirius On this day six years ago the world was changed forever. The victims of September 11 should never be forgotten. I'm taking this day to remember a victim who had four legs instead of two. A victim who I feel is forgotten because he wasn't a human. He was a Port Authority Police Canine. A four and a half year 90 pound yellow lab named Sirius. And the only canine officer killed in the collapse of the World Trade Center. On the morning of September 11, 2001 when the first plane hit Sirius was put in his kennel in the basement of tower 2 by his partner Officer David Lim. David told him, "Wait here boy, I'll be back for you." But sadly he never made it back for his partner. David Lim was trapped in a stairwell when the first tower collapsed. While trapped he kept repeating, "Oh no, my dog. I have to save my dog." But Officer Lim along with several others weren't rescued from the rubble for many hours. Why do the makers of Barbie make the clothes so that your 5 year old can't put them on. Why are they so tight? I can't even get them on without a struggle. Barbie's clothes need to be made so that children of all ages, including their parents, can get these clothes on without fighting and wanting to pull the head off. Also it would help if her hips were smaller, they made her boobs smaller, why can't they do the same with her hips....clothes just don't go on easy on Barbie with them hips!

Today brings us the anniversary of the September 11th attack on the U.S. It's hugely remembered for bringing down the two tallest World Trade Center buildings and a portion of the Pentegon. I lived and worked in New Jersey. The place where I worked at was only a couple of miles from the George Washington Bridge. If the view had been better, I would have been able to see the WTC from there. The morning started off the same way every other morning did. At one point, though, people started filtering into my office and mentioning that a plane had hit one of the towers. At the time I thought it was another accident involving a small plane. That would have been bad, in itself, by not a big surprise. At the time, light planes had been falling on houses. My father passed away on march 15th at 2:44 AM. He battled emphysema, cancer of the brain, lung,liver and spleen. It was horrific to be at his bed side as he took his final breaths. Sick Leave I urgently needed a few days off work,but I knew the Boss would not allow me to take leave. I thought that maybe if I acted "Crazy" he would tell me to take a few days off. I was having a conversation with my son just a few hours ago. I had asked him what he thought if there came a day that I was interested in someone and wished to have a boyfriend. The reason I ask this is because I know that sons can be very territorial of their mothers. He said he wouldn't mind at all. Then I asked him, "What if I find someone that I want to marry someday?". Never Forget 9/11
I was dicharged from the USAF the day before.The earliest flight home to Washington was at 7:35pm est from Raleigh/Durnam,N.C. with a 1 hour layover in Chicago.It was as I was getting off the plane that I found out that the 2 towers had been hit.5 minutes later as I was calling home,that is when the Pentagon was hit.I didn't leave Chicago until that Friday on an Amtrak train for a 42 hour ride home.Now when I think of 9/11,I realize that I could have been on a plane that could have been hijacked and flown into a building of some sort.I scares me still to think of that.

As I sit here in the early morning hours, I remember back to that fateful day. I was getting ready for work when I received the call from a friend who told me to turn on the news. So I did, and what I saw stopped my heart. To imagine someone having so much hate in their soul to feel that it's ok to murder innocent people like that is beyond me. Scallops A La Parisienne
Ingredients: 1/2 c dry white wine 1 lb scallops, fresh or thawed 6-8 sliced mushrooms, plus butter to cook in 4 T butter 3 T flour 2 egg yolks 1 c cream Salt and pepper, to taste Lemon juice Stock: 1 small onion 1 stalk celery 1 bay leaf 1 slice lemon 2 c water Pinch of salt and pepper Directions: Put stock ingredients in 2 qt pan. Bring to boil and simmer 10 minutes. Add wine and scallops, simmer 5-10 minutes more. They are done when they're creamy colored all the way through. Don't overcook! Drain and reserve liquid. Return liquid to pot and cook down to 1 cup. Meanwhile, saute mushrooms and set aside. Make a cream sauce: melt butter and flour, cook until bubbly; gradually add reduced scallop liquid (1 cup); stir until smooth and bubbly. Beat egg yolks and cream. Remove sauce from stove, beat in cream-egg mixture (you want to be stirring, preferably with a whisk, the whole time you add in the milk and eggs to make sure the eggs don't cook). Add mushrooms

Ingredients: 2 lb. center cut fresh salmon salt (use 1 tablespoon salt to every 2 pints water) Irish Butter Sauce: 2 egg yolks, free range if possible 2 teaspoons cold water 1 stick (1/2 C) butter, diced 1 teaspoon lemon juice flat parsley, fennel leaves and lemon wedges for garnish Directions: 1. Choose a saucepan that will barely fit the piece of fish: an oval cast-iron saucepan is usually perfect. (If a small piece of fish is cooked in a large pan of water, much of the flavor will escape into the water, so it is important to use the smallest saucepan possible. 2. Today We Lost A Major Icon
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense. He was pronounced dead at 6:15 am est, Common Sense has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. Remembering 9-11
It has, unfortunately become one of those days, that we will always remember, where we were, what we were doing, when we heard the news....for some, it was Dec. 7, 1941...for others, the day JFK was assisnated, or Bobby Kennedy, or John Lennon, Princess Diana. Let's do some speculating and debating. What makes a book work? Both for you personally and as a financial success. Today's topic: At First Glance... book covers! I tend to like simple covers that capture a moment or a feeling from the book rather than ones that try to convey the whole book. It also helps if they actually have something to do with the story within. I've seen plenty that were obviously meant to just grab attention and didn't reflect anything close to the story. Here are some killer book covers in my opinion. Of course, this is just a few of the ones I liked. I love the colors, and the tattoo. The lettering is unobtrusive. I like the title too. I Could Make Yet Another Memorial

How I Feel....

Myspace Layouts Can you remember what you were doing on the day of 9/11? I had just had a day of I.V.'s for my MS, when I started playing hide n' seek, with the three boy's I had baby-sat. Those People That I Truely Admire The Most.
The people I admire most are those that are everyday heroes. The people that put their very lives at risk everyday not because they have to but because its just the type of person they are. People like those in the military forces,(whether they're fighting in Iraq and/or Afghanstan, or on a base overseas, or a ship at sea, or here in the United States of America, or Retired Vets) they truly deserve our thanks and admiration for all of the things they do, will do, or have done not only for us and our country but for the countless others they have helped through they're bravery and courage. Just My Current Thoughts.
It seems no matter how much I want or work for things. They always collapse or fall through. It almost feels like something or someone is watching over me and toying with me for their own sick amusement and satisfaction. You can call me a pessimist or say I think negatively. Man you just have to love summer. This year has been terrific down south, as far as summers go, it's been quite mild. The other nice thing is that if ya go to the park the heat usually keeps the families inside. If you throw out a blanket in the shade you can enjoy the summer breezes, the squirrels chattering in the trees, and the smell of fresh cut grass filling the air. When I called her to see if she felt like just enjoying a light picnic she jumped at the chance. We haven't really spent time together lately and I missed her. I used business principle #7...K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Stupid. I threw a cutting board, cheese, some fruit, and two bottles of wine along with a blanket into my backpack and off I went. She was dressed in a simple sundress and sandals and her hair up in a ponytail. She didn't even give me a chance to open the door for her as she jumped in and gave me a kiss hello. You know its funny where life takes you. You think you got a hand on it all and somehow you get knocked right back down. Take me for instance... I am 31 years old and I have been married and divorced, have lived in more places than I can count, traveled this country (without seeing anything I would have loved to)( my ex was a truck driver), was born in Mo but am currently living in texas (where I said I would never live), and am more confused than I have ever been in my entire life. I feel as though I am 100 years old. Everything in my life has been one drama after another. When does it all change? After I die maybe? I keep saying I need a break or a vacation but that just does not seem to happen. The question in my brain is when do I get a break? When does something good happen for me?
