I am always concerned about what I write in this journal, thinking that some things are best left out of my Fubar blogs because of, well, the irreverancy of the place. Hurricane Ike Was Devastating!!!!!
I do not really know where to begin with this blog. I have been through hurricanes and tropical storms before, but not many of them have been as truly devastating as Hurricane Ike was for the region of the Texas coast that I live in. My water was restored on Sunday night and my power was restored Tuesday afternoon, but there are many people who do not have water and over one million people still do not have power and it may still be another week until some people get electricity. Several of our coastal counties have received what I can only call catastrophic damage. On Galveston Island 80% of the homes are either gone, have had structural damage, or have received several feet of water damage. I have cried several times while looking at the news coverage of the beaches where I have spent a lot of time since I was a child. Whole neighborhoods are gone and many will never be the same. Many months ago I met one of the most wonderful and exciting people I have ever known. Immediately we were into each other but both very cautious. Her name is Stacy. Stacy was married and has two wonderful children and was a hair stylist in Junction City, KS. The time together was wonderful but very short. 20 Weeks! Its A..........
at first she didnt want to show us. she had her legs crossed thru the whole ultrasound but thank god we had a persistant ultrasound tech and she kept trying and finally she uncrossed them and we could see that she is clearly a girl lol. she is 10oz and totally healthy.Everything looked great. My Health
Most of you know that I've been REALLY worn down and tired lately. Going to bed at 9:30 every night and just NO ENERGY! I went to the Dr. today and they're thinking it's my thyroid. I go in on Monday for a blood test and hopefully we know for sure. I also have a back problem that I'm on pills for and on new allergy pills to help with my sinus problems. I KEEP having recurring UTI's too and they're taking care of that too! Hopefully before too long I'll be just fine. I also have my high cholesterol and high blood pressure that I'm on pills for! Surgery?
Looks like my injury has taken a turn for the worse. It felt like it was getting better until I hit a pot hole while running. They think there's a possibility that my knee hasn't healed properly and that it may actually be still broken. I'm going to have an x-ray and/or an mri done soon. They have hinted at surgery and even a possible knee replacement. That is a little extreme, though. I will keep all of you updated.

Finally, March 1st came-the day of our departure. Carrying all the possessions in tow, and leaving everythin behind, my mom, dad, grandma, and great aunt went to the airport. The 20 hr trip really sucked, including having a lay over in NY, where we almost missed our flight and stayed there, probably forever. The Strangest Dog
I have got the strangest dog. Ever since I got her as a pup 3 years ago (today is her birthday BTW),she's done wierd things. The pinky and ring finger on my left hand are nerve dead, she knaws on them at night actually reviving them some. She died last winter and came back to life, guess I can't get rid of her now. I know some people chew fingernails, I don't. But I just watched a movie and the whole time she was chewing my nails. You know, she never once bit my finger. I got my male after my mother died. He means the world to me. I got her to keep him company. She was such a pain to train I was considering geting rid of her. Lately with unemployment and abandonment of friends, I actually look to her for comfort. She keeps me in sight at all times. She'sa tough nut to crack, butshe has a heart of pure gold.

Just a few things I feel like I need to say here.... Anyone who knows me from when I joined almost 2 years ago knows that if there was drama I was right there in the middle of it. To my wonderful friends I just wanted to let every one of my friends know that if you are an animal activist and dont like the fact that my son went out and got his first deer, it is meat for the table and has better flavor and better for you than beef. They are all innocent victims of being killed whatever animal be it pig, cows, fish, seafood, chicken, deer, elk all, are killed for meat. At least we are eating the meat and not leaving it lie out there to rot, like some people I have heard them shoot 30 deer, slottered and left out there to rot. GONE are the days of relying on other people to get their own work done, just so I can do my own in a timely manner. GONE are the days of cranky customers who's one goal in life is to take their frustrations out on the one person they dont give a fuck about and wont see again. Dads Biopsy Results
Hello all..took dad up to James Cancer Hospital at OSU this morning.to talk to the surgeon about the tumor on dads kidney that He removed on Oct 17th 2008..It ...was....cancer..it is called Cystic Cancer of the kidney..Dr.said that the test proved that He got it ....all out...and dads has a ...95% chance of it ...never ....coming back...He was very happy and said dad was doing good and he wanted to see dad back there in May 2009 to do a ultra sound to make sure dads 2/3rd of his left kidney is working right and if any tumors or cells have come back..Then after that they want to keep seeing him and testing just to make sure dad is ...cancer...free..they also did Labwork today.i told dad on the drive home..that even though i was scared for him on oct 17th , that i was soooo thankful he pushed to get it taken care of..dad is still tired and working on getting his strength back. once again, i CANT...thank you all enough for all of the loving words and thoughts, and prayers..love ya all..y

On the way to work this morning, I encountered a not so shocking problem. There were 6 huge hogs blocking the roadway. I almost hit the fuckers. Obviously, they'd escaped their pen and were lounging in the road and someone's driveway, sunning themselves and eating flowers. I had to pull into the ditch to keep from hitting them, and as I sat there, car surrounded by hogs, the 911 operator tells me she can't send anyone to help me until I can give her an address. What? Okay, lady....this town isn't so big that if you send an officer down Lake Douglas Rd, he won't be able to find the blue lancer surrounded by fucking hogs, for Christ's sake. I simply tell her that if she sends someone a couple miles outside the city limit, he'll spot 'em. I'm just doing what I can to save both hogs and people from injury. What else could I do?

As part of her getting me evicted from my own home, the Judge decided that I was not allowed anywhere near the house ever again.....so when I see the boys she has to bring them to me.....simple you might think.......NOOOOOOOOOO Way, tomorrow I am taking them swimming and then off to a local town for the afternoon and have asked her to drop the boys off where we are going swimming...fair request you might think...... Think again....she has told me to pick them up from a park which is less than half a mile from the house rather than put herself out and drive them the extra 2 miles to where I have asked....so for that to happen, I have to drive 50 miles from my place, park the car at the park, pick up the boys, get a taxi......$10 each way, take them swimming, $15/$20, take the train, another $20 and what ever we spend while out in town, lunch and so on when all it will cost her is less than $2 in fuel.......Oh gee, do you think I should give in????

18 Years!
It's hard to believe it really has been that long, but 18 years ago, this beautiful girl was born into my life. She's always been Daddys Girl, as much as my son was attached to my wife, she was attached to me. I remember how she used to look at me with those big brown eyes smiling, as if she really believed I could do ANYTHING. :) Well she has grown up into a mature responsible kind hearted civic minded young lady, who is almost always willing to play the role of peacemaker, but do not let that soft exterior fool you, once her patience has run out, she can be a bulldog. Today I did a photo shoot with Rich for Christmas gifts for some of the family. Thought it would be a nice thing to do. I know that I'm not going to like the photos.....I never like photos taken of myself...I have a couple weeks until their done to get them checked out. Another Set Back
Well again I need to ask for all your prayers. I went to see Mom the weekend of Nov 8 with the plan of spending a long weekend with her and my sister. I got to go to PT with Mom and we had some good talks. She had been progressing quite well and looked as though she was on her way to a good recovery. Well while I was there on Tue morning...she was in the shower and had a stroke. It was a pretty serious one. Her left side is paralized...she just happens to be left handed. She can talk and she knows who she is and who me and my sister are, but this is a very scary thing for us with a lot of unknowns at this time. Please keep us in your prayers.

Still Hanging In There.....
Mom is still hanging in there but not sure how much longer she is going to last. They have mentioned Hospice and that they really can't do much more than what they are doing right now. Mom has done a bit of talking and the talking that she has done has been slurred and mumbled. You can understand what she is saying but you have to listen close. She is still Mom for all practical purposes. She knows who she is and who my sister and I are and lots of other things, but the lenght of time she is awake and the amount that she can talk is getting less and less. We are still holding out hope but not sure if that is enough. Mom has to do somethings herself before the Drs etc can do for her. Everything is in her hands as well as His hands at this point.

Turkey Recipe
Here's my Turkey Recipe for you. This turkey recipe also includes the use of popcorn as a stuffing -- imagine that. When I found this recipe, I thought it was perfect for people like me, who just are not sure how to tell when poultry is thoroughly cooked, but not dried out. Give this a try. 8 - 15 lb. turkey 1 cup melted butter 1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is Good.) 1 cup uncooked popcorn (ORVILLE REDENBACHER'S LOW FAT) Salt/pepper to taste Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush turkey well with melted butter, salt, and pepper. Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn. Place in baking pan with the neck end toward the back of the oven. Listen for the popping sounds. So I have come up with a few possiblities why I hate driving on thursdays. Driving alot on thursdays i tend to notice. a. I hate people b. My Feelings
I don't think I should ever feel sorry for being myself, a passionate and intense person, although there are a whole lot of pros and cons surrounding it or me. Sperm Donors (aka My Dad)
So, not too many people on here know about my dad. Actually, very few. Any who, if you know me at all, you know I hold nothing back. MRE dinner Date The following is supposedly a true story....told from the point of view of a U.S. Marine. I had a date the other night at my place. On the phone the day before, the girl asked me to "Cook her something she's never had before" for dinner. After many minutes of scratching my head over what to make, I finally settled on something she has DEFINITELY never eaten. I got out my trusty case of MRE's. Meal, Ready-to-Eat. Field rations that when eaten in their entirety contain 3000+ calories. Here's what I made: I took three of the Ham Slices out of their plastic packets, took out three of the Pork Chops, three packets of Chicken-a-la-King, and eight packets of dehydrated butter noodles and some dehydrated/re hydrated rice. I cooked the Ham Slices and Pork Chops in one pan, sauteed in shaved garlic and olive oil. I just wanted to take the time to say thank you to all.. Health Issues And College

The FBI STILL has my computers. Life Changes
The past two days I have learned to never take anything for granted. We take our health, family and friends for granted everyday. When life takes a turn we are shocked at how something could intrude on our normal everyday existance. My father was being treated for high potassium which caused leg tremors/spams. Tuesday he had a seizure from it which resulted in an emergency room visit and then a various scans. These led to brain cancer, and then lung cancer alas cancer in the adrenal gland. He still has not had a biopsy, but the Dr's mentioned stage 4 cancer. The cancer in his brain is about thesize of a quarter and they say it is new and has been there about three weeks. They are unable to do any types of surgery because they are afraid of clotting and immediate death. His cancer is aggressive. I am not ready to lose my dad. I am thankful that I have been able to make him feel special on many occasions during his life, that I told him I loved him after almost all telephone conversation

there are times when the body acts before reason has an opportunity to override foolishness. case in point... i enjoy making things that could result in serious injury or death, and my latest project was a potato gun. after getting it all assembled - complete with an electric bbq grill ignitor - i was experimenting with different propellants to see which would be the most effective. after a failed attempt with wd-40, i remeoved the cap from the combustion chamber and put a lighter to it to clear out the vapors. after lighting it, something told my body that it would be a good idea to blow into the flaming combustion chamber. about the time my lungs were expelling the air from within them, my mind woke up and said, "this is a very bad idea". but it was too late. the air was already moving. fortunately, my body was smart enough to not blow into the chamber directly. otherwise, the outcome could have been much worse. i walked away from this episode with only a little less

'there's No Place Like Home...'
Fuck! It's just not working! It worked for that stupid bitch and Toto! Well I suppose I would have to figure out first where home is.. or was! While I thought it was Vegas... since that was where I resided for so long... I thought that home was Vegas. Home is where you lay your head, right? Wrong! Well lately at least it seems that doesn't play true. Home is where? Well, maybe where my heart is... but my heart always fails me, so that's no help! My head... oh there's a blog in and of itself! God, if I ever let you into the depths of what goes on inside my head all at once it would scare the holy crap out of you! It does me! I have to live with it on a daily basis! So, where is home? He tried to replay in his mind the meeting with this strange woman, to pull up from his memory file the way she looked at him when he took a bite of the apple: her animalistic cold eyes and a carnivorous smile that lifted the corners of her mouth in such a mysterious yet conspiratory way. He clearly remembered every second of that occurrence, her every gesture and sound, but any memory previous to that moment was completely erased from his brain, and no matter how hard he tried, he just could not recall where and under which circumstances he could have met her. He could hardly tell whether this was a dream or reality, having only the physical evidence of this event taking place to confirm the latter, so this amnesia was not surprising whatsoever. Whether or not it happened, he knew he wanted to see her again, to smell that exotic aroma of sandalwood and vanilla mixed in with some unknown to him spices, to have those wild eyes glare at him again, revealing the fire glowing deep inside.
