I play Santa at Maui's biggest mall A little boy 8 came to see me and he had a 6 year old sister. When he finished, the father came and told me the girl had gotten in trouble at school the day before and had her recess taken a way. He told me she didn't know that he and the mom knew as they were figuring out what to do. He asked if I would say something, I said sure. The girl had pulled down a little boys pants at school. Honesty is a very rare trait in this day and age. We all lie to a certain extent, little white lies we tell our boss, family, or strangers, some tell more than others. All lies hurt people, it is the depth of the hurt that varies. For me I have learned to classify our lies in to 4 major groups. New Jersey -- The Greatest State In America. Period.
December 18 is New Jersey Day, the day New Jersey officially approved the United States Constitution, and I, for one, am ready to proclaim -- I love the Garden State and all its citizenry. After two years of living in the filthy, overpriced, nose-in-the-air concrete mold growth that is New York City, I went to the Jersey Shore for the Fourth of July and had one of the best weekends of my life. I fell asleep listening to Bon Jovi and woke up listening to Bruce Springsteen (not an exaggeration, that actually happened). Everyone was so friendly and intent on showing me a good time, and had I chosen to, I could have gone the entire weekend without paying for anything. Young women and 60-year-old-men insisted on buying me drinks. So when my lease ran out, I got the hell out of Brooklyn and moved to Hoboken, New Jersey, America's number one city for singles. So it would be my honor to take a few minutes to clear up the most outrageous and offensive slander about my adopted home state.

Well just in case you didn't know. I am going to be a mommy. I only have 3 more weeks left till my due date. After being on bedrest for 7 weeks, I'm finally able to get out. It has been a long road but I am almost done. Can't wait to see my little one.

Was Kinda A Tough Day With The Dr!
I met with the Chemo dr and found out my success rate for my cancer after 5 years is only 38%, the 80% was 1 year. My dr., who is awesome, said he wants me in that percent and they are trying to get me on a clinical study in which he says would be beneficial to me. It apparently has gone into my lymph nodes in that area! If they get me in on the study, I won't have to pay for that part of Chemo. He says my age and health are definitely a plus! My Chemo starts on the 29th of Dec. If they don't get the Study I will be doing Chemo on a 21 day cycle. Which means I will have Chemo 4 days in a row and then break til the 21st day and start over for approx. 18 weeks (6 treatments). For those of you keeping track and researching the chemo for the 21 day cycle will be Cisplatin and Fluorouracil (also know as 5 FU). I was given so much info today the clinical chemo I don't recall! Sorry! They are doing radical Chemo and radiation as they normally don't do them together. If I get in th

Back At Home
Well people I am back home now. The surgery went as hoped. I can walk without a cane or crutch again. My legs dont go numb or limp. WOOHOO I will be able to return to work in a few months. Right now I am in pain because they had to cut through 7 layers of muscle. The surgery took longer than planned because the L5 and S1 had mushroomed quite a bit and when they shaved them smooth they open a bit of marrow. Also because the disc was not Herniated they had a harder time removing it. I am pumping up my fiber, protein, and iron in my diet to had more for my body to rebuild the muscle faster. The muscle should be fine within a month I hope and the bones should be done within 6 months. As for driving a truck I will be able to get the waiver to drive and get back to making money. WOOHOO!!!!

One famous person that i would like to have breakfast with is Seth Rogen. I just think he is a really cool and funny guy. Yesterday was the synchrozation of minor annoyance and stupid stuff. It seems to be relentless and unforgiving. The Morning started off on a bad foot, sleep has been very rare commodity for last 30 days or so. I guess the countdown clock for the next deployment has got me off kilter (more than usual… :-D). Running late, get to work, have two emails dealing with stuff that should have been resolved. One being legit, the other dealing with an expensive piece of software that I have no control over. Work Yesterday
Alrighty, this is my first blog..ever.. And well, lets see. I did not have a good shift yesterday at work haha I mean yeah it was fun. I work at a neon bar. I am a tender. A few of my friends made reservations to use it as a party place a few weeks ago and what do you know I was tending the party last night. I am serving up drinks and this drunk guy comes out of no where and decides it would be a good idea to puke on me. Oh I felt good after that...not really. I got myself cleaned up in the back and resume my work. When I walk out though the same guy..drinking some more. He starts to strip. The next thing I knew I was staring at hairy ass running up to the karaoke mic. I pic up his clothes and notify Jim he is one of the bouncers. Anyways he escorts the guy out, after he decides to punch one of my friends...so yeah it was a pretty shitty day. When you work at a bar and they drinking a lot...shit happens.

My New Years Resolution
Its getting to be that time of year yet again where so many of us make a New Years resolution. Sometimes we stick to them and acheive them and sometimes we give up after a period of time. This year has has its ups and downs for me. And its not ending on a good note with having to be forced to take off from work and that at the beginning of 2009 for at least 3 months myself and my co owrkers will be working a 32 hour work week instead of a 40 hour work week. Im single, so I have no one to depend on but myself when it comes to getting bills paid. So my New Years Resolution for 2009 is to make it through these hard times. okay, first, let me say that I am not all too talkative in person. Diurnal Once More...
I've always been a morning person. Rising at dawn, to peace, quiet, calm, clarity, to a day still full of promise. So, simply because I was using them today, this little bit of "YAY" hit me... In November and March, there is a large book distributor that has a warehouse sale. Now a lot of the stuff it older, and outdated reference materials, but every once in a while there are some gems. I am mad that they did away with the $.50 fiction table and $1 hardcovers, but I digress. I found perhaps the greatest thing there in November... wrapped in shrinkwrap, a 3 volume set of conversion tables!!! LC-Dewey; Dewey-LC; and Subject Headings!! Now, I expected that since there were 3 volumes, and therefore 3 books, with NO price, I would have been charged the $20 for 3 price that they had listed for the more expensive books... NO!! They counted it as 1 book...lumped it with 2 other paperbacks...and I got charged the $5 for 3 price for the cheap-os!!!! I looked it up...if I bought these new (now they are 5 years old, but most of this info doesn't change)... it would have cost me over $80 -- A V

This Broke My Heart
I was approached the other day by someone about a 6 year old little boy who is dying of cancer. Some of the local high school kids are trying to make his Christmas wish happen. He is trying to get the worlds record for the most Christmas cards. They mailed him over 200+ cards all personally addressed. His doctors are telling his family that he will be doing good to make it through the holidays. When I hear people complain about everything that they dont have and then I hear about something like this it just breaks my heart. So many people have so many things to be thankful for but they just keep wanting more. So during the holidays just remember little things like Christopher and his sickness and be thankful for what you have been given. Happy holidays to everyone!

My favortie thing to do is give at Christmas time. But as a dump truck driver Christmas is a time for layoff so I had to find cheap ways to still fulfill my being. I found giving a Christmas decorated bag of cookies to friends is a great way to make them smile. It's cheap, its quick, and its sweet! Here is the recipe. 1 stick Butter 2 Cups Sugar 4 tbsp Cocoa 1/2 cup Milk 2 cups Oatmeal 1/2 cup Peanut Butter 1 tsp. Vanilla In a pan on the stove with it set at halfway drop in stick of butter, sugar, cocoa, and milk. Stir til melted and mixed. Once it begins to boil in the center of the pan, set a timer and let it boil for 2 1/2 minutes. When finished boiling, turn off heat, add peanut butter and oatmeal. Stir quickly and remove pan from stove. Mix should be thick once mixed! Put on a counter a long piece of foil. Using a spoon make big or small blobs on the foil and let it sit til cool.

The band is a classic traditional power metal band straight out of Cleveland’s glorious 80's underground, featuring current and former members from Beyond Fear, Seven Witches and Breaker. The Quarantine Spoiler
Doug and I went to see Quarantine, and we have decided that its better if we never watch any movies about epidemic diseases/bio warfare typa things together. Growing up with a mother who was an epidemiologist that studied infectious diseases, I was fed on a daily basis with completely pointless information like what causes buboes in bubonic plague, how to safely contain Anthrax in your house, and what are the signs of Ebola outbreaks. While all that stuff didn't prevent me from failing Chemistry and Bio twice in HS, it made me a great movie ruiner. Watching The Quarantine, I was flabbergasted at people's failure to detect rabies right away, at the inaccurate treatment of people infected with the disease, and other minute details that I knew my mother would've pointed out. Sausage Stuffed Portobello
