Lemonade Party Cake
1 box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® lemon or yellow cake mix Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box 1 can (6 oz) frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed 3/4 cup powdered sugar 1 container Betty Crocker® Whipped fluffy white or fluffy lemon frosting Yellow colored sugar, if desired 1. Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Make cake as directed on box for 13x9-inch pan. Cool 15 minutes. 2. Mix lemonade concentrate and powdered sugar. Pierce top of warm cake every 1/2 inch with long-tined fork, wiping fork occasionally to reduce sticking. Drizzle lemonade mixture evenly over top of cake. Run knife around sides of pan to loosen cake. Cover and refrigerate about 2 hours or until chilled. 3. Spread frosting over top of cake. Sprinkle with sugar. Store covered in refrigerator. Closeness To You
In light of all the bulletins of the murder of a child, I won't go into my own opinions of it. I will say however, a life was taken that shouldn't have been. He never got to reach very many milestones and it honestly breaks my heart to even think about his death. I recently lost my best friend to Inflammatory Breast Cancer. Her pain far surpassed anything I've ever gone through. Her fear isn't anything my mind can even grasp onto. I cannot imagine the pain that this child went through, or the fear in this child's eyes. I do know that he is an angel now and I do hope that justice for putting him in pain and giving him the concept of fear will be served. Life is so precious. My Niece Morgan
My niece Morgan had a softball game and I couldn't make the one earlier in the week. My brother was out of town and couldn't make it so I went. I am quiting smoking and it was good to get out of the house to begin with. It was sooo nice out today. So I got there and her mom had left for a bit and it was right after she got hurt so I had to go see her and she was still upset a little (she's fine just a bruised wrist - minor swelling on a slide). I never really thought I had a big effect on her but being there and seeing if she needed anything (they had ice and water), I got to be there for her and she thanked me. Ok. I just got out of the doc's and everything looked real good on all my test. Doc still "recommends" me not driving for 5 more months just in case. Move Update
OK here's the latest crimp in my move. We've had to move the closing date back because lender is being a pain in the rear about reducing fees. Yesterday had to fax in a loss mitigation form with a hardship letter to see about getting the fees reduced. NOW we have to wait another day or 2 to get an answer from them I just can't win for losing. At least this gives me another chance at a moving sale without getting it screwed up with a blizzard. I'm doing it for 4 days so HOPEFULLY I can make a few hundred dollars more. Grandfather In Hospital...
again. My grandfather has been in and out of the hospital for some time now, ever since he had his stroke. But this time he has been lifted by Helicopter to Flagstaff, AZ from Cottonwood, AZ -- Where he lives with my grandmother. Lately he has been suffering from lightheadedness along with vomiting spells but this time he took a pretty bad fall. Apparently he has cracked a rib (they are still unsure) and is suffering from internal bleeding. My grandfather has always been a huge inspirational figure in my life. He served during Pearl Harbor in World War II and lived to tell the tale. To me he has always been a strong fighter. His health has always been as fit as a o' horse. Hughes Net Sucks
What a joke of a service. A buddy of mine has the service and is totally pissed off. He just found out that he has a limited amount of time a day to download. He went over his allotted amount with windows update. He called Hughes Net and they asked him to unplug his modem until 8pm the following day. Most of the time dial up is faster than. He has to buy the equipment for $365 or pay a cancellation fee of $380. So he is going to video tape the destruction of the equipment this Fourth of July.

First Hike Of 2008
We kicked off the 2008 hiking season on our 4th alternate. 1st was up the north ridge of Mary's Peak 2nd was Triangulation Peak 3nd was Opal Creek to Cedar Flats we had to abandon all of the above because of too much snow. we ended up down here in the swamp (W-valley) a few miles outside of corvallis on the Oak Creek trail system. we ended up hiking farther and higher than we had origianlly planned with the first 3 hikes. it was a workout! 6 miles and 2000ft elevation change. I'd like to do Table Rock just as soon as the snow melts, but who knows when that'll be. i may have to look to the coast for the next couple of hikes, Cape Perpetua maybe? ok, so i have this teacher, that i sort of... don't particularly love. ..i hate her. but anyways. every day i like talk bout how much i hate her. and like when i'm behind her i always make like gestures of killing/stabbing her.. hahaha. But today.. i was in one of those.. kayleigh moods, that i'm in an awful lot. and so in study hall i was like making airplanes with my hands and making airplane sounds, and i like got so into it that i fell out of my chair and i got up and continued. she came over and was like "kayleigh, that is enough. be productive" so i just did it quietly. My Brothers Birthday
Yesterday was my oldest brothers 65th birthday. A milestone in ones life, a day that we should have a birthday party where everyone dresses in black, and laughs and calls you old. It's been a long week. Chaotic, sleepless and full of sloppy puppy kisses. I finally picked up Enza last Sunday. She is so sweet, so soft and full of energy....the way I used to be....before she moved in. When we got home, I introduced her to her new surroundings. OMG things are busy!! My grandbaby is growing like a weed! She is now 4 weeks old. She had her bi-weekly appt yesterday and she is now at 8 lb 1 oz. They're happy now with her weight since she was 3 weeks early at 5lb 13oz so she now only has to go once a month for a few months. And of course she's the light of my life! I initally took the whole thing pretty badly but I can honestly say once I saw her, all of that just went away. 12 Days After.
I was in a bad car wreck on the night of July 18th...was in hospital 21 days..broken Jaw, broken nose and many teeth knocked out...various cuts and bruises. Yesterday I had to lie to a person calling in for a reservation and say that we are sold out. The reason? A stinky nasty attitude. People who are assholes on the phone just fail to realize that I a) don't get paid commission on the rooms sold, hence I don't give a fuck if the room is sold or not. b) Don't want to hear their nasty bitchy ghetto voice, let alone see them and their 10 kids in person c) Can tell them whatever the lies I want to get them forever out of my hair. Whenever I make hotel reservations, I am extremely courteous because a) I like people to be that way with me b) I know they can BS and say they are sold out too.

We have reached Shrine Time again and the bottomless pit pocket is currently being dug into. Last week it was the lawn mower which had a requiem mass due to is long grass cutting service. Well, it was 18 years old - my how time flymos. This week it is the poor microwave which did its last dog's dinner yesterday and caused a rumpus when he who still just about has the compeetoes discovered that he could not get his potato cooked, after my failed attempts. The worst part about it was the five minute testing time intervals. I wake up in the morning at 4:30am and start drinking coffee i get the kids up for school around 5:15am they start showers and hair that kind of thing. I fix them b-fast and make sure they have lunch money. I drive the kids to school and then i get ready for work. I go to work and wait for the day to be over then i go hme spend sometime with my kids fix dinner talk to my family on the phone. I just hang with my kids i do laundry and clean then around 9:pm i put the kids to bed and sit outside and smoke a cig and drink a pepsi and think. Around 11:00pm i go to bed with a good book and fall asleep that is my life on the weekeneds i do the same thing.

The Search
I've spent last month trying to find the best deal in finding a place to live. After visiting a few places, I belive i've found a new place to call the "Hatch Cave" After driving 30 minutes to..and from work..and working ten hour shifts for over a year now...I think its time to move closer to work. 1 cup plain nonfat yogurt 1 garlic clove, minced 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1 cup coarsely chopped English hothouse cucumber 1/4 cup chopped drained oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes 2 tablespoons chopped green onion 2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar 1 teaspoon olive oil 1 6-ounce package baby spinach 2/3 cup crumbled feta cheese (about 3 ounces) 4 pita breads, cut crosswise in half Mix yogurt, garlic and cayenne in small bowl. Season with salt and pepper. (Can be made 1 day ahead. Cover; chill.) Mix cucumber, sun-dried tomatoes, green onion, mint, vinegar and oil in large bowl. Stir in spinach and feta cheese. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Let stand while preparing pita bread. Preheat oven to 350F. Wrap pita breads in foil. Place in oven until heated through, about 10 minutes. Baked Cheddar Toast
1 c Heavy Or Whipping Cream 1 c Cheddar Cheese; Md, Shredded 1/2 ts Nutmeg 1/4 ts White Pepper 4 Eggs; Lg, Well Beaten 12 Bread Slices; White In the top of a double boiler, combine the cream, cheddar, white pepper, and nutmeg. Stir over hot water until the cheese melts and the mixture is well blended. Remove from the heat and cool to lukewarm. Generously butter a large baking sheet and set aside. My projection for the amount of work I get done this week: Zero. Why? Because I have next week off. I have no clue why in the world I am this way, but when it comes down to the time before some time in which I have off, I am so unproductive. It really needs to be the opposite, I should be freaking out about needing to get this done, and that done...but frankly Scarlet, I don't give a damn. This time of year is kinda strange. Since I work at a university, I get a week off for Christmas, which really turns out to be nine days when you count weekends, but then it turns into about eleven days when you count New Years. Normally that would be exciting, but I seriously have nothing to do during that time frame! I only spend about two days with my family, mainly because they drive me batty. Most of the people I know around here are leaving, so my typical hangout schedule will be interrupted. Billy Powell Passed Away
Lynyrd Skynyrd keyboard player Billy Powell dies. By Matt Soergel From http://www.jacksonville.com Billy Powell, a longtime keyboard player for Lynyrd Skynyrd who survived the band's 1977 plane crash, died at his Orange Park condo early this morning, according to police. Orange Park Police Chief James Boivin said Powell called 911 from his condo in Club Continental and was pronounced dead at 1:52 a.m. after rescue crews performed CPR on him. Boivin said he was told Powell had an appointment with his heart specialist Tuesday but never made it to the appointment. Current Lynyrnd Skynyrd singer Johnny Van Zant spent 22 years with Powell in the band. He said the band took the news of Powell's death hard. "You know, they say they've got one hell of a band up in heaven. My brother Ronnie up in heaven is probably saying, 'Billy, what took you so long?' I'm sure they're catching up on things in heaven." Powell, who went to Bishop Kenny High School, joined Skynyrd in 1972
