Pete's Pet Peeves - Vol 1
One thing that ticks me off is when you haven't talked to someone in a while they say something like "Hi Stranger!" To this, I usually reply something smart ass along the lines of "What you have amnesia and don't remember me?" Saying that to me, is like a passive aggressive way of saying "Why haven't we talked" and like its putting the onus on me. My thinking on not talking with someone is that if they wanted to talk, they could always say "Hi" themselves. Its not up to me to know that you want to talk to me. I'll be the first one to admit I am easily distracted, and not very good about keeping in touch with people, but telling me its my fault is shirking your half of the responsibility and probably going to make me less likely to want to say anything in the future if I am just going to get a guilt trip about it. This isn't directed at anyone, just one of my pet peeves.

Thinking...
If anyone is reading this that knows alittle a bit about me ..then they should know I am always in thought. I look back now and I see all the blessings that I have had...the unforgetable people that have crossed my path..and the lessons I have gathered from them. And to be truthful I am thankful also for those who inflicted pain and confusion for those are what truly make me who I am today. We all at certain points in our lives realize that dwelling in the past only postpones us from growing and becoming what we should be in full. I myself back-track sometimes but also use these thoughts and lessons in days lived now.This last year has been a roller-coaster.Sometimes I believe I deserve better...mainly because I lose who I am sometimes..therefor I wonder if this my path or is it an obstacle..is there something here for me to learn..or is there something I need to teach?

Update
This is an update on my mother. She is doing much better and the Drs have determined that she did NOT have a (TIA) mini stroke. She does have some plaque blockage in a gland in her neck (coratid area) but will be seeing a specialist for treatment for that. Other than that her blood-sugar was out of whack and once they get that ironed out, she will be going home, which could possibly be today. Ethan and I are back home as of this past Tuesday night. I am trying to catch up on things that got away from me while I was gone. Thank you all for your prayers! Much love, donna

Mumm Is The Word
I posted a couple of mumms yesterday. I decided to post 4 actually. I was bored, and wanted to check out these 'mumms' as I have seen so many of my friends comment and vote on them. Interestingly some of the results did not have to do with the mumms themselves. They were criticisms about the nature of the mumms or my motives as to why I put them there in the first place. In fact one or two people made accusations that my mumms where merely an attempt to gather points for my rank. Perhaps that is a technique that they themselves are familiar with doing, but I could care less. Needless to say, the mumm crowd is really kind of weak. They make a lot of statements that are not pertinent to the mumm, as well as supporting a lot of idle chatter. It's sad really. They will not keep me from making new mumms though. If they did, they would win.

Have To Wait Even When I Do Not Want To.
Well I just found out that I have to wait to see my baby again still because he has to help at home. I probably will not see him for another month and I am already going crazy here. We both miss each other something terrible and wish we could be together but this is how it is now. We both have terrible insomnia when we are apart and only feel partly ourselves. What The Hell Is Wrong With Me?
I have little explanation for this, but in the past few days or so, I have been feeling overwhelmingly run down. Caramel Apple Cheesecake
1/2 pk Kraft caramels; (about 24) 1 tb Milk 1 Graham cracker pie crust 1/3 c Nuts; chopped 8 oz Cream cheese; softened 1/2 c Sour cream 2 tb Sugar 1/2 c Applesauce, chunky 2 ts Vanilla 1/2 ts Cinnamon 8 oz Whipped topping; thawed Fresh Apple slices Melt caramels with milk in small microwaveable bowl at high for one minute to 90 seconds. Stir mixture until smooth. Pour into the crust. Sprinkle with nuts. Set aside to cool. Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Stir in applesauce, vanilla and cinnamon. Fold in half the whipped topping. Spread mixture over caramel layer in crust. Chill at least four hours. Garnish with remaining whipped topping, apple slices and melted caramels if desired. Note: Store any leftover pie in refrigerator.

Loseing A Loved One

Family and I all went to Cedar Point today. The day was very cold up til 1. I had 4 shirts..2 which were thick sweatshirts. So i have this ex. My ex is 29. His name is Shane. Well Shane and i work together and i decided that i would give him a chance. The Biggest Fear
The biggest fear that I ever had was of being the next best thing in somebody's life. I never did put much trust into what my heart told me but instead I listened to what my mind told me and it kept my heart from being hurt more times than what it already had been. Computer Problems

Casper/Mills/Evansville, WY... The coolest things about it (so far) are that my friend RyotGrrl lives out here and that I noticed a sign that said "NERD" as I was coming into the airport. The job is ok, but I'm lacking some skills with one of the welding processes and it's holding me back in pay. The living situation is a wholly different story. In the week plus days that I've been here, My crew has been to four different hotels: Shilo Inn, Ramada Inn, Showboat, and Westside. At the Ramada, they booked me and two others in the suite under MY name, and then one of the others spent $200 on long-distance calls. I get nothing back. In fact, the flight, hotel, $100 advance and tools ALL come out of my checks at a max of $300/wk. Mind you the pay is good, if I can get the overtime, but still.. Explaining My Surgery
I just want everyone to know what my surgery is gonna be all about. I am going in the hospital on May 30th. I am having a tummy tuck done. I am NOT having this done for cosmetic reasons. It is being done for health reasons. 8 years ago, I had back surgery. It wasn't successful and I have not worked since this, and am disabled. In the past year or so, I have lost a total of 85 pounds, I did this ON MY OWN...no diet pills or surgery. It was rough, but I did it. Through all the back problems, I couldnt exercise alot, and it created alot of excess skin hanging on my belly. This is causing stress on my back. We found out last fall that I am having issues with the oppposite side of my spine now, I have a severely herniated disc, and 2 others that are starting to become weak also. I also have a blood mass between 2 of my vertebre. I have had people state to me that my back problem is "just an excuse" to have the cosmetic surgery done. New Story Idea
I have been tossing around in my head a new idea for a new story and have beat it down to one where my husband and I are going into a favorite adult store of ours. Some Good News, And Some Bad News....
Hello all, I went to the Eye Dr yesterday, and had some good news. Each eye individually I have almost 20/20 vision, but, with my right eye socket still being broken, it is still causing the blury/double vision. The good news about that though is that it has been getting better, its slowly not as blurry and as some of the test showed it seems to be more blury only at certain directions, or double at certian directions, i.e. looking up is a lot works than looking left for example. At the moment is a hurry up and wait senario. He could prescribe corective lenses in which it would use a prism to redirect the light so things would be in focus. However, being I see the Plastic Surgeon on Friday to get another CT of the broken eye socket and see how its healing up, he doesnt want to do that yet in case there is a need for micro surgery or until he finds out if it will naturally correct itself over the next few months. Other than that, he said I just had a slight estigmatism

Culture Shock
As some of you know I've moved to Germany. Many things here are a bit different from in the states. Since I've been here I've realized that many many Americans are a bit uptight when it comes to certain things. Rise In Autism Cases May Be Overestimated
Wed, May 14, 2008 (Reuters Health) — Changes in the criteria for diagnosing autism may account — at least in part — for the marked rise in the number of new cases in the last few decades, the results of a small study suggest. "The dramatic increase in rates of diagnosis of autism does not necessarily mean there is an epidemic of new cases," Dr. Dorothy V. M. Bishop from the University of Oxford, UK, told Reuters Health.
