Can you remember what you were doing on the day of 9/11?
I had just had a day of I.V.'s for my MS, when I started playing hide n' seek, with the three boy's I had baby-sat. Then we got in the back yard, dug a large hole, for all four of us to play toy soliders with, you know those little bitty plastic men. I was showing them how to use their imagination with pine cones, rocks, and heapes of dirt and some little pools of water. I had gone inside the house to get some caps like for a cap gun, when I noticed on the T.V. The show a building caught fire; at the time I wasn't sure where it was. As smoke bellowed out, hiding the flames, at first, my gaze was pierced on building one. I saw the second plane veering into the second tower. My heart dropped, I stood in total shock and yelled a thought, "We're at war!" This was even before I knew the Pentagon was hit or that a plane crashed in Pennslyvia. I ran to the back door and yelled for the children to come in. I have no idea why I thought that was the safe place to be at the moment, but I did it.
After I settled them down with a game on Playstation, I went to the kitchen to watch the little T.V. on all the rest of the days events. I was thinking, I need to start getting things like water in gallons, can foods, all the things I could think of that would make life a little bit easier, if in fact, war had started. Never in my head had I thought the buildings would collapse. The sheer magnatude of it all put my self and possibly the world on hold. In unison all watched as people all over the world lives were change
Where were you?
