This weekend’s last minute road trip was well worth the 1,600 miles of driving over 3 days, the ungodly gas bills, the crowds of tourists and their insane moments driven by euphoria possibly, and Disneyland prices to eat. First ER just said bladder infection and to see my doc. Last night after seeing my doctor in the morning I go back to the ER near my house and they check my gallbladder. I get to talk to my doctor again tomorrow. Mousie girl gets her two month shots too.. TWO MONTHS! Heh, Friday was the first trip to the ER and I was at work in Mt. Vernon. I've been trying to get rid of this extra ipod touch for three weeks now. I've been on craigslist trying to sell it or trade for a Wii. Well I got to thinking today since I'm moving to a new state that I've only been to twice, a GPS unit would really come in handy. I know for myself this 4th of July was different from years past. I usually have my family over for a cookout and we have fireworks. This year though it didn't happen. I've Finally Arrived
For all of you reading this blog first and foremost thanks for your support and more importantly thanks for your interest in this blog. As most of you know already I’m currently deployed in Afghanistan and am writing this blog about my adventures in this country. I felt that I should put a lot of my experiences in writing so that it can serve as a living document about my experiences and hopefully use this as a springboard to potentially write a book later on in my life. I will post a blog later about why I chose to come to this country to serve mine, and the factors behind my decision later. My adventure began on September 9th at Tampa International Airport, my best friend, John “White Owl”, dropped me off and wished me the best in my journey. A couple of hours later in was waiting in Atlanta waiting for my flight to Dubai Int’l and then onward to Afghanistan. The Countdown Begins

A true Friend Why is it so hard for to men who are friends to say how they feel about one another without worrying about what others think? I guess it’s because there afraid someone’s going to accuse them of being gay. Baked Potato Soup 2
4 large potatoes 2/3 cup butter 2/3 cup flour 1 1/2 quarts milk salt and pepper to taste 4 green onions, chopped 1 cup sour cream 2 cups bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled 5 ounces cheddar cheese, grated Bake potatoes until done. Melt butter in medium-large saucepan. Slowly whisk in the flour until thoroughly blended. Gradually add milk to mixture, whisking constantly. Add salt and pepper.Simmer over low heat, stirring constantly. Cut potatoes in half. Scoop out pulp and set aside. Chop half the potatoe skins, discarding the remainder. When milk is hot, whisk in potato pulp. Add green onions and potato peels. Stir well. Add sour cream and bacon. Heat thoroughly. Add cheese gradually until melted. Garnish with chives, cheese and bacon. Serves 8

So i'm sitting here bored out of my skull on Halloween, or Samhain, whichever way that you celebrate it..and i am remembering how much fun i had as a child on this night, dressing up in my costume (which i would have ready at LEAST a month ahead of time) and going around the neighborhood and collecting massive amounts of candy that my friends and i would eat far into the rest of the night and giggling about the stupidest stuff... You know, for the longest time being single really didn't bug me, i figured more time to do what i wanted, more money in my pocket, etc. but so far that hasn't happened.
