Random Thoughts
One of my resolutions this year is to learn to be a bit more open again. I kinda went from throwing it all out there, to being completely closed. so today i was talking to my dad about the war and everything...since my brother is headed towards iraq right now....he starts telling me about a funeral for a soldier that died in the line of duty...his funeral was today in a town about 20 miles from us...he said there was talk about some church group coming down to picket his funeral...saying he deserved to die. Cheese Blintzes Makes 10 to 12 crepes Ingredients Crepe Batter: 2 eggs 2 tablespoons salad oil 1 cup milk 3/4 cup sifted flour 1/2 teaspoon salt Cheese Filling: 1/4 pound cream cheese 2 egg yolks 1/4 pound cottage or pot cheese 2 Tablespoons sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla Directions: 1. Beat eggs, oil, and milk. Add flour and salt, beating until very smooth. Chill 30 minutes; it should be like heavy cream. If too thick, add a little milk. 2. Grease 8-inch hot skillet with light coating of butter. Pour 3 to 4 tablespoons of batter into the skillet, turning pan to coat it. Fry lightly on one side. Repeat with remaining batter. 3. Stack crepes on waxed paper, brown side up. Beat filling ingredients together until smooth. Fill each crepe with 2 heaping tablespoons of filling and roll up egg roll-style by folding in sides of crepe over filling. 4. May be frozen at this point, then fried without defrosting. 1 cup graham cracker crumbs 3 tablespoons white sugar 3 tablespoons butter 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese 1 1/4 cups white sugar 3 tablespoons cornstarch 1 (16 ounce) container sour cream 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract 5 tablespoons amaretto liqueur 1/2 teaspoon salt 4 eggs 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 2. Mix together the graham cracker crumbs and the 3 tablespoons white sugar. Add the melted butter and mix well. Press into the bottom of a 9 inch springform pan. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes, set aside. 3. In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, and cornstarch, and mix until smooth. Add sour cream, vanilla, amaretto liqueur, and salt. Mix until well blended. On low speed of an electric mixer, add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Pour batter over crust. 4. Healthy Living: D May Be For Diabetes, But It Doesn't Mean That It Is For Disaster Necessarily....
A friend of mine has mentioned that he has recently learned that he has diabetes. He now has his head screwed on right after the after shock of the initial impact of the news; however, I did remind him that, just because he has diabetes, it isn't the end of the world. Both of my grandparents had diabetes and lived well into their late 80's, which if you are in your 40's now, it means that you have roughly another 40 years to go, at least!! Of course, longevity does mean being more attentive to a healthy lifestyle. Since we ARE human, this doesn't mean that one can't substitute that favorite piece of cake or pie for that sugar free jello in the refrigerator. There is no reason to completely derprive ourselves. Water Restrictions In Australia
As you may or may not know we are in the worst drought in Australian history where i am we are in level 4 which means 150 litres per person per day no hosing of pathways or washing cars that is done by bucket & gardens to be watered by grey water now we are all doing this well i am anyway & yet the local councils dont do anything about recycling water know it costs but what comes first money or survival , luckily our council is going to do a desalination plant due in march next year but the other part of the coast coming under gosford does bugger all sitting on their hands yet still putting through highrise developments which have double toilets bathrooms etc this is stupid as there is not much water here left at all. Alright...so I'm a car fanatic and a fan of driving in all situation. A good driver to me isn't the one who gets there first, but accomplishes their driving goals. IE, in a neighborhood, goal #1 should be looking out for the kids! Interstate in heavy traffic, going with the flow of traffic. Open interstate and no one insight...hauling ass! So if the car can go 165...the law shouldn't be able to same a word about it if your not inside city limits and high traffic areas! Snoring Problems!

My life so far...Well here I am sitting here at work not doing to much. I should really be doing something, but I am just not motivated to do anything right now. New Dog?

Its pretty wierd to be in charge of running a platoon around the same streets I used to run as a "weak body private" lol. Kinda cool though. Kinda surreal to drive past my basic/AIT company. That shit feels like so long ago, I guess it was, shit 3 years is a while. But this is the first of 3 trips I gotta make back here, one more for BNCOC and another for ANCOC.
