Jola was home on maternity leave, and she had Uni drag a desk into the living room so she could still do her accounting work, but her real motive was to watch Uni. Companies that assign addresses for Web sites appear to be cutting corners on security more when they assign names in certain domains than in others, according to a report to be released Wednesday by antivirus software vendor McAfee Inc. McAfee found the most dangerous domains to navigate to are ".hk" (Hong Kong), ".cn" (China) and ".info" (information). Negatives And Positives
I always enjoy the very general dichotomy of positives and negatives, and the ensuing discussion if for no other reason than mostly anyone can understand it immediately, and most people can effectively participate regardless of their philosophical backround. In short your audience does not need to have the education, or preparedness that most philosophical discussions may require. Perhaps the most interesting idea I think in this is the idea of the negative. Most people think this synonomous with 'bad' or something 'not good', no pun intended. In fact negative judgments are not inherently 'evil' as the American culture may have been apt to say, but are simply a lack of what is so well embraced in the positive statement. Visiting Dheshe Camp
I will have more to write about soon but for now I am getting ready to tour Dheshe refugee camp at the invitation of another friend, this time my maid. I will receive a tour, a meal and hopefully some good video. This camp is in the best shape of any camp in Palestine or Lebanon so it isn't very representative, but it is the chance to hear their story. In the morning I went to Damascus Gate district leading to the Old City in Jerusalem which was fascinating! Just to see all those people, the vendors and more, was truly a sight to behold! And you know, I thought I was an impatient driver at times, but having been here for this amount of time, I am convinced I am too timid of a driver to be on those roads. That traffic was unbelievable!

A Triple Whammie - Oh Life Is Good, A Sort Of Diary Reminder Of A Good Day.
Yesterday was an excellent day. I became a failure and it did not bother me. I sent a message to a book distributor, nice, polite letter, and awaited reply with no hopes raised. Anyway a reply came yesterday. (It was a declination!) It was vary terse and obviously had very little thought put in. It made me smile and I wondered if it was a reverse psychology thingie. Anyway, I sent a thank you back and then picked their brains. Well I thought that seeing as I was there I could only ask. Whether I get a reply remains to be seen but I am not bothered, I can probably do a search on the internet. An amazing incident occurred in the morning because I got engaged again. Imagine he who knows all finding this out. Well, I managed to get my engagement ring back on after a year of it being so tight that even soap would not remove it. Another thing, well that must have been good because I have forgotten it. Oh yes, my friend in Japan received a copy of the book and will review it

My Patchwork Heart
My patchwork heart, isnt at all made of fancy linens, but rather shreds and bits I found to replace the voids left by malicious spiteful sinners. I sew and I sew constantly adding to the mosaic, replacing the pieces so my heart can be whole again, just to find another tear, yet another spot to mend. I cant seem to hide it, when I wear it on my sleeve, it stands out like a bright flower in an undergrowth of leaves. Its not so hard to tear it apart as so many have clearly shown, but for everyone thats torn out a section, into it another section I have sewn. Now the different color threads I use and a few tough lengths of yarn and some leather, all the needles Ive dulled or bent trying to keep it all together, seem cover my patchwork heart and yes its quite a mess. It grows thick upon it like a scar, like the one upon my chest, the one that covers the hole where my patchwork heart used to rest.

Tornadoes June 4, 2008 Well, today was one for the record books. We had “severe weather” which means (at this particular time of year) severe thunderstorms, lightening and tornadoes. Anyone who has lived here for more than a year knows that’s just what goes on. Sometimes they cause death and destruction; sometimes they don’t. So today was no exception. We woke up to rain and it began storming shortly thereafter. When I arrived at work we had our normal “daily meeting” and discussed where to go in case of a tornado. People started freaking out. Expectations
when i'm expecting something to go one way and it goes another i am always unhappy with the results. Even if the result on its own would be considered positive. I reached for a cream soda, someone had switched one of the bottles in the 6 pack, i opened and drank it, not seeing it wasn't cream soda. It tasted terrible. Turned out to be black cherry soda. Observations...
I've realised some things... 1. You can do more situps if you go at a slow and steady pace. It's amazing how much easier it is if you take 5 second breaks in between. 2. No matter where I go in public places or social settings, I seek out military. There seems to be a bond I am unable to explain that separates me from civilians now. I feel they can't comprehend why I did what I did. They may never understand the sense of duty I feel. I'm Back
Haven't been on in awhile. My mom has been in the hospital for about a month now. She was in Johnstown but after two botched surgeries & almost dying from infection we were finally able to get her out of there. She first went to Altoona but they said she was too serious so they recommended sending her to Pittsburgh, PA. My dad & I were driving two hours there & two back everyday while she was in ICU. Last week she was moved to a regular room so dad & I have been taking turns staying over night w/ her. Hopefully she will be transferred to a rehab place closer to home tomorrow. She will be on IV antibiotics for at least 8 more weeks & after will more than likely have to have a 3rd surgery. All that from a surgery that was to have been an over night stay, a few days of bed rest & possibly some physical therapy. Needless to say I'm completely drained, not to mention moody as hell. Why females should avoid a girls night out after they are married... If this does not make you laugh out loud, you have lost your sense of humor. Or you can't remember YOUR last "Girls Night Out!" Not Used To This Schedule...
and I'm draggin' ass today...so used to staying up 'till 1am, I can't go to sleep at 10p.m like I should. Once I get used to it, by next week, it's back to staying up late again. I'm trying to keep busy like writing here, cleaning, exercising, just moving during the day to stay awake so that I don't take a nap and stay up 'till 1 again. Responsibilites suck sometimes and I wish them away on days like this. It's to no avail though and now I have a headache. It's been a crappy day.

Wishing It Was Different.
Ok, so many of you know that I have my daughter and I have to take her home June 4th. Any a few of you have even seen my cry because of this fact. I have a few moments where I got away because I need to get these thoughts out. I wish that this wasn't like this. That little girl belongs with me, and not her dad. A few of you have seen me and her on my web cam, and all have said she looks so happy and that I am happy myself. You were right, I have my daughter. It's the first time I've got to bring her home with me since I lost her 6 months ago. Her fathers mom and dad finally realized that visitation is open as long as her father and I agree on things and what not. But anyways, Im hoping and praying that soon things will change, and that little princess will once again be where she belongs....with her mommy. Anyways, back downstairs to play with her and enjoy what little time I have left with her.

I took the NCLEX-RN exam today. The test is anywhere from 75 to 265 questions, and the computer cuts off when it finds that you are either competent or incompetent as a nurse. I answered 75 questions, and the computer shut off. I don't know if this is good or bad, because at 75 questions, they either decide you passed beyond their expectations, or you failed miserably. I feel pretty good about it, but I just have to wait. Hopefully I will know in 25 hours or so, but until then, I just have to chew my nails and wait! LOL

My Allergy Test...
Well i got stuck in the back multiple times, and after the test was done, my back itched like a mofo, and i could scratch it grrrrrrr. I had to wait fifteen minutes for the allergens to run it's course under my skin. Then the nurse came in and took down all the results of the test, and i had to wait another 20 minutes for the dr. to come in and tell me what i was allergic too. Well doc told me i got good news and i got bad news for ya. I told doc to give me the bad news first, and he said "well you are allergic to a LOT OF STUFF" and i said "the good news was?" He said "Well at least now you know what your allergic to, and we can fix you up", and i was like "wooohoooo!!!" and then in a quick voice he stated "oh one more bit of good news" and "what was that doc" i replied. He stated "i'm not allergic to pussy, partying and beer" so that really got me excited lmfao. Ok maybe i over-exagerated about what doc said, but hey i'm still happy that i know that i can get all my allergies fixed,

Surgery Was A Success!!!
At last!!! Surgery went well!! My little man came through with flying colors!! Recovery took the longest. He had a little bit of a rough time there, but now, all is well. Today was his first day back to school. That seems to have gone well too. He's not happy about the restrictions that he has, but as of this Saturday, he gets the green light to do what he wants. I sure hope this is the end of his mysterious abdominal pain he was having. Time will tell I guess. I want to thank everyone for the kind words and support they have shown me. A special thanks to Red and Rick. You guys have been wonderful. I couldn't ask for better friends than you guys. I'll keep you updated on the recovery process, til then, thanks to all and take care.

Old Person's Bus Pass
I was on the bus today and I couldn't help but notice there was a big advertisement / poster type thing up. Things Going On

Diesel fuel is at $5.05 a gallon. Gasoline as at $4.08/gal. (DIESEL IS THE GARBAGE THAT GASOLINE LEAVES BEHIND WHEN IT'S PRODUCED) You wanna know why milk is over $4/gal, or why a candy bar is up to about a buck, or why a Ribeye steak is about $8/lb? Baby Update!!
So, I haven't been on for awhile. We don't have the net right now so the only time I get on is at Liz's and that's not very often. I thought I would get on here and give everyone another little update. The doctor decided to go ahead and keep the 21st as my Due Date. He says that since the Sono said the 7th, that just means that she is growing EXTREMELY well. So she will probably be a pretty big baby. Jason says she'll weigh atleast 8 lbs...my mom says 8.5 LoL. This is a big change from what I have blogged recently. I am absolutly horrified!If you don't know already I am a single mother of a 3year old boy.
