A father, who after a brief moment of pleasure, donates a tiny little sperm that gets lucky enough to make the long swim successfully and creates a life.
A dad, who may have had nothing to do with the first part, takes that young life and in a process involving much time and patience, creates a person.
A father will occasionally take pleasure in the child’s life as long as it doesn’t interfere too much in his, all the while patting himself on the back for doing a good job.
A dad never gets to pat himself on the back because his job is never done.
A father, upon hearing of a problem, will yell and dole out punishment.
A dad, with the same problem, may still yell but will search for a solution.
A father works all day to provide for his children, but never seems to have the time for them.
A dad works all day too, but somehow manages to find moments to make special.
A father tries to find time with his children and squeezes them into his schedule.
A dad is there for his children when they need it most. Every time!
A father buys his children toys and tells them to go play.
A dad buys the same toys and says lets go play.
A father thinks his job is mostly done except for those moments that are convenient for him.
A dad knows that the child will always come first, even when it’s not convenient or easy.
He takes pleasure in what he was given because he does consider it a gift.
But most of all, a dad knows that he will never, ever have a more important job in this whole world than that of dad.
Acting like a real man isn’t going out with the boys, it’s being with your boys (or girls).
