Movie Review From Imdb
The kids will love it!.... adults, sorry enjoy the pretty colors!, 14 June 2007 7/10 Author: hoove1970 from United States *** This comment may contain spoilers *** Let's Start off with saying I'm giving this movie a 7 out of ten for children out there who love a good time. As for the adults I'd have to go with a 5 or 6. On to the review... I sat in the center of my row listening to the crowd throughout this blockbuster movie and it was a crowd pleaser. perhaps forty percent of the crowd consisted of real 'fans', meaning people who either loved the comic books or the first movie and were hoping for more. At this advance screening there are always large quantities of opportunistic freebie lovers there that don't even know what they are seeing. The writers gave the audience what they wanted in many ways with lots of laughable one-liners and schmaltzy goo to make the average crowd clap and 'ahhh' at the right moments. but it was screaming, "where is my plot" throughout the en

New York City pays $29,000 for arresting topless woman Story Highlights• Jill Coccaro, 27, accepts settlement for her 2005 arrest during topless stroll • NYC police held her for 12 hours before telling her she wouldn't be charged • Appeals court ruled in '92 that women have same right as men to go topless • Lawyer: "We hope police learn a lesson and respect the rights of women" NEW YORK (AP) -- A woman arrested for exposing her breasts has accepted a $29,000 settlement from the city, her lawyer said. Jill Coccaro, 27, was arrested on a topless stroll two years ago, despite a 1992 state appeals court ruling that concluded women should have the same right as men to take off their shirts. Coccaro, who now goes by the name Phoenix Feeley, remained in custody for 12 hours before she was told prosecutors were not going to pursue charges. Her attorney, Jeffrey Rothman, told the Daily News that his client won the civil rights settlement from the city, which did not admit or d

Moving My Hips...
I have absolutely nothing prepared, but I thought I'd type away regardless of that little bit of fluff. I usually have some form of garbage floating around in my brain. Hold that thought while I find some music to which to listen. Okay. I'm back. I'm not sure how long I'll be here, though. I have trouble keeping my hips still when I listen to anything of the Afro-Cuban blend. Seriously. With my hair streaming down my back and my body moving in ways that defy the presence of bones, people could be forgiven for confusing me with a wild gypsy with the intent to seduce. Speaking of seduction, I believe dancing seduces my own senses. It is bewitching, liberating, passionate, and fun. That it is... On that note, I'm off to do a bit of dancing. Toodles, my darlings.

The difficulties begin right away for the audience (I saw this at a screening where about 15 people showed up and you could see the pain on some of the peoples faces and a few walked out at the end of the beginning monologue by Lily.) i believe the problem lies not with the film or cast, but with the American audience. As this production was shot in New Zealand and used native actors, I wasn't sure it translated on the level that Cohen intended it to. We Americans tend to have a bit of attention Deficit Disorder. It harms otherwise perfect creations of cinematic emotion when Americans are always in a hurry with p

We all sat there at this sneak preview transfixed waiting for the next joke.... eating up all Steve Carrel and the rest of the supporting cast could dish out! The all gave sparkling performances. It was loads of fun for the whole family this time around for the "Almighty" team. I have to give it up to the writers on this one for keeping it very clean without sacrificing really good one liners and "adult" innuendos. There were a few problems with the 'over the top' dramatizations involving every animal on the planet. You were trying to ""suspend your disbelief" while all the while all to 'real' laws and political actions were taking place. It would have been just fine to

He says that I disappointed him. Yeah. I disappointed him. I hurt him. I fucked up. I got hurt too. I can't do this to either of us anymore. Lesa said to move back to TX. I can't. I don't want to. I can't give up and go back to my parents. Otherwise, will I ever really change? No, I won't. Anyone need a room mate? I promise I pay rent on time.

The house has been sold !!! No foreclosure here thank God. BUT with that news, when the final papers are all signed in 2 weeks we will have just one week to be out of here. So within 3 weeks we will be moving. At that time I will be MIA here for a few days to a week depending on how soon our internet can get hooked up at the new place. NO we dont have a place to move into yet. We are still looking at places and making phone calls.
Moving Part 2
I've been searching for a place to go. It sucks hardcore. I don't want to move out although I know that it is what is best for him and for me. I'm just going to miss seeing those dogs everyday... and miss hanging out with him before he leaves for work. I'm just really afraid that we're going to see less and less of each other. :( I put up a thing on roommates.com. Looking for anything right now. A few matches came up. It'll just be weird living with a stranger, but I doubt I'll be doing much more than sleeping and eating there. I'll probably spend most of my time in the room. *sigh* The people I sent e-mails to on roommates.com aren't asking for much more than what I'm already paying. Just hate this whole situation. I really don't want to leave and thinking about it makes me fucking cry. I'm such a fuck up.

Movie Review For Spiderman 3
This movie was good. Plenty of action and things to keep your eyes open. The problem comes in with the fact that they tried to put too much in without building the ideas and characters into strong pieces of the puzzle. They introduced at least 5 new characters that deserved stronger fleshing out bevause they are all important parts of the Spiderman story. Instead of crammong everything into a single 2+ hour movie, they easily could have made 2 90 minute + movies with what they have for a basis. See it but see it cheap

Movie Review For Fantastic 4: Rise Of The Silver Surfer
This was a decent movie. The action was good, the special effects were nice and the acting was passable. The storyline was wide open for alot of character building and plot delevopment but the makers of this film apparently cared more about product placement and getting the advertising dollar than putting meat on the bones of this movie. See it but see it cheap

Movie Review For Live Free Or Die Hard
This was a great movie if you can get past one small problem. Who really thinks the government buildings in Washington D.C. will actually be completely staffed with hundreds of people on the 4th of July weekend? If you get past that silly idea, you will enjoy the usual Die Hard roller coaster ride of great stunts and witty Bruce Willis quips. Justin Long makes a fun sidekick in this one. The kid might actually turn out to be a decent actor some day. The concept is a good one...probably because it came from a book and the movie makers added the John McClane character to the book. See it and enjoy

Movies I've Seen
holy crap i have seen alot of movies in like the last 2 months started off with spiderman 3 which was kinda good but had alot of spiderman stuff crammed into it. then i saw pirates 3 which was friggin sweet for that series, had all kinds of stuff and its kinda open ended with captain jack so they could make another one if the right story came along. then i saw die hard last week that was cool with lots of stuff blowin up and all kinds of one liners :) then i just got back from transformers and holy crap that movie is cool, i mean sure its all computer generated but still they tell a good story and u should go see it if u like that kinda thing. well thanks for takin the time to read my thoughts.

Movie Review
CB's Review of The Transformers July 4, 2007 Upon talking to a few people who had already seen The Transformers and growing up being an avid fan of the cartoon series in my youth, needless to say I was a bit skeptical of going to see such an overhyped movie. But hey, I was let go early from work and it was either the movie or 5 premature Miller Genuine Dratfs at the bar. So off I go. Once I bought my ticket and got in my seat, anticipation began to rise. The Transformers. Will this movie give Optimus Prime and Megatron it's just due? Hrmmmm... Initially I felt the beginning was quite the drag, laboring through yet another movie boasting military might and technology in America. The Bernie Mac scenes proved the comic relief needed through the arduous beginning. Bumblebee's appearance on the car lot was a very demure appearance, though he rendered himself justice as the movie went on, assimilating the appearance of GM's new 08 Camaro. Once again, the military's role in th

Bring on the rain. I'm ready to drown this pain. You said you'd always be here. Yet you're the reason for my tears. I can't understand why you felt you couldn't stay. It's why rain fills even the sunniest of my days. I wonder if the pain will ever really be gone. If I can't find a way to make it stop I won't be able to move on.
Movie Facts
Newcomers were cast to create the feel of "real people caught in dangerous situations". The cast felt like they were a gang before filming started. Filming during the scene with the Orphans was interrupted by a police chase. There were always crowds of spectators during filming, even at 3am in the freezing cold. Filming was allowed to take place uninterrupted during the entire course of the night, which was a first. Walter Hill wanted this to be an adventure film like The Guns of Navarone. When the ficticous Turnbull ACs visited a hamburger joint during filming, people fled in fear of being attacked. 1,000 extras were used at the big meeting, many coming from Riverside Drive Park. The Warriors aimed to create "tribal feeling of going into battle together, of loyalty, of support and chared goals" and to have "the audiences' sympathy as they fight off all the other gangs in the city". The scene in the mens room with the Punks was the only scene shot on set

Moving In Together!!!
Well the new relationship I was talking about has taken an unexpected turn. We are moving in together. We went to look at a house the other day because I was planning on moving and we fell in love with the house and decided to buy it. Now we are moving in together and giving it a go. Wish me luck I am very scared that it is not going to work out mainly because he is the sweetest guy I have ever known and I am afraid that the other shoe is going to fall real soon and that he is going to turn into a complete ass hole. Trust me that is what I am used to nothing but ass holes. I am just hoping that the person he has shown me is the person he really is and if that is the case we will be alright. Pray for me friends.

Movie Theater Conduct
Rules of Conduct in Movie Theaters By Rob Gonsalves The free ride is over. 95% of you are behaving poorly. Effective July 15, 2007 [o rly?], you will all follow the Rules of Conduct in Movie Theaters. These rules apply to everyone, but particularly to teenagers, people with children, and the elderly. We will also enumerate the General Guidelines for Non-Disruptive Behavior, and end with a brief summary that will be printed out and handed to all theater customers. TEENAGERS (1) APPROACHING THE THEATER (a) You will not wait until you are in line before deciding what movie to see. Neither will you debate which movie to see when it is your turn at the ticket counter, thus holding up everyone else behind you. You will have your game plan together by the time you leave the house. (b) You will not further hold up everyone behind you by arguing with the ticket seller when he or she refuses to sell you a ticket for an R-rated movie without checking your photo ID. Moving Rocks
A little boy was spending his Saturday morning playing in his sandbox. He had with him his box of cars and trucks, his plastic pail, and a shiny, red plastic shovel. In the process of creating roads and tunnels in the soft sand, he discovered a large rock in the middle of the sandbox. The boy dug around the rock, managing to dislodge it from the dirt. With a little bit of struggle, he pushed and nudged the rock across the sandbox by using his feet. (He was a very small boy, and the rock was very large.) When the boy got the rock to the edge of the sandbox however, he found that he couldn't roll it up and over the little wall. Determined, the little boy shoved, pushed, and pried, but every time he thought he had made some progress, the rock tipped and then fell back into the sandbox. The little boy grunted, struggled, pushed, & shoved; but his only reward was to have the rock roll back, smashing his chubby fingers. Finally he burst into tears of frustration. All this time th

Moving Thoughts
MOVING THOUGHTS Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift. When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us. The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had. It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives. Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they'll love you back! Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart but if it doesn't, be content it grew in yours. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forge
Moving Part 3
I am meeting someone that has a room to rent tomorrow at 5pm. He's in Aurora. He has 2 rooms, both are furnished - however I don't need the furniture. Its slightly farther from work, but I'll deal with it. I mapquest-ed the address and its still in the same general area. Hopefully this works out well. I just need a place to rest my head at night I guess. I know I'm going to be miserable anywhere I go, but its a start. We'll see what happens.

Moving... Part 4
I met a guy yesterday that has a room for rent. Alec went with me to make sure he wasn't some psycho. The house is in S. Aurora... off of Ogden. (to those that know the area). Its a nice little house. I liked it. The rooms are smaller than I am used to, but no biggie. There's enough room for my desk, bed, and a TV. The guy was nice too. He's just waiting for his ex to move out. I'll most likely be moving there in August. Its definitely going to be a huge change for me. I think at first I might be a little uncomfortable, but I'm sure I'll be fine. Not to mention that Alec has already told me that I have to come back over to watch 4400 and Heroes and UFC. I know that will make things a lot easier. Anyway, today is a day of cleaning up. I need to bleach my bathtub and clean the bathroom and kitchen. I also need to clean out the bedroom and pack up stuff I don't use on a regular basis. Colette is coming down from Michigan over the weekend to see a band play in Chic

The Movie Critic Syndrome
Have you ever noticed that the only movies worth a crap to major critics are deeply emotional, and usually depressing? If everyone made movies just to win major awards, we'd have no movies for 9 months of the year, and then the 3 months before selection came, you'd have a barrage of remakes of The Crying Game. Thankfully, most movies are money-motivated, and thus appeal to the general mass. The critics always hate these movies. You'd never see "Die Hard" win an award. Why? Because it's an action movie, and no one's going to give it an award because it doesn't make you cry at any given moment. IF there is so much as a single automatic weapon in your movie, or usually also an explosion, you can kiss the "Best Actor" award goodbye. Why is this? Is it not just as challenging to convince an audience that you're a stone-cold killer than it is to convince them that you are truly in remorse of the death of Old Yeller? It comes down to the Movie Critic Syndrome. These people hate mov

Moving
For those who really know me on here you know I have talked about moving. I am leaving midnight tonight to return to Rhode Island where I am now going to be living. I am very excited and nervous as I have been in Colorado all my life. As I take on this journey in life I have a lot of mixed emotions. I no longer will be so physically close to the people I grew up with. However this is for the best a fresh start but no worries I have internet there and will be occasionally.
Moving On
You would think by now, I would know my way around, I shouldn't miss you so badly, I should be on familiar ground. How many more lonely years, must meander by, until I learn the lesson, it does no good to cry. What manner of iron will, must some people possess, to be always looking forward, to never accept regress. Perhaps if I was willing, to let someone take me by the hand, they could show me a happy place, in this unfamiliar land. Perhaps I'm only homesick, for all the joys that once were mine, I must accept that they and you, belong to another place and time. But I know that deep within my heart, there's a place where only you reside, and when the pain of loneliness comes, it knows that is where I hide. So if sometimes it seems to you, I'm clinging to the past, it's mostly because I can't yet accept, that our love didn't last. Moving
Hey ya'll. I know I've been talkin' about moving. I pickup up the travel trailer I bought today, I will start living in it in about a month. For the time being, to save money, I'm gonna stay with my grandparents for a month, get the trailer the way I want it and all. I won't be able to be on as much I usually am, but I will when I can. I'm moving my stuff this weekend out of the house. After I post this, I will pack up my computer and be using my grandfathers computer until I move into the trailer. Ya'll be good or be good at it. Moving Once Again...
Well, we were supposed to be3 moving to California this weekend but are we??? Nope...we are moving to Burlington, Iowa. Why? Troy has to, or actually chose to start working there on Monday which he'll probably start on Tuesday or Wednesday since we have to find someplace to live until the end of the year. Anyway, he chose to go to this job INSTEAD of taking the kids and I out to California, so now we're stuck here in central U.S.A until the end of the year, since this job goes until then. Once again, cold weather, BAD weather, you name it. Needless to say, I'm not a happy woman! I've been busy the past couple of days getting things packed up and of course we still have most of our stuff still in storage in Illinois which also includes things the kids will need for school along with some warmer clothes, although there aren't too many clothes in storage so we'll need to do clothes shopping for said warmer clothes. Point being is this....we're NOT going to Cali as of yet and I'm
Movie Recommendation For The Day!
TOXIC ZOMBIES! When some untested chemicals are used in an attempt to destroy marijuana fields up in the mountains the growers themselves are also sprayed. The effects of exposure are nearly instantaneous, violence, aggression, sickness, and eventually an insatiable thirst for blood! Cole, his wife Polly and young brother (who is mentally handicapped) and sister whose parents have already been slaughtered must try to survive the night and escape the terror! With the toxic zombies after them, it won’t be an easy task! An extremely scarce and recommended horror movie full of bloody violence, gory mutilation, and edgy zombie menace! If you've seen it...comment!!! Mark and Lina
Movies
is it just me but am I the only one that thought both the simpson and transformers is not worth the hype. The simpson was just any other simpson episode nothing special. Transformer was more of people watching people watching the transformer and come on the final battle between good and evil. Megatron and Optimus Prime and some goofy nerdy kid kills megatron give me a break. Maybe it is just me.
Moving.. Moving.. Moving...

Moving... Part 5
Ok... so I've been talking about moving for awhile now... I am actually moving on Friday. I'll be in S. Aurora for awhile :P I need to finish packing... my bedroom right now is full of boxes! oy. I don't like packing... it makes me sad because I'm forced to go through things I haven't looked at in a long time. I'm excited about moving, but at the same time, I'm nervous... I'm leaving a comfort zone and stepping into a new chapter of my life. Another hassle is changing everything over to the new address... I'm also going to get a P.O. Box. I had a lot of trouble with getting my mail when I first moved up here... My dad sent me one of those pre-paid credit card things with a couple hundred bucks on it and it was never delivered... plus a few other things - cards and what not. I truly believe it was the mail carrier. I complained to the post office, but not much was done... I did start receiving my mail after that but I was dismayed at the service. *shrug* We'll see how tha

Movie Reviews.
Okay I love going to the movies so here are some reviews for the ones I have seen. The Simpson's Movie. Awsome, diffently better then the regular show on TV. I hope you all get a chance to see it. Transformers. Man been waiting years for this movie and it wasnt to bad. If you forget the transformers from the 80's the movie becomes a whole lot better. The Bourne Ulitmatium. Good movie, lots of action. Doesnt match up to the books but still worth seeing it. Thats all for now.

Moving To Jeffersonville
I'm in Lexington and next saturday I'm moving to Jeffersonville Indiana. The rent will be alot cheaper than I'm paying now, the place is bigger. I love the new apt, but the kitchen is small. However I can expand my counter space into the dinning area. I'm swinging by my balls on this. Starting over in a new place with no job, and no friends. June lives near indianapolis about 1 1/2 hours maybe? Maybe more not sure. Tamatha is there, and I never know what is going to happen with her from one day to the next. We were supposed to be married and living with each other already. Then it got put back a month. Now we don't know, and I'm not moving in. Yes we moved fast, but I do what I say I'm going to do. Her unreliability has made me very upset. She cancels plans on me. For logical reasons but she doesn't include me in the things that came up. So I decided to move to Jeffersonville for myself. I wouldn't of done this if I had it all over again but! I quit my job and turne
Moving/vacation
I am moving this week, and on Friday heading off for vacation to AZ with my best friend. We will be gone for a week. I will not be back online until I get back.
Movie Pick Of The Week!
SO SWEET SO DEAD As amazing a cast as that is it’s important to point out that there are even more recognizable faces throughout. More than we had room to list! Some consider this the ultimate giallo; the pinnacle of the genre that achieves its perfection with calculated finesse and effortless perfection beyond a fault. Others consider it reprehensible; cynical trash that’s nihilistic and cruel with no redeeming values whatsoever. Around here we tend to lean decidedly toward the former rather than the latter. A murderer has taken up the position of moral redeemer and begins to violently murder the unfaithful wives of the local jet set leaving behind only bloody bodies and photographs of the victims caught in the throes of adulterous passion. Inspector Capuana is the man in charge of the investigation. As the murders continue and the frustration of not being able to ‘step on too many toes’ builds inside, Capuana finds himself obsessed with the details of the case. There is relentless t

I must confess to being a bit scared of moving on my own completely. It's stressful. It's as if someone opened the flood gates and started pouring down bills, all due to be paid at one time, not to mention the actual expense of moving. And then, of course, there is the stress of moving my shtuff from one place to another, trusting that the males I have enlisted to help will be gentle enough not to rough up, bang, nick, scratch or otherwise fuck up my furniture. Oh dear God! I also have no clue as to what I need, as far as the random crap that makes a functioning house. Does anyone ever get all this togehter on the first try? I have no clue, but I feel better. Now, if I could get my stuff to pack itself....

Moving To The South!!
MOVING TO THE SOUTH!! May 30, 2007: Just moved to Murfreesboro, Tennessee from Chicago, Illinois. Now, this is a city that knows how to live! Beautiful, sunny days and warm balmy evenings. What a place! I watched the sunset from a park while lying on a blanket. It was beautiful. I've finally found my home. I love it here. June 14, 2007: Really heating up. Got to 100 degrees today. Not a problem. Live in an air-conditioned home, drive an air-conditioned car. What a pleasure to see the sun everyday like this. I'm turning into a sun worshipper. June 30, 2007: Had the backyard landscaped with western plant s today. Lots of cactus and rocks. The yard is a breeze to maintain! No more mowing the lawn for me. Another scorcher today, but I love living in Murfreesboro. July 10, 2007: The temperature hasn't been below 100 degrees all week. How do people get used to this kind of heat? At least it's kind of windy, but getting used to

Movies With A Twist ..beware...
The beware is..it's LONG :) a list came out recently of films with a TWIST that included: I KNOW IT's A LOT to read :) anyway...can you think of a movie that was missed?.. a good one...not "The Village" or "Sleepaway Camp" (which is actually not bad for a horror film :) 1.Movie: The Planet of the Apes (1968) Director: Franklin J. Schaffner The Setup: A group of American astronauts crash land on a world where apes talk and rule, while humans are primitive slaves with no voting rights. The Twist: The planet is actually Earth; the space ship traveled in time instead of space. Fun Fact: The script was actually written by twist-loving Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling. 2.Movie: Star Wars: Episode V — The Empire Strikes Back (1980) Director: Irvin Kershner The Setup: After blowing up the Death Star in 1977's Episode IV — A New Hope, Luke Skywalker trains to become a Jedi while Vader and the Empire strike back, frequently. The Twist: Darth Vader is Luke's father. Tho

Moving Day!!
Finally moving out of this hell hole of a place on Friday i am so excited. I started working finally again at a cleaning company and i love it. I have only been working for a month and i am dropping my second check friday on my security deposit. The place is huge about 1200 sq ft and it is beautiful. There is a weeping willow tree right in the front yard. I wish that i could move in now. Its just going to be Nathan me Lynn and Shawn. I am tired of Steves lies and all of his other bullshit and hes not working so i don't need him to waste my money. It'll be cheaper for me too so i will always have money when i need it and i'm right next to the mall so its going to be badass!! It hurts to realize that me and steve are no longer together but everyone tells me i deserve better than him because of the shit that he puts me and Nathan through. Nathan deserves better than him he can sit in his grandmas basement for the rest of his life and work to pay child support for his other kid a

Movie Theater Mayhem!
A man was sprawled across three entire seats in a theater. When the usher came by and noticed this, he whispered to the man, "Sorry sir, but you're only allowed one seat." The man groaned but didn't budge. The usher became impatient. "Sir," the usher said, "if you don't get up from there, I'm going to have to call the manager." Again, the man just groaned, which infuriated the usher who turned and marched briskly back up the aisle in search of his manager. In a few moments, both the usher and the manager returned and stood over the man. Together the two of them tried repeatedly to move him, but with no success. Finally, they summoned the police. The cop surveyed the situation briefly. "All right, buddy. What's your name?" "Sam," the man moaned. "Where ya from, Sam?" the cop asked. "The balcony."
Moving Forward
You are over it You may have wasted the entire day, week or month up to this point. Yet that's no reason to continue with the unproductive, negative pattern. No matter what has gone on before, you can make the most of right now. Any prior ineffectiveness cannot stop you from being truly and purposefully effective in this moment. You may have made a lot of mistakes and errors in judgment on your way to where you are. But that has nothing to do with where you can choose to go from here. Don't worry about getting over the past. You are over it because you are here right now. Right now, your best dreams beckon. Right now, there is plenty that you can do. Can you feel the incredible freedom and opportunity that this moment represents? Take hold of that freedom, seize this precious, promising moment and live the life you are meant to live. -- Ralph Marston
Moving Into The Next Week :)
This past summer has been difficult in that my place of employment where I had been getting 40+ hrs a week, suddenly took it upon themselves to cut back all relief's, like myself, hours to less than 32 hrs a week. While I was at a point in my life prior to this where I was getting comfortable with all my bills etc., it has gotten to the point of robbing Peter to pay Paul so to speak this summer just to make ends flow on through and I had been afraid to do much in order to expend money that I might need for something else. Not a fun summer. Thankfully, we had a meeting at work Saturday wherein they announced that that policy has now been lifted after examining Federal Laws and the organization's policies. Relief folk are now defined as contractors/temporary personnel and so we can now be getting up to 40 hrs a week! Woooo hoooo.... the 24-32 hrs/wk this summer has been killing my livelihood and budget. I am sooooo wishing that it would mean that we would be eligible for overti
Movie Review...... Stardust
Very fun and fairy tale like movie..... Trailer: StardustFlixster - Share Movies Plot: From the imaginations of best-selling author Neil Gaiman and director Matthew Vaughn comes "Stardust," this summer's one totally original fantasy epic that is destined to enchant and excite audiences of all ages. Following the adventures of a young man who sets out on a quest to prove his love, and finds far more than he bargained for, "Stardust" takes on every fairy tale in which anyone ever wanted to believe. From wicked witches to dashing princes, flying pirates to dueling swordsmen, magical spells to mystical destinies, it all adds up to a funny, romantic tale of true love and high adventure unlike any other. "Stardust" begins in the sleepy English village of Wall, so named for the cobblestone wall that has, for hundreds of years, kept the villagers safely apart from the strange, supernatural realm that lies just on the other side. It is here that young Tristan Throne (CHARLIE COX) makes a

Moving On! (the Truth About Goodbye)
What do you say at this point? I'm sorry that we didn't see the signs sooner. That we couldn't both be happy together. I guess I just want a chance for everyone to hear my side. I am sure that everyone knows Juan's side of the story or his twist on what is going on. So let me lay it all out there, everything and then you can decide with an open mind what you want to believe and what you think about me. Everything was great when Juan and I met. We were happy and trying to get things together. About a month after we met I got my settlement from my workers compensation case. We spent that on some bills, and Just living cause I was still without a job from my car accident. Three months after we met we moved into our own place together, I had gotten a job. A couple months after that I got the first portion of my settlement money from my car accident. I paid back some debts. I payed our rent for the entire year off. I paid past due bills, Mine and some of His. Everything wa

It's true that I recently quit my job as a shift manager at a local resort casino, but I've never licked a pickle in my life. Moving On...
I hate what I’ve become; I feel like I lost sight of what is really important to me. I let myself become someone’s play toy. I guess I am only good enough to hangout with if he wants some. I really for once thought I was special to someone; then I realized he only told me the things I wanted to hear to get into my pants. The first time anything happened he swore to me that he didn’t plan on that happening. Now, sadly I learned that girls do get attached from sex and that sex is pretty much only just gratification for most men. Its time for this little dolly to move on. Just like most of my friends said; I do deserve better.
The Movie Redline
Ok so I watched that movie redline tonight and oh my god have they totally run out of material they gotta steal stuff from movies from the 80's???? In one of the early scenes it shows a woman looking at a crash photo of her dead father and several things are wrong with the editing job done here. first off I believe they said it was nscra race that he was in and the car has winston cup stickers on it. two it said he died in 2001 so winston cup was defunct by then, three when they cut to the video sequence the name on the car is Cole Trickle....They stole from the main crash sequence on Days of Thunder!!!! How crappy is that!!!! Not only is this whole sequence historically inaccurate in every way possible but they did not even bother editing the name on the freeking car. I say lame and we should all write the studio telling them to have better attention to detail!
Movie Stores Need A "shitty" Section.
Movie stores need a "Shitty" section. It's like everything starts out happy and the guy has lots of money and a beautiful girl who loves him then gradually he loses it all and in the end he dies. Yay. It's demented that people find it entertaining to watch people be miserable. They usually call them drama or something. I dunno, maybe they are Drama. Who cares. The point is that there's a specific category that I think all these movies should be stuck into. And it shouldn't just be drama because some dramas are sweet. Like that one where you see Nicole Kidman's boobs. Movie stores need to revamp their entire drama section and replace it with a "See Nicole Kidman's Boobs" section. And instead of all the garbage they have before and after the boob scene, they should replace it with footage of John Goodman's ballhair under a microscope. The video store Crazy Mikes has an "employee recommendations" section. What a load of crap that is. These scrumbags walked in with a high school dip
2 Movies
Yesterday I saw 2 different movies in the theater. The 1st one I saw was The Brave One starring Jodie Foster and Terrence Howard. It was an excellent movie! Had plenty of action and the story line was fabulous. The 2nd movie I saw was Eastern Promises. Ugh, what a dud. It was terrible acting, and the storyline was just strange. Its not a good sign when people are laughing in the theater when someone gets their throat cut because the scene was so terribly done.

Moving
I am originally from California, and grew up in Oregon, then i came to Georgia my next stop will be North Carolina, I am extremely excited about this move. I have no reason to stay here in Georgia, I cant wait to walk away from here witht he good and bad memories in the last three years.....My move to NC I believe will bring good energy into my life and luckily I will have a friend already there, who I gave much respect to for moving to a place where she knew nobody, but had the courage to relocate there. Many people are questioning me because I have decided to make this move, I dont care what they think, this is what I want to do, and will stand on my own 2 feet and flip the page to the next chapter in my life. Hopefully its a great chapter and all the chapters after it are just as good.

Movie Review: Chaplin (1992)
As I get older, I seem to like classic movies more and more. The classic films I like the best are the silent pictures. I guess because the lack of the actors' voices and sound effects cause me to really pay attention to the acting and body language of the characters. One of the best of the silent film age was Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin. Plot: Chaplin helps co-write his autobiography by retelling of his rise and fall in the American film industry. Likes: While the story is told in flashbacks, it is told in many neatly controlled subplots.; We see the good, bad and the ugly of both CC himself but also his friends, lovers and co-workers.; We get to see how Hollywood influences and is influenced by CC and silent films. Dislikes: The film shows little about his childhood, but I believe it is because his autobiography covers his childhood very little. Favorite Scene: CC and his friends are escaping from the law in Salt Lake City, Utah. The whole scene is filmed like how it woul
Movie Review: All The King's Men (1949)
As a follower of American politics and political power, I like watching films that examine how the US political system can be used and abused. This film looks at how at times politics can be as messy as a mob war. Plot: A self-taught lawyer/farmer rises and falls in Southern politics. Likes: It expresses how power, ambition and the idea of bettering mankind can become corrupted by those who fight corruption.; There are no "good guys" that redeem themselves, but a group of very human and flawed who struggle to keep their heads above water.; It shows how at one time American politics was more like a mob war between candidates that would use violence and bribes to control others.; The acting is great with some good monologues. Dislikes: The ending is a bit disappointing because it ends abruptly when more could have been added to the storyline.; Not an original story since it is based on the real-life politician Gov. Huey "King Fish" Long (D-LA) who was in power in the late 1930s.
Movie Review The Queen (2006)
As a historian and history teacher, I am always a bit pensive when I watch a major film on a historical topic, person, event or general time period. Film makers have tendency to rewrite things to bit fit the pace or running time of their movie. This causes me to wonder how accurate are they being. Well this film didn't give those feelings. Plot: Queen Elizabeth II tries to steer the British royal family though the events surrounding the death and burial of Fmr. Princess Diana Spencer-Wales. And new UK Prime Minister tries to help her do it right. Likes: The storyline is really three subplots revolving around Diana's death. This shows us different levels of personality of all the characters.; The royal family is shown realistically. We see that they argue, love, disappoint and support each other as best they can within the social fabric of their class. Tony Blair is shown as a more reserved, family-oriented Bill Clinton who wants to find balance between his modern ideas and the tr
Movie Review: Bicentennial Man (1999)
The double Ph.D. and popular sci-fi writer Issac Asimov shares one of his best short stories to everyone in this film. Plot: A robot evolves from household tool to freed human being over 200 years in the near future. Likes: While mostly a drama, there are well placed comedy scenes that show why Robin Williams was cast as the robot.; It visualizes the saying "The More Things Change, The More They Stay The Same." It shows human technology advance but not human fear of the unknown. This makes the future look and feel more realistic. Dislikes: I read the short short in college, and found the film lacking many key legal scenes and full of storyline add-on that aren't in the original storyline.; I found the film a bit too long. I think a good 30-45 minutes could have been cut out without hurting the overall film. Rated PG for language and some sexual content. Kids Caution: I think this a film that most kids would find too boring to watch. Prequel/Sequel News: None Out of
Movie Review: How To Eat Fried Worms (2006)
While this sounds like a title for some crazy cooking show, this really a kids film that my kids like and got recently on dvd. Plot: During the first day of his new school year, a fifth grade boy squares off against a bully and winds up accepting a dare that could change the balance of power within the class. Likes: The movies shows funny situations in which young boys deal with school bullies, girls and saving face in front of one's peers.; It exposes the truth about bullies and their power (or lack of it) over others. Dislikes: Many gross scenes of eating worms in various ways. (My kids laughed, I almost puked.) Rated PG for mild bullying and some crude humor. Kids Caution: Nothing bad. Kids love it. Prequel/Sequel News: There is a made for tv version from back in 1985. Out of four stars, I give it three stars. I liked how humor was used to defuse stressful scenes, but the worm cooking/eating was sickening.
Movie Review: Casino Royale (2006)
Sometimes in the post-9/11 world, a killing machine is needed to keep the world save. And 007 is that killing machine. Plot: James Bond is given one of his first missions as a 00 agent. He must win a card game so to keep millions from falling into hands of terrorists. Likes: We see JB as a ruthless hired killer that has the instinct of a cop and endurance of a prizefighter.; We see him start his career, start wearing tuxs and drinking dry martinis.; More of a traditional spy film with lots of action and great stunts.; The card game is pretty exciting. Dislikes: After the card game, the film starts to lose focus. The writers try to expand the storyline by adding slow scenes and borrowing storyline aspects from other Bond films.; No Q and few gadgets. Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violent action, a scene of torture, sexual content and nudity. (For Bond film, it was pretty clean in the sex department. And the only nudity is of JB himself.) Kids Caution: While I would
Movie Review: Rugrats In Paris-the Movie (2000)
Chucky, Tommy, Phil, Lil and company have won America's heart, but now can they conquer Europe? Plot: Fate and misadventure combine to help Chucky's dad to find a new wife while visting Paris, France. Likes: More like the tv show in which we see the relationships of both the kids and their parents.; There are new enemies and friends that keep the storyline going.; It pokes funny at Americans visiting France but not really Frenchmen themselves.; Some star-power is added with voices by Casey Kasem, Susan Sarandon and John Lithgow. Dislikes: A relatively new character, Susie Carmichael, is barely in the film with amounts to a cameo appearance. While her scene is funny, it adds little to the film. Rated G. Kids Caution: A great kids film that just right for adults too. Prequel/Sequel News: This film is the second of three films. It comes after The Rugrats Movie (1998) and is followed by Rugrats Go Wild (2003) Out of four stars, I give this film 3 1/2 stars. A very film
Movie Review: Beatles Diary (1996)
Minor adventures about a ready big band are told through the point of view of Alf Bicknell. Plot: A documentary about the minor adventures of The Beatles told by their driver/roadie. Likes: Tons of funny, positive stories about the rise and daily life of the 1960's super-group.; The background music is very of minor and big hits rarely heard anymore. Dislikes: At 59 minutes, it tends to feel like 590 minutes since Alf's storytelling style is a bit longwinded.; Not really a problem with the video, but I found it sad to learn that Liverpool has turned into a "Beatles" tourist trap and lost its natural look. Rated: Not Rated. While there is some drug references, nothing is shown. Kids Caution: Most kids would find it too boring to watch. Out of four stars, I give it three stars. Great memories, but a bit long.
Movie Review: Mrs. Brown (1997)
Even royalty is allowed to grieve. And then move on. Plot: Queen Victoria is deeply depressed after the death of her husband, disappearing from public. Her servant Brown, who adores her, through caress and admiration brings her back to life, but that relationship creates scandalous situation and is likely to lead to monarchy crisis. Likes: A great cast of British actors that Americans will recognize from other feature films and tv shows.; A great period piece that shows how life was really like for the royal court from the 1860's to late 1880's.; The film never crosses the line from where Brown's and the Queen's friendship becomes a love affair. But it shows how it could have. Dislikes: Slow at times.; It doesn't explain the politics of the times very well, so the secondary storyline of Parliament is confusing. Rated PG for a beating, language and brief nudity. Kids Caution: Probably most kids would find this film too boring and slow to watch. Prequel/Sequel News: Non
Movie Review: Stand By Me (1986)
In the 1980's, coming-of-age films were big. This film would spark the development like "Dirty Dancing" (1987) and the tv series "The Wonder Years". Plot: Four friends journey to find a body of a missing boy so to get a bit of glory. Along the way, they learn about life and each other. Likes: This feature four future stars that would go onto big roles in the later 1980's and 1990's.; There are a good variety of slow and fast-paced scenes that help define the characters and storyline.; A good example of Stephen King's early writings. Dislikes: It is supposed to be set in the 1960's, but the film gives it more of an "it could happen at anytime in any town" feeling.; It is a "chick flick" for young adults. Rated R for violence, language and gross scenes. Kids Caution: Most kids would find it boring so not really want to watch it. Prequel/Sequel News: None Out of four stars, I give this film three stars. A good pace for a "chick flick".
Movie Review: The Rugrats Movie (1998)
A very popular Nickelodeon tv show made its debut in feature film exploring the world of tiny kids. Plot: Tommy and friends adjust to his new baby brother, Dil, as they go on an adventure in the wilderness. Likes: Interesting adult and children characters that everyone can relate to.; A good transition film between the early shows and the newer shows.; Addresses real-world issues (i.e. change and responsibility) in a funny and non-threatening way. Dislikes: None Rated G. Kids Caution: While a great family film, it does have one scene involving monkeys "hurting" the babies that very young kids may find scary. Prequel/Sequel News: This film was followed up with Rugrats In Paris: The Movie (2000) and Rugrats Go Wild (2003) Out of four stars, I give it four stars. I love it.
Movie Review: The Black Dahlia (2006)
The US public's attention was captured by the brutal murder of Elizabeth Short, a young starlet looking for her big break in Hollywood. This film is a fictionalized solution to this real life unsolved crime. Plot: The case is seen through the eyes of two LAPD homicide cops and how it affected their lives. Likes: The film captures the golden age of Hollywood and late 1940's in which cops, the mob and movie stars ruled. Dislikes: The writers use sex scenes to fill dead storyline too much.; The murder case becomes lost in a subplot that slows down the film.; And when the main murder story is discussed, it is told so confusing that it is hard to determine who did what to whom and why.; I found the acting coming across as being too dramatic and unnatural. Rated R for strong violence, some grisly images, sexual content and language. Kids Caution: This is not a kids film for exactly why it is Rated R. Out of four stars, I give it two stars. Classic Hollywood is well done, bu

Moving Forward
I recently got out of a relationship with the true love of my life. Its unfortunate for me since I truly love this man and he claims to love me with all his heart as well, its just things couldn't be worked out on my behalf. However, I know that this adventure has brought with it triumphs and left behind some good memories and lessons as well as a broken heart. I know now that I must learn to love the one I claim to love unconditionally. All the little things that aren't relevant I should not let get the best of me. I know now, where my mistakes lie, a little too late though. But it'll help me for the future. I just wish there was a fast forward button to get me through this, even though I know I am strong enough to over come this and anything that comes my way, its just getting through this phase that I dont want to deal with. But, what's life without pain? Isn't that how we learn to be stronger and wiser for anything that comes our way? I believe so. I've always been a ve

Movie Review: House Of Wax (2005)
Somewhat of a vehicle for Paris Hilton to make the transition from tv roles into the world of feature films, House Of Wax (2005) modernizes a 1953 classic horror film by the same name but does little to honor it. Plot: Friends accidentally falls into a trap by the Sinclair brothers to become permanent members of a wax museum. Likes: Methods of death are both inventive and a "hat-tip" to slasher films of old.: The set design (i.e. wax museum and old creepy house) are done really well.; Hilton is really not too bad of an actress. You can see her potential.; A few story twists that are surprising both not too over played. Dislikes: There is a point in the film that just don't make sense: One of the characters isn't killed by being sprayed in hot wax even though he should have been burned to death or at least suffocate due to his skin not being able to breathe.; There is also moment in the film that the writers or director could have paid tribute to the 1953 version. The two main
Movie Review: The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)
This is one of my most favorite musicals of all time. I think I have seen this film either on tv or VHS over 10 tens, but this is the first time I have got it on dvd format. Plot: Brad and Janet try to stop Dr. Frank-N-Furter and his gang from taking over Earth. Likes: Great songs. Memorable acting by the up-and-coming stars of Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon.; Cameo by Meatloaf. Dislikes: The second half is a bit slow going with more storyline and lesser quality songs. Rated R for gore, sexuality and mature themes. Kids' Caution: This is not a film for children. There are many references to homosexuality and bisexuality along with a violent death scene. Out of four stars, I give it 3 1/2 stars. The songs are great for the most part, but it does get slow at times.
Movie Review: Chicken Little (2005)
Ever wondered what happened after the sky fell? Well, Chicken Little answers these questions with action and a cool soundtrack. Plot: Chicken Little tries to save the world and regain the respect of his father by fighting aliens. Likes: Good soundtrack.; Good animation.; A nice moral tale about the importance of parent-child communication.; Great references and inside-jokes to various sci-fi movies and books. Dislikes: The non sci-fi jokes aren't funny.; Has a slow start.; The characters are stereotypes of the various kinds of kids you went to middle school with.; I think some of the characters could have been better cast. Rated PG for comic violence. Kid's Caution: A good film for kids that is no more violent than a Bugs Bunny cartoon. Out of 4 stars, I give it 3 stars. It has a good story moral, but could have been better casted.
Movie Review: Grease (1978)
In the late 1970's, Broadway went Hollywood by turning one of America's favorite musicals in a major motion picture. Plot: Danny and Sandy try to get through their teenage years and high school during the late 1950's. Likes: The songs are very memorable.; There are tons of future movie and tv stars, plus a few from classic tv.; A fast-paced story. Dislikes: The acting of John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John is a bit raw, but they both show potential. Rated PG for adult situations and language. Kid's Caution: Not too bad for them. I give it 2 1/2 stars. Great music very some raw talent.
Movie Review: Evita (1996)
Broadway meets Hollywood with this film version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit musical. Plot: "The hit musical based on the life of Evita Duarte, a B-picture Argentinian actress who eventually became the wife of Argentinian president and dictator Juan Perón, and the most beloved and hated woman in Argentina." (IMDB.Com) Likes: The music and lyrics are the best. Every song tells a small part of the storyline.; Madonna, Antonio Banderas and Jonathan Pryce all have good voices.; A cool political drama. Dislikes: A very long film at 135 minutes.; Can be slow at times. Rated PG for very mild violence. Kid's Caution: Nothing really bad for them. It may bore them though. I give it 4 stars. It is great despite its length.
Movie Review: Domestic Disturbance (2001)
Plot: "A divorced father discovers that his 12-year-old son's new stepfather is not what he made himself out to be." (IMBD.Com) Likes: A good traditional thriller where no one believes the kid as he discovers the truth. Dislikes: Not one of John Travolta's best acting stints. Rated R for violence and sexuality. Kid's Caution: Not for children. I give it 2 stars. Very traditional but also very predictable.
Movie Review: Cold Mountain (2003)
Plot: "In the waning days of the American Civil War, a wounded soldier embarks on a perilous journey back home to Cold Mountain, North Carolina to reunite with his sweetheart." (IMBD.Com) Likes: Great battlefield scenes.; It shows how the romance between the two main characters develops.; The characters are interesting to follow. Dislikes: Tries to be a modern "Gone With The Wind" (1939) too much. Rated R for violence and (well done) adult scenes. Kid's Caution: Not for children period. I give it 3 stars. A good story with interesting characters.
Movie Review: Charlie And The Chocolate Factory (2005)
Plot: Charlie is invited to tour a chocolate factory with four other children. The event changes his life forever. Likes: It moves quickly through the character set up, then slows down with the chocolate factory scenes so you can take in all the background.; Had just enough songs to breakup the action, but the were not over done or campy.; Colorful backgrounds and characters. Dislikes: A few scenes were a little too scary for little (5 and younger) kids. Rating: PG for language and quirkiness. Parent's Guide: Good for anyone over 5 years old. Out of 4 Stars: 3 Stars; Just needed to be a bit less scary.
Movie Review- The Grudge (2004)
Japanese horror was introduced to the US through The Grudge. Plot: "An American nurse living and working in Tokyo is exposed to a mysterious supernatural curse, one that locks a person in a powerful rage before claiming their life and spreading to another victim." (Source: IMDB.Com) There is also a bit of a crime story mixed into it. Acting: For the most part everyone was good. No one over acted. Special Effects: The ghosts are very scary and realistic of how an unrested spirit would appear. The scars aren't too FX-based so the movie allows your imagination to really fill in the blanks. If I Made The Movie: I would have better explained the background story. I would given it a less predictable ending. Prequel/Sequel Info.: None Rated PG-13 for Violence. Parent's Guide: A good Halloween film for older kids (12+) Out of 4 Stars....2 1/2 Stars. A little confusing storyline, but it has good scares to help it out.
Movie Review-catwoman (2004)
When you mix one part beautiful woman, one part love interest, one part superhero/villain and one part revenge tale, you get Catwoman. Plot: "A shy woman, endowed with the speed, reflexes, and senses of a cat, walks a thin line between criminal and hero, even as a detective doggedly pursues her, fascinated by both of her personas." (Source-IMDB.Com) Beyond this there is a tale of revenge and corporate greed. Likes: Halle Berry makes a great Catwoman in that she captures how the character is part good and evil. It is too bad she could not be used in another Batman film as this role.; The fight scenes are well executed as the storyline goes at a quick pace. Dislikes: Some of the special effects looked too computerized.; The villain, Sharon Stone's Laurel Hedare, was given too little screen time. Rated PG-13 for violence and adult situations. Parent's Guide: Nothing too bad. A great film for girls to see so they can see the power of womanhood. Prequel/Sequel Information:
Movie Review-"the Chronicles Of Riddick" (2004)
"The Chronicles of Riddick" is a very difficult to follow tale of this alien (Riddick) who is destined to kill this other alien-Necro guy. It all boils down to running gun-battle. The visual effects and fight scenes are pretty good. The actors' lines aren't since it doesn't help you understand the storyline. I found the bad guys (the Necro-aliens) interesting. They reminded me of the Borg from "Star Trek". The acting is ok, but it is mostly a lot of running, fighting and sweating. The women characters are just eye-candy. I heard that this was based on a comic book. Maybe it didn't translate well into a movie. Especially the ending, Riddick kills the Lord Marshal and for whatever reason gets to become the new ruler. Out of 4 Stars...2 Stars.
Movie Review-"ghosts Of The Abyss" (2003)
More a documentary and/or filmed diary entry, "Ghosts of The Abyss" details the undersea adventure of James Cameron's sub trip to the RMS Titanic around Sept. 11, 2001. Shown in both a 60 minute and 90 minute format, it shows as the subs find and explore the ship over about 3 days. The ship's history, death, crew and design are discussed in some detail. The explorers even debate what actions were taken by the senior officers the night and morning of April 14th and 15th of 1912. Without giving anything away, I would say the explorers almost have near disaster themselves. And they make a few new discoveries too. It is well filmed, but Cameron's commentary was a little too dramatic for me. Maybe he was trying to expand on the human drama of the disaster, but I thought it make the film look campy and fake. Out of 4 Stars....3 Stars; I would suggest you watch this before watching "Titanic" (1997) to get a more historical view of events.
Movie Review-"the Spongebob Squarepants Movie" (2004)
Ever since I started buying pay-per-view movies through my cable company, I never have bought such a stupid movie in my life like "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie". While it had a good premise of having SBSP and Patrick Star off on an underwater adventure to save SBSP's boss, it fell flat with bad jokes and no new animation technology being used. I like the "SBSP" tv show, but it just doesn't translate well to a 90 minute movie. My kids thought it was good, but they laughed very rarely while watching it. I think what really ruined it was that a lot of the minor characters that make the tv show funny and more dynamic (like Squidward, Sandy the Squarrel and Mrs. Puff) weren't used or shown much in the storyline. It did have some good musical numbers that made fun of pirate songs and 80's metal bands. Out of 4 Stars...1 1/2 Stars; It was just pitiful.
Movie Review-"shark Tale" (2004)
When I saw this film, it was on pay-per-view a while ago. My kids had seen it at school so it wasn't new to them, but it was to me. Basically I found it to be a kids version of "The Godfather" (1972) with "A Bug's Life" (1998) storyline. The characters were funny but not original. The animation was very good, but Reef City looked just like Tin Can City. It had a hip-hop feel to it. An interesting thing about it was its 2 underlining themes: race relations and homosexual tolerance. The race relations theme was set up in the sharks being like Whites and the fish being like Blacks. The homosexual tolerance theme was more covert. It was referred to by showing homosexuality through the guise of vegetarianism. I don't know if kids picked that up, but it was clear enough for adults. Out of 4 Stars, I give it 2 1/2 stars. Good animation but could have had more orginality.
Movie Review-"sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow" (2004)
"SCWT" was a movie I have been waiting to see. I only paid $5 to see it on pay-per-view, and I am glad that is all I paid. Great Stuff: The scenery, costumes and special effects were top notch. The 1930s-1940s look was cool to see. Good Stuff: The action scenes were well done but not really gripping. Bad Stuff: The dialogue, characters and storyline were too comic bookish for me. Every line and character was a cliche of comic books. Maybe that was what the writer was going for. ( I did like the Sky Captain and Commanfer Freddie characters. They didn't take themselves seriously.) Interesting Aspects: What I really liked was how this movie is an example of all the 1930s-1940s movie serials that influenced George Lucas. I could see where he was inspired by them in making the "Star Wars" and "Indiana Jones" movies. Out of 4 Stars-2 Stars; A good reminder my movies long age, but short on good wrting and dialogue to make it a good modern film.
Movie Review-"malcolm X" (1992)
The 1992 "Malcolm X" is a biographic film that examines his adulthood with some flashbacks of his childhood. It shows how a flashy black mobster under went a spiritual transformation into a civil right leader. The most interesting part of the movie was hoe he underwent his spiritual journey into Islam. This took place in two parts of the movie. First when he was in prison and then when he made his pilgrimage to Mecca. Another interesting part was the background story about the rise of the Nation of Islam. It was an inside look in how it recruited and trained new leadership. There was even a bit of comic realism with a cameo by Rev. Al Sharpton playing a competing street preacher. Out of 4 stars-3 1/2 stars; Great acting by all, Good story telling but a bit long than it needed to be.
Movie Review-"pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl" (2003)
This 2003 pirate movie based on a ride at Disneyland. While the special effects of pirate ghosts and close range ship battles was good, everything else could have been better. First it was too long and that made the movie begin to drag towards the end. Second, Johnny Depp was a bad pirate and played Capt. Jack Sparrow like a cartoon character. Not one of his better performances. Third, the "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "Titanic" elements added little to the movie. The supernatural storyline needed more explaining with flashbacks. The romance between the young couple was just campy. Lastly the ending was just unbelievable and awkward. It was rated PG-13. It had a lot of graphic violence despite being a movie for kids. Out of 4 Stars--2 stars; It could have been a lot better. I would have gone for a R rating by adding at least one sex scene with an actress with bigger boobs than the main female character.
Movie Review-"alien Vs. Predator" (2004)
"Alien Vs. Predator" is one of those movies that comes along for me that I like at all levels. It takes an adventure/sci fi storyline and adds plenty of action, gore, violence and a touch of humor to make a really good movie. The characters are all believable and realistic. The Aliens and Predators are totally awesome in how their fight each other. And the ending gives you a sense of closure with a tease of a possible sequel. My favorite scene was the first true battle between a drone Alien and a Predator warrior. They both really kick each other's butt. It reminded me of the lightsaber battle between Count Dooku and Yoda in "Star Wars-Episode II:Attack of the Clones". My kids thought it was scary in some parts, but overall liked it. Out of 4 Stars: 3 1/2 Stars
Movie Review-"the Stepford Wives" (2004)
I had seen the 1975 version once on tv. I still remembered the basic storyline plus how it was so shocking for being somewhat explicit for the time. (It had a sex scene between a couple in open view in their backyard.) The 2004 version is just a modernized version. It has the same basic storyline, a new ending, a gay couple and a lot of tongue-in-cheek moments that make fun of marriage, the showbiz and corporate America. (The sex scene has been moved indoors and made very comical.) While Nicole Kidman and Matthew Broderick go a good job, Bette Midler and the actors playing the gay couple steal the show. They made a possible bad remake into something new and fresh. Out of 4 Stars- 3 Stars. It makes a good, low stress couples movie.
Movie Review-"the Hulk" (2003)
I saw "The Hulk" on Encore many moons ago. While the special effects were good (especially the Hulk himself), the storyline and character development was frantic at best. I don't think it was a lot like the comic book. It was too surreal. The only character I found believable and worth following was Gen. Ross. He started as an uncaring SOB, but developed into someone who really cared for his nation, daughter, and Bruce Banner. I was shocked by how much of the movie was told from his point of view when the comic book never was. Well I hope there is not a "Hulk II". I give this one 1 1/2 stars out of 4.
Movie Review-"where The Red Fern Grows" (2003)
I got this movie on dvd at Wal-Mart because my wife loved the book and wanted to own it. Basically it is the story of how Billy raises some redbone hound puppies into champion winning raccoon hunting dogs. In time he loses both dogs, but learns that love is eternal. This usually not the type of movie I watch, but I loved it. The acting is great especially by Joseph Ashton. Dabney Coleman, Ned Beatty and Kris Kristofferson just add their skills as supporting actors. And of course the dogs are cool watching on the hunt. Only drawback is that it is a little slow at times. I would not recommend it for young children since there is some violence between animals and a boy character dies a pretty grizzly death. It is a real tear jerker. My 10 year old daughter cried for hours after watching it. Out of four stars, I give it 3 1/2.
Movie Review-"the Day After Tomorrow" (2004)
My family first watched "The Day After Tomorrow" on pay-per-view, but now we own it on dvd because my son loved it so much. Storyline- A paleo-climatologist tries to save his son and most of North America during Earth's second Ice Age. He faces uncaring bureaucrats, harsh weather and great personal loss as he treks to NYC. Message- There is any underlining moral of how mankind (mostly the US) has destroyed the environment because of its unchecked pollution of the atmosphere. This causes the polar ice caps to break up, the Atlantic ocean currents to change and the complete covering of the northern parts of US, Europe and Asia by ice. Mankind only learns that the environment must be protected after he has lost his most of his largest cities and nations. My Opinion- The special effects and action scenes were good. The character development and storyline was minimal, but was enough there to keep everything going. My favorite part was when US citizens had to illegally enter Mexico
Movie Review: Spider-man (2002)
A good comic book-based film. Plot: A young science student gets super-human spider abilities after being bit by a radioactive spider. Likes: A great tribute to the comic book with some good modern twists added.; The special effects are really good.; Good character development of major characters. Dislikes: Could have used a better villain for SM to fight. Rated PG-13 for stylized violence and action. Kid's Caution: I thought it was no worst than any Star Wars film. I give it 3 1/2 stars. A great tribute to the comic, but needed a better villian.
Movie Review-"spiderman 2" (2004)
For the most part it was pretty good. The main characters got more in depth, the special effects were as good as SM1, and the villain was cool. I liked how Doc Octopus was a honorable evil guy. Bent on accomplishing his goals with the help of his "thinking arms". It was predictable that he would go good at the end. I didn't like how they gave away the storyline to SM3. I am not a fan of the Green Goblin, and I was hoping Venom might be the next villain. So out of 4 stars, I give it 3.
Movie Review-"saw" (2004)
"Saw" has to be one of the weirdest yet compelling movies I have seen on dvd to date. Billed as a serial killer film, it is really a case study of how the human animal will do anything to survive. And how really crappy people exist in all parts of society. It is one of those movies in which everyone is a villain in some form. It has a good mystery and set up that is told through flashbacks. It even sets you along a course of misdirection. It falls flat has it becomes too twisting at the end. The cinematography is pretty good up until the end where the film editor and director just went crazy with quick flashback snapshots. It reminded me a lot of "Seven" at first. But the uncompelling detective character (Danny Glover) made the crime drama aspects boring. Also it didn't have a darkness to it that kept me interested in it. Out of 4 Stars- 2 Stars: A good effort in the serial killer genre, but got too twisted to handle.
Movie Review: Saw Ii (2005)
This follow-up to the 2004 horror hit "Saw". It truly lives up to the first movie in terms of gore and plot twists. Plot: Jigsaw, a serial killer out to teach others about the meaning of life, is back to teach a group of criminals and a corrupt cop about survival. Likes: Very suspenseful.; The horror and torture tests are even more shocking.; You never know what will happen next. Dislikes: Takes a little while to set up the overall plot.; Acting is a bit campy.; No real hero to the story.; Doesn't say what happens to Dr. Lawrence Gordon from the first film. Rated R for Gore, Torture, Drug Violence and Language. Kids' Caution: Not for children. Out of four stars, I give it three stars. It is a good horror film that could have been better connected to its predecessor.
Movie Review: Saw Iii (2006)
If this film wasn't the third installment of a horror film series, you could have just released it as Shakesspear In Blood. For this film is more like a Shakespearian play than horror film. Plot: The Jigsaw Killer uses a series of traps to test the forgiving power of a grieving father and a depressed doctor. Likes: Possibly the final film in the series, the storyline comes the background stories of Jigsaw, Amanda (his new fan) and what happened to his other victims from the first two films. This expands and beefs up the main storyline really well.; There are a few more twists in this one that lead to the possibility of a fourth film.; The film keeps the same topsy-turvy filming style with new death traps that seem to defy natural and science.; There is even a bit of learning taking place as you get to see some major surgery being done. Dislikes: It is a long film at 113 minutes.; It seems that the writers were running low on plot twists so they use Shakespear's old trick of ev

Moving On Poem
I keep moving along One day it’s you The next it’s someone new I know I need to stop and plant myself Grow some roots but I can’t deny this restlessness That takes a hold of me I keep searching for the way it used to be When I was in love with you and we were so free You set me on fire with every kiss Your eyes seared me with each breath And your face and touch is the one I miss But what a mess we made And we both went our own way So I keep moving along Waiting for someone to make me feel the way I did with you Someone who will be nothing like you But that is just the way it is But what a mess we made The hurt and pain that cut us deep The words we should have hid away Accusations and resentments Piled up so deep We had to swim our way out Or we would have drowned So who can blame you and me So I keep moving along Wanting someone to make me feel the way I did with you Someone who will be nothing like you But that is the way it is I pr

Superbad (2007): Were you ever the geek in high school? Did you ever think that brains could outsmart brawn? This is the "Revenge of the Nerds" for our generation. Fucking hilarious, and greatly topical. 4 of 5 stars. Knocked up (2007): Funny as hell. Oversimplified as far as real life goes, but as a comedy film relying on suspension of disbelief, very funny. Overall, it's a pale second to Mating Habits of the Earthbound Human, which deals with many of the same topics, only in a much funnier way, and is more realistic overall. "Knocked Up" is quite funny, but leaves the viewer lacking. 3 of 5 stars. The Bourne Ultimatum (2007): If you like the "Bourne" movies, you'll like this one. Overall, tons of eye candy, decent plot, totally unbelievable. Not bad, overall. 2 of 5 stars. Happily N'Ever After (2007): Funny as hell. It's from the producers of the Shrek series. Another computer animated feature film. As with the Shrek films, the CG is done very well; the plot is semi-believab

Yes, I'm seeing a lot of films lately. Are You Scared?: Seen the Saw films? You've seen this one. This was an absolutely horrible rip off of the Saw movies - even using some of the same concepts (key in the chest - dig it out and the dude survives). The acting was terrible. The directing was terrible. The effects were passable. The originality was horrible (this might have been original 50 years ago). Don't bother, unless you want something to complain about. 0 out of 5 stars. Date Movie: This is the Airplane or Scary Movie of romantic films. This movie spoofs everything, and nothing is sacred. Starring Allison Hannigan (You all know her from the American Pie films), this film is a tour de force of parodies of romantic films. Nothing is held sacred, and it holds very much in the tradition of the classic Zucker Brothers and Mel Brooks films. If you're looking for a "laugh your ass off" comedy, this is the one - especially for those that have become jaded on romance (Michelle, I'm

"Love and Other Disasters" It was fucking brilliant! The film was directed by an unknown, Alek Keshishian, and starred almost all unknowns. The only known main cast member was the female lead, Brittney Murphy, playing Emily 'Jacks' Jackson. There were two superstar cameos, played by Gwyneth Paltrow and Orlando Bloom, but both only brief, and rather amusing as far as the whole plot line. The general plot of the movie is fun. A British born woman (with one English parent and one Spanish parent) who grew up in the US returns to England and gets a job with Vogue UK. She is having an affair with her ex-boyfriend while living with a gay roommate. Much of the joy she finds in life is setting her roommate up on various dates with various men who all turn out to be completely wrong for him. She ultimately tries to set her roommate up on a date with the new photographer's assistant at the office, who turns out not to be gay, and really rather interested in her. The film has consta

Movie Review: Superman Returns (2006)
Sometimes there are superheroes that surpass time, space and all forms of media. Superman does this in the latest and updated version of his adventures. Plot: Superman/Clark Kent returns after five years of soul searching. He tries to pick up his life in a world that has gone on without him. Oh, Lex Luthor is out to rule the world like always. Likes: Except for Kevin Spacey (Lex) and Kate Bosworth (Lois Lane), the characters are well casted.; There are great action scenes along with slower scenes that develop the main storyline.; The secondary storyline of Lois's kid maybe being a "Superkid" adds a great mystery to the overall film.; There are many tributes to the comic book and previous films. Dislikes: I thought Spacey wasn't evil enough in his playing of Lex. And Bosworth looked too young to be Lois.; There were no connections to Christopher Reeve nor Gene Hackman which could have bridged this film to the others. Rated PG-13 for some intense action violence. Kids Caut
Movie Review: World Trade Center (2006)
The events of Sept. 11, 2001 changed the lives of every person on Earth. Oliver Stone focuses on four of them with an unusually bland style that he normally stays away from. Plot: Sgt. John McLoughlin and Port Authority Officer Will Jimeno become trapped under the collapsed World Trade Center. Meanwhile their wives wait for their rescue. Likes: Oliver Stone well researched the tale of these four individuals, and doesn't spout any conspiracy ideas of who caused the attacks.; The acting is very good by both the major and minor actors.; the film is shot in a very basic style that is void of Stone's usual artsy look. Dislikes: I found it boring at times with scenes that really didn't add anything to the overall storyline.; The violence was very PG-ish. We only see reflections of the horrors. I think the film would have more of an impact if there were more shots of the human cost. Rated PG-13 for intense and emotional content, some disturbing images and language. Kids' Cautio
Movie Review: The Wiz (1978)
1978 saw two great musical films in Grease and The Wiz. Both based on Broadway musicals and were hits in the movie theatres too. Plot: An adult African American Dorothy tries to meet the Wiz so to go home in this modernized, urban version of The Wizard Of Oz. Likes: The songs are great because they memorable.; We see Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Lena Horne and Richard Pryor in their prime. It just doesn't retell "The Wizard Of Oz" story, but adds the African American experience to the legion.; A good pace with decent action scenes. Dislikes: Character development is rushed so you don't get to fully understand the minor characters like Evillene (a.k.a The Wicked Witch of the West). Rated G. Kid's Caution: The Subway Peddler has some monsters that little kids might get scared by. Prequel/Sequel News: None at this time. Out of four stars, I give it three stars. Great music, but needed to slow down in spots to explore Evillene more.
Movie Review:the Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)
On Halloween night, my wife wanted me to watch this "classic" horror film on FUSE. I don't know if I saw an edited or unedited version of the film, but it really doesn't matter. Plot: "Five friends visiting their grandpa's old house are hunted down and terrorized by a chainsaw wielding killer and his family of grave-robbing cannibals." (Source: IMDB.Com) Likes: It is the film that set the ground rules that future horror/slasher films would follow.; It uses little gore and much scary situations to enhance the fear level.; Leatherface, the main killer, shows that terror doesn't need dialogue. Dislikes: A very slow pace that drags on and makes the overall film boring.; The ending was the biggest disappointment of all. There is no final battle to the death nor hero saving the day.; At times, the cinematographer gets a little too creative so to make the film look too artistic at times. Rated R for scary situations and chain saw murders. Kid's Caution: Many fears of death, ske
Movie Review: Mad Love (1935)
On Halloween last year, I got to watch an old horror movie on Turner Classic Movies that would have been considered a psychological thriller by today's standards. Plot: In Paris, a brilliant reconstructive surgeon uses his skills to win the love of an American actress when he is called upon by her to rebuild her husband's hands. Likes: The horror is in idea that we sometimes can't control ourselves when we are either in love or angry.; The actors actual act in that they convince you they really are doctors or pianists.; Being filmed in black-and-white, it is more scary at times. Dislikes: The final battle between the two male leads over the female lead is a let down. It is over before it barely begins. While it wasn't rated in 1935, today it would have been rated probably PG. If Made Today: It would have to have more than one murder victim, be a lot more bloodier and have at least one sex scene. Kid's Caution: While the gore isn't shown, there is a very realistic exec
Movie Review: Cars (2006)
Disney animated movies are known for two main things: teaching lessons of friendship, loyalty and doing your best, and inaccurately discussing historical people and places. But for once, they got this one right. Plot: In a world in which cars are living creatures, Lightning McQueen is the hottest thing on four wheels. But can he learn the importance of friendship on Route 66 in time to win the biggest race of his life? Likes: The story shows accurately how small towns along Route 66 rose and fell with advent of the modern interstate highway system.; The animation and star voices are great.; There good inside jokes about cars, racing and the automotive industry.; The racing scenes are really exciting.; There are a few slow points in the storyline that are used for character development, but they are done sparingly. Dislikes: None Rated G. Kid's Caution: Very small kids may be scared for LMcQ when he gets lost. Prequel/Sequel News: None at this time. Out of four star
Movie Review: X-men: The Last Stand (2006)
In my experience, it is usually the third film in a trilogy that finally gets the characters and storyline right and ready to be wrapped up. This film is no different Plot: When a cure is found to treat mutations, lines are drawn amongst the X-Men, led by Professor Charles Xavier, and the Brotherhood, a band of powerful mutants organized under Xavier's former ally, Magneto. Likes: The cast seemed to really jell together, so their characters act more like an united group.; Special effects were good.; A good steady pace with little diversion into smaller story lines.; The casting of Kelsey Grammar as Dr. Hank "The Beast" McCoy was a great touch of both class and humor to the film. Dislikes: The teenage love triangle between Kitty, Iceman and Rogue was a stupid and useless story element.; Two major characters of the comics is killed off. This totally goes against X-Men canon. Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of action violence, some sexual content and language. (this easily c
Movie Review: The Incredibles (2004)
Superhero movies come and go, but few look at what happens after the cape and mask is retired like this film does. For a kids film, there is much for adults to enjoy too. Plot: After nearly 15 years of forced retirement, a married superhero couple fights to save their family and the world from a super-villain out for revenge. Likes: Great animation.; Seeing how former superheroes adjust to "normal" life and deal with everyday problems makes a very interesting minor storyline.; It was more like watching a cross between a "James Bond" film and True Lies (1994) with a few adult themes and a bad guy who will kill anyone.; Each character is both defined by both his/her superpower and his/her individuality. Dislikes: The baby character of Jack-Jack is barely used. It is only towards the end of the film that we learn of his superpowers. Rated PG for action violence. But also sex and adultry are lightly mentioned. Kids Caution: Nothing really scary. Older kids will pick up on th
Movie Review: The Green Mile (1999)
Based on the series of short stories by Stephen King, it took me three different sittings to see this film completely. And it was worth it. Plot: A possibly wrongly convected death row inmate can bring life back to the dead and dying during his last days in the 1930's. Likes: A great mix of major and minor characters that enrich the overall storyline of life on death row.; Good acting by all actors.; A steady pace that takes time to examine every character and his/her situation.; Only uses flashbacks when needed. Dislikes: It doesn't recognize the racial problems that would exist with a Black inmate on a mostly White death row. So it does have less authenticity . Rated R for violence, language and some sex-related material. There is a very scary death scene of an inmate on the electric chair. Kid's Caution: I have seen both the edited and unedited versions of this film. Neither are for kids because there are situations dealing with child rape and murder, and animal cruel
Movie Review: Poseidon (2006)
1970's disaster movies are revisited in this remake of The Poseidon Adventure (1972) that combined an all-star cast with a life-or-death escape on the high seas. This new version uses a modern all-star cast with a bit more campier storyline. Plot: A modern cruise ship is overturned by a giant wave, and a small group of passengers fight to get out to safety by working together. Likes: Good special effects with explosions and semi-gorie death scenes.; The underwater camera work is great. Used a lot of "Hollywood magic" to keep the overall story going.; The kid character of Conor James provided the best scenes for both laughs and bravery. Dislikes: The acting and dialogue was campy at times by the montley crew of actors.; The writers had a hard time making the individual sub-story lines believable. (For example: Emmy Rossum was too old looking and/or Kurt Russell too young looking to be father and daughter.); It was pretty predictable, but the path they followed wasn't. Rated
Movie Review: Teen Titans-trouble In Tokyo (2006)
The Teen Titans are a collection of teenaged superheros consisting of BeastBoy, Cyborg, Starfire, Raven and Robin (Batman's sidekick). This is the first movie featuring them. Plot: The Teen Titans go off to Tokyo, Japan to hunt a crimelord and his ninja warriors. Likes: It explores new areas of the personalities of the main characters, especially the relationship between Robin and Starfire. It has a good fast pace with twists you will not expect. Dislikes: No new ground in animation is covered like it usually is in animated movies based on animated tv shows. It also takes a while for the story to develop. This film is Not Rated, but I would say it is a PG film. There is lots of violence and a death scene. Kid's Caution: Kids 10 and up would not be scared by it. Prequel/Sequel News: None at this time. Out of 4 stars, I give it 2 1/2 stars. I think if it had newer animation along with its good storyline, then it would have been better.
Movie Review: Final Destination Iii (2006)
Can we cheat death? What happens when we do? According to this film, Death catches up to you. Plot: A couple of high school kids try to figure out who is die next in a group of students who didn't die when they were supposed to. Likes: Great special effects. A good steady pace that is not predictable. A good triology ending film. Dislikes: The deaths are full of gore that isn't needed. The high school aged characters are played by actors who look barely college-aged. Rated R for strong horror violence/gore, language and some nudity. Kids Caution: Not for kids at all. (The death scenes would even give me nightmares.) Prequel/Sequel News: This film is proceeded by Final Destination (2000) and Final Destination II (2003). Out of four stars, I give it 2 1/2 stars. The effects are great, but it could have used less gore.
Movie Review: Fantastic 4 (2005)
As a kid, I always thought the "Fantastic Four" comic was the best. It showed how friendship and teamwork could united strength, stealth, speed and stretchability into an incredible fighting force. This film does this and more. Plot: Four superpowered researchers unite to battle an evil threat that is determined to destroy them. Likes: A good build-up and back story that shows how accidental normal people become superheroes.; Good special effects for all the stunts and superpowers.; Has a good pace. Dislikes: Has a predictable story line that leads into a sequel.; I think Mr. Fanastic/Dr. Richards could have been better casted with Jeff Goldblum. Rated PG-13 for sequences of intense action, and some suggestive content. Kid's Caution: I found nothing really alarming that a child might be scared by. It was no violent than any cartoon on now. Out of four stars, I give it three stars. I like the build-up to the climax, but the story was predictable.
Movie Review: The Four Feathers (1939)
I saw this film on Turner Movie Classics. I found it interesting enough that now I wish to see the 2002 version. Plot: A British army officer resigns his commission, and is marked a coward by his four close friends. He then sets out to redeem himself. Likes: It shows the honor-driven British army towards the end of the 19th century in all its glory.; It is very pretty visually with both it scenes of grand parties and battles. Dislikes: It is never really explained how the main character (Lt. Harry Faversham) is too cowardly to command his troops, but is brave enough to undergo a much dangerous mission to save his friends.; The ending is rushed after such a great set-up. Rated PG for battlefield violence and very mild language. Kid's Caution: Nothing too unnerving for a kid to watch. Kids may find it boring because there are a few slow moments. Out of 4 stars, I give it 3 stars. A pretty film about the British army, but is uneven in explaining and ending the story.
Movie Review: Oliver & Company (1988)
This is Walt Disney's musical version of Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. Instead of being set in London, England UK, it is set in New York, NY USA. Plot: Oliver, a kitten, gets caught up in a group of golden hearted dogs. They work together to save a little girl. Likes: Uses the voice talents of Joey Lawrence, Billy Joel, Bette Midler and a few more to make the characters come alive.; Has a good musical score full of fun and inspiring songs.; A good happy ending for all. Dislikes: The animation isn't too thrilling nor groundbreaking. Rated G since it is your basic Disney family film. Kids' Caution: Great for kids of all ages. Out of four stars, I give it 3 1/2 stars. Great songs and storyline, but with no thrills animation.
Movie Review: Forrest Gump (1994)
This is a visual classic as it combines real footage of past historical figures into a modern film. Plot: Forrest Gump goes though life interacting with history as he tries to stay close to his girl Jenny. Likes: It shows the ups and downs of American history through the unbias eyes of an innocent. This perspective shows how crazy things were from the late 1950's to the late 1980's without passing any judgment on the times.; Great acting by all characters.; A very moving storyline and subplot that you get wrapped in. Dislikes: It at times is almost a historical music video that overtakes the film's storyline.; Jenny is a total bitch that everyone sees but Forrest. I hated her myself. Rated PG-13 for Language, Sexuality and War-related Violence. Kids' Caution: Young kids may not really understand this film, but it would be a great film for older kids to learn about US History for an unique point of view. Out of four stars, I give it 3 1/2 stars. Great story that could
Movie Review: Dirty Dancing (1987)
A classic 80's movie that reminded us how growing up in the early 1960's wasn't so easy. Plot: A coming-of-age tale of a young girl during a summer that would teach about life, love and dance. Likes: Great music and dance number that aren't too much to make the film a music video.; Shows the reality of growing up in changing times.; Lots of great supporting roles that drive the plot along. Dislikes: A bit sappy at times with a unrealistic ending. Rated PG-13 for Adult Themes and Language Kids' Caution: Not for children under 13 since it tackles the themes of abortion, sexuality and mature love. Out of four stars, I give it three stars. I loved the music but could have gone with a more realistic ending.
Movie Review: Angels With Dirty Faces (1938)
Today I would like to review a classic gangster drama that in its own way has a happy ending. I have always found this movie uplifting. Plot: The boyhood friends of Fr. Jerome 'Jerry' Connelly and gangster William 'Rocky' Sullivan meet up again after 15 years apart. While Rocky tries to get back into his mob family, Fr. Jerry tries to save him and a gang of young thugs from a life of crime. In the end, Rocky finds a way to be a good example for his young fans. Likes: The film has two main points. 1. That any of us can have a life of good or bad depending on our choices. 2. No matter what one does in his/her life, they can still redeem him/herself at the end of it.; Great acting by all.; Has scenes of humor and drama that is emphasized by the lighting and cinematography. Dislikes: None Rated PG for violence. Kid's Caution: While a bit gritty, it is a good lesson for older kids about how life can be tough. This classic movie gets 4 stars. It is worth renting or watching
Movie Review: Die Another Day (2002)
Here is a James Bond movie I caught on CBS a while back. Plot: It's up to James Bond to discover the connection between a North Korean terrorist and an adventurous diamond broker whose looks may be deceiving. (IMDB.Com); Also Bond has to try to see who set him up on a failed mission. Likes: It shows that even Bond can get captured and tortured like other intell agents.; A good steady pace with right amount of action and bedroom scenes.; Has some good acting by all the major and minor characters.; The new Q pays tribute to the old Q in a nostalgic scene involving old Bond movie gadgets.; Halle Berry plays an US Double-O agent that is a good foil to Bond's personality. Dislikes: A much more darker movie with little humor.; Bond is shown to be a little too human. He is almost an anti-hero.; Seemed long at 133 minutes. Rated PG-13 for action violence and sexuality.; It is at the same level of violence and sex as the other Bond films. Kids Caution: Not for kids under 13. Some
Movie Review: Doom (2005)
The great shot-em up video game becomes a feature film with The Rock. Plot: Marines sent to investigate what went wrong on a space station, only to face a far greater evil unlike any other. (IMDB.Com) Likes: It expands a very simple "man versus the monsters" storyline by fleshing out the game.; It honors the game by using some of its basic elements as plot points.; It is like seeing a futuristic version of Predator (1987). Dislikes: Somewhat of a slow story pace.; Filmed with very dark lighting for a more scary effect that keeps you from seeing the action. Rated R for strong violence/gore, language and nudity. Kids Caution: Not for Children. Out of four stars, I give it two and half stars. It honors the video game well, but could have been filmed so you can see the action better.
Movie Review: The Forgotten (2004)
A grieving parent's nightmare comes true in this suspense movie. Plot: A mother is the only one remembering a dead child that everyone has forgotten. Likes: A good use of a slower pace to tell the story.; The movie is filmed a very dark scenery to give a nightmare appearance.; Some good acting all around by everyone.; A good storyline. It is like a two-hour "X-Files" episode but without Mulder and Scully. Dislikes: The film is so dark that it is hard to see the details at times.; Not really a scary movie to watch. Rated PG-13 for intense thematic material, some violence and brief language. Kid's Caution: Not really scary nor lots of bad language.; Kids might find it boring to watch. (It put my wife to sleep three times.) I give it 2 1/2 stars. It has a good story if you can stay awake to see it all.
Movie Review: Cellular (2004)
The cell phone has come to age in our society as it stars in this thriller. Plot: A young man tries to save a family from some dirty cops after receiving a cell phone call. Likes: A nice commentary on good and bad aspects that cell phones bring to modern life.; A good pace with enough set-up, action and dialogue to keep the story moving.; Decent acting that made the characters come across very realistically. Dislikes: Some parts are just one long chase scene that could have been shorten some. Rated PG-13 for violence, terror situations, language and some sexual references. Kid's Caution: There is a lot of bad language in it, but the violence is about average and the sexual references are only jokes. I give it 3 stars. It is one of the better action thrillers that I have seen. It just needed to have one less car chase to make it better.
Movie Review: Herbie Fully Loaded (2005)
Note: This is a movie that I have not seen all the way through, but I have seen in enough pieces to comment on it. Plot: A young racer rebuilds "Herbie the Love Bug" into a NASCAR champ. Likes: A family film that has plenty of laughs that kids like.; A typical Disney film in which the good guys (or in this case good girl) wins and the bad guys don't. Dislikes: Too cute for me to watch. Rated G since there is nothing bad for kids in it. Kids Caution: None My kids give it 4 stars. In fact they love watching it a lot. I give it 2 stars since I can barale stand watching it.
Movie Review: Boogeyman (2005)
An aged old fright that terrorizes children comes alive in this film. Plot: A young man battles the supernatural as he tries to find out the truth behind his dad's disappearance. Likes: A good pace with a good set up.; Not too predictable with a good amount of scares.; It mildly reminded me of "Nightmare on Elm Street" (1984). Dislikes: The characters are under-developed so much that they are uninteresting. Rated PG-13 for scenes of horror/terror and partial nudity. Kid's Caution: It scared my youngest child (8 yo), but not my older son (11 yo). But there was no excessive gore, violence or sexuality. I give it 2 1/2 stars. It is an interesting film full of uninteresting characters.
Movie Review: Fear Dot Com (2002)
Horror hits the cyber age in this internet thriller. Plot: A city health inspector and a detective look into the deaths of various people who have died after logging in on a reality website. Likes: The cinematography was interesting to watch.; Had a solid ending. Dislikes: Not very original since it seemed like a "The Ring" (2002) rip-off. Rated R for nudity, language and scenes of torture. Kid's Caution: Not for Children. I gave it 2 stars. Liked the cinematography, but could have been more original.
Movie Review: Transformers-the Movie (1986)
They're more than meets the eye. Plot: "The Autobots must stop a colossal planet consuming robot who is after the Autobot Matrix of Leadership. (IMDB.Com) Likes: A great mix of combat scenes, dialogue and music that drives the story along at a good pace. Dislikes: The animation is ok for a feature film.; Having Optimus Prime killed off. Rated PG for mild language and tons of space violence. Kid's Caution: Very violent; Shows favorite characters being killed off quickly. I give it 3 1/2 stars. Good film, but could have had better animation.
Movie Review:terminator 3-rise Of The Machines (2003)
This marks the second time that Arnold S. plays his Terminator role as a good guy. Plot: "John Connor is now in his 20's, and a female terminator, called T-X or Terminatrix, is after him. Another T-101 is sent back through time to protect John once again on the verge of the rise of the machines." (IMDB.Com) Likes: Great action scenes.; Fully explains to coming war that will start off between mankind and robots. Dislikes: Arnold S. isn't as funny as he is in "Terminator 2-Judgment Day". Rated R for strong sci-fi violence and action, and for language and brief nudity. Kid's Caution: Pretty violent for kids. I give it 2 1/2 stars. Needs more humor to go with the action.
Movie Review 4 - The Grudge 2
The Grudge 2 I had high hopes for this one, as they brought back the Sarah Michelle Gellar character, and kept Takashi Shimizu as the director (he didn't write it this time, though), and it was produced by Sam Raimi. The film tied in quite nicely to the first film, as they used the same house, the same woman who played the murdered wife, and used the sister of the Sarah Michelle Gellar character as the protagonist in this one. Unfortunately, it suffered from Blair Witch syndrome - the first film being an incredible fright-fest, and the sequel sucking total donkey balls. The original The Grudge still creeps me out to this day. I had hoped for more from the sequel. The Grudge 2 made several fatal flaws as a sequel. It tried to over-analyze the mythology behind the supernatural events at play. The first film was so successful because all the audience ever got to explain things was the line about "when someone dies in a fit of rage, the evil remains" right at the beginning (this line

The Movie Hit Home For Me.
Today is the kind of Monday that you think "ugh,,,it's Monday, do I have to get up?" I didn't sleep at all last night. My stomach hurt all night long and kept me awake. I went to the movies yesterday and ate popcorn and that is what upset my stomach. I saw "Things Lost In A Fire" with Halle Barry and Benicio Del Torro. It was a good movie. About a woman who's husband was killed for trying to save a woman from being beat up and the best friend of her husband whom she hates, she tries to save from drugs. Complicated....a bit. The cinematography was done beautifully. I was sitting there watching Benecio, he is someone I have always loved watching. There is just something about him. He usually plays a dark character in movies. But as I was watching him and looking at his face, I realized who he reminds me so much of. My brother Kevin. Especially in this role. Handsome but insecure, self loathing and the drugs. My brother used to have a drug problem for many years.
Movie Review: The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
A great prison movie about the how human spirit is free no matter how locked up one's body is. Plot: An innocent man is framed for murder and sent to prison. There he learns the ins and outs of prison life with the help of his new friends. Likes: A very realistic look at prison life, and hoe the guards and prisoners live it.; Great character development of all major and minor characters.; A good steady pace of all story lines. Dislikes: It feels like a long film when it really isn't. Rated R for language and prison violence. Kid's Caution: Not for children. I give it 3 1/2 Stars. Great film that feels a little long in watching.
Movie Review: Seabiscuit (2003)
One of the best sports film I have seen. Plot: Three washed out house race pros come together to back unsized horse onto victory and glory. Likes: Great racing scenes.; Good character development.; A steady pace.; A mix of primary and secondary story lines. Dislikes: None Rated PG-13 for sports violence and sexuality. Kid's Caution: The violence is more suggestive than anything. A good historical film for older children to watch. I give it 4 stars.
Movie Review: Robin Hood-prince Of Thieves (1991)
An old English tale is revisited with this adaptation of the adventures of Robin Hood. Plot: "When Robin and his Moorish companion come to England and the tyranny of the Sheriff of Nottingham, he decides to fight back as an outlaw." (IMDB.Com) Likes: A good historical look at Medieval England during the time of King Richard I.; The action scenes have good stunts and effects.; The movie has a steady pace. Dislikes: It seems like a long movie when watching it. Rated PG-13 for violence, language and brief nudity. Kid's Caution: Some of the violence is intense for small kids. I give it 2 1/2 stars. A really long quasi historical piece.
Movie Review: Red Dragon (2002)
This the prequel to The Silence of the Lambs (1991) which opens with the capture of Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Plot: "A retired FBI agent with psychological gifts is assigned to help track down "The Tooth Fairy", a mysterious serial killer; aiding him is imprisoned criminal genius Hannibal "The Cannibal" Lecter. (IMDB.Com) Likes: A very good mystery with good character development of the serial killer. Dislikes: Has a slow pace to it. Rated R for violence, language, sexuality and nudity. Kid's Caution: Not for kids. I give it 2 1/2 stars. The slow pace doesn't help this well developed story.
Movie Review: The Prince Of Egypt (1998)
Here the Holy Bible meets Hollywood in this animated biblical tale. Plot: Moses goes from being a spoiled royal prince to being the leader of the Hebrew people. Likes: Has a good mix of songs, story development and action scenes to keep the film going at a steady pace.; Shows the different points of view of how God delivers the Hebrews out of Egypt. Dislikes: None: Rated PG for a few scary moments and references to mass murder. Kid's Caution: Should be watched with an adult so child can be told the difference between which parts of the film are historically accurate and which are fictional. I give it 4 stars. A great film to see during Passover.
Movie Review: Kangaroo Jack (2003)
Here is a kids' film that kids like, but I found to be stupid. Plot: "Two childhood friends, a New York hairstylist and a would-be musician, get caught up with the mob and are forced to deliver $50,000 to Australia, but things go haywire when the money is lost to a wild kangaroo." (IMDB.Com) The rest of the movie is just one long chase scene. Likes: The two main characters are funny, and the kangaroo is neat to watch. Dislikes: The storyline gets old quick that I found the film boring. Rated PG for language and violence. Kid's Caution: Nothing really scary. Just some crude humor. I give it 1 1/2 stars. A good try, but was too boring.
Movie Review: Independence Day (1996)
I first saw this film the theatre in 1996, and I loved it. As soon as I got it on video, I showed it to my kids. Plot: The US organizes a counterattack after some nasty aliens start invading Earth. Likes: A good mix, of character development, action scenes, humor and aliens to carry the film along.; Tons of hidden jokes that refer to other Sci-Fi tv shows and movies. Dislikes: Seems a bit long at 145 minutes. Rated PG-13 for scary moments, violence and language. Kid's Caution: About the same level of violence and monsters as the Star Wars films. I give it 3 stars. Great action scenes even if it is a little long.
Movie Review: A Bug's Life (1998)
Take one part "The Ant and the Grasshopper" and one part "The Magnificent Seven"(1960), and you get "A Bug's Life". Plot: Flik tries to save his art colony from some mean grasshoppers by recruiting a team of "warrior bugs" to help him. Likes: The Pixar guys outdone themselves. Everything looks very 3-D and realistic.; The characters are well developed.; The storyline has a good pace. Dislikes: None Rated G Kids Caution: Hopper may come off as scary to small kids. I give it 3 stars. A good family movie that both adults and kids will enjoy.
Movie Review-titanic (1997)
This is my wife's favorite movie. So when it came out in a special collector's edition, she had to get it. This is the 1997 version, but with an alternative ending put into the special features. Plot: Jack and Rose are star-crossed lovers who only meet once, but share a lifetime of adventure as they live through the sinking of the RMS Titanic. Likes: The film is shot beautifully. You get a good idea of how large and fancy the ship was.; The story is told at a good pace with just enough slow and fact-paced scenes.; Characters are well developed.; A good view of how society was in 1912. Dislikes: Very long at 194 minutes.; Doesn't explain Rose's life after Jack too much. Rating: PG-13 for violence and sexuality. Parent's Guide: A good historical film for children 12 and up. Prequel/Sequel Information: None Out of 4 Stars....3 Stars. Good story but very long running time.
Movie Review: Star Trek-nemesis (2002)
For Christmas my wife let me pick out a new dvd to add to our collection. Now that my Star Wars set is complete, I thought it was time to begin collecting the Star Trek films. So I started with Star Trek-Nemesis. Plot: Capt. Jean-Luc Picard and crew try to save Earth from a Picard-clone named Shinzon. Likes: Good character development of Shinzon, and how he relates to Picard.; Good special effects during the starship battle scenes.; Had one cameo from "Star Trek-Voyager". Dislikes: The humorous scenes come off more goofy than funny.; Lt. Commander Data "dies" at the end to leave the universe with his "dumber brother" B-4.; The first half of the film is very slow.; No cameos from "Star Trek-Deep Space Nine".; A weak storyline with a weak sub-story. Rating: PG-13 for space violence and mild sexuality. Parent's Guide: Very violent for small kids. Prequel/Sequel Info.: This is the 8th movie in the Star Trek series.; No information on if a 9th movie will be made. Out of
Movie Review: The Amityville Horror (2005)
In movies, a "remake" is a film that is a new version of an original film. It may be made to update the film, modernize it or pay tribute to the original. The Amityville Horror 2005 is a remake of the 1979 original film with the same name. Does it hold up? Plot: The Lutz family spends 28 days being spooked by version ghosts until madness drives then out. Likes: It has a good pace full of spooky moments.; The family back story is well developed.; Gore is used for dramatic effect and not overdone.; It does pay tribute to the highlights of the 1979 version.; The set design, cars and costumes looked liked the early 1970's. Dislikes: The family dog getting axed to death wasn't needed.; The Rev. Ketchum torture ending was a bit of a stretch.; More of suspense film than a horror film. Rated R for language, violence, sexuality and drug use. Parental Guide: Not for kids under 16 for sure. Out of 4 Stars: 3 Stars since it is a good suspense movie, but not really a horror fil
Movie Review: "troy" (2004)
Sometimes a decent movie could have been a good movie if it was a porn movie. "Troy" falls into this category of films. Plot: "An adaptation of Homer's great epic, the film follows the assault on Troy by the united Greek forces and chronicles the fates of the men involved." (Source: IMBD.Com);
Movie Review: "carlito's Way" (1993)
I am a sucker for mob movies. When I was a kid I shocked my dad (a retired cop) by telling him I thought it would be cool to be in the mob. I have seen the "Godfather" series tons of times, and even read the books. Tonight I saw a modern mob movie: Carlito's Way (1993). Plot: "A Puerto-Rican ex-con, just released from prison, pledges to stay away from drugs and violence despite the pressure around him and lead on to a better life outside of NYC." (Source: IMBD.Com); He does this by getting back with his old girlfriend and earning enough money to move to the Bahamas. Good Points: The film shows how more corrupted the world had become in the 1970's. It does this by comparing an old school mobster with the increasingly modern and mean streets of a changing society.; Carlito is no saint, but he still has a sense of honor.; The story takes on twists and turns that keep the viewer guessing. Bad Points: Clocked at 144 minutes, it seems longer at times. Little reference is made about
Movie Review: "anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy" (2004)
"A:LRB" is a cute movie with some funny scenes for a period piece. Plot: "Ron Burgundy is San Diego's top rated newsman in the male dominated broadcasting of the 1970's, but that's all about to change when a new female employee with ambition to burn arrives in his office." (source: IMDB.Com) Good Points: The writing and costume/set design captures the look of the 1970s really well.; There are some very funny scenes. I especially liked the street fight scene with all the local tv news reporters.; The various sub-story lines and characters fleshed out the film. Bad Points: The jokes were pretty far apart.; Applegate has began to let her age show to the point that I barely recognized her. Rated PG-13 for mild violence and language. Parental Guide: If you will let your kids watch any Austin Powers film, then let them see this. Prequel/Sequel News: None as far as I know. Out of 4 Stars...2 1/2 Stars.; Good jokes, but spread too thinly throughout the film.
Movie Review-"house Of 1000 Corpses" (2003)
"House of 1000 Corpses" is a surreal mix of sexuality, mass murder and dead bodies that constitutes a horror movie on speed. Plot: "Two young couples take a misguided tour onto the back roads of America in search of a local legend known as Dr. Satan. Lost and stranded, they are set upon by a bizarre family of psychotics. Murder, cannibalism and satanic rituals are just a few of the 1000+ horrors that await." (Source-IMDb.Com) Good Points: A tribute to all the things that make up our nightmares, and that make us curious about freak shows and haunted house rides.; The murderous family has lots of personality.; There is no "happy ending". (But that is becoming almost a standard in modern horror films.) Bad Points: The US running time is 88 minutes, but I found it too long. Towards the end, at least 5-10 minutes could have been cut with out hurting the overall storyline.; Also the pace of the film was too fast. I had a hard time keeping up with some the action. Rated R for stro
Movie Review-"the Dark Crystal" (1982)
First conceived in 1977 by Frank Oz (aka Jedi Master Yoda), "The Dark Crystal" is a timeless tale of fantasy and adventure. Plot: Jen and Kira must repair an ancient dark crystal before the conjunction of three suns in order to restore the balance of good and evil. Good Points: It is one of the best films ever to not have a single human character or actor in it. Each part is either a Gelfing, Mystic, Skeksis or some other fantasy creature.; There is a good balance of action and dialogue. Every character has something to contribute to the over all storyline.; The special effects are very good for when it was made. Bad Points: The musical score was ok, but could have been much better. Rated PG for some violence. Parent's Guide: Some of the creatures, especially the big beetle soldiers, maybe very scary to a young viewer. Prequel/Sequel News: "The Power of the Dark Crystal" (2006) is in production.; Plot: "Many years after the events that have taken place during the orig
Movie Review-"i, Robot" (2004)
If you took C-3PO from "Star Wars" and combine him with the original Terminator robot from the "Terminator" series, then you get "I, Robot". Plot: In 2035, robots are now man's best friend. But one cop is out to prove that they can commit murder. Good Points: It has a good mystery that takes its time to develop as the characters slowly explain themselves.; It has a good mix of dialogue, fight scenes, chase scenes, character development and realistic special effects.; The setting is futuristic but not so much that you can't relate to it.; Will Smith doesn't try to make the film too funny. In fact I think it was his best action film so far. Bad Points: Smith's character is a little too easy to figure out.; There was a lot of product placement although the film. The first 15 minutes was just one big commercial for Audi cars and Fed-Ex. Rated PG-13 for violence and language. Parent's Guide: The robots can be down right mean at times, so this may scare kids.; It has a girl dy
Movie Review-"batman Beyond-return Of The Joker" (2000)
A few days ago I got to caught "Batman Beyond-Return of the Joker" in HBO Family. Plot: "In this action-packed adventure, the sleeker, more dangerous and seemingly immortal Clown Prince of Crime is back to terrorize Gotham, Batman and the aging Bruce Wayne." (Source-IMDB.Com) This is just the tip of the iceberg. There is a real mystery involving all the main Batman characters and their pasts. Good Points: A lot of unanswered questions about the times between "Batman-The Animated Series" and "Batman Beyond" are cleared up.; The whole bat-gang is reunited to officially pass the torch onto the new Batman.; A good solid storyline that doesn't pull any punches.; Has both a twist at the end and a happy ending. Bad Points: It totally got rid of the Joker for once and for all.; No Nightwing (aka Dick Grayson, Robin I) Rated PG-13 for lots of violence, and the near showing of death by electrocution. Parental Guide: Very intense for young viewers for its dark storyline. Out of
Movie Review: "kill Bill-volume I" (2003)
When I was in college, I had a friend who was big into off-the-wall movies and animation. He had me sit through two Quentin Tarantino movies, "Reservoir Dogs" (1992) and "Natural Born Killers" (1994). Along with "Pulp Fiction" (1994), I found his storytelling style very original. But last night I viewed his best work yet: "Kill Bill-Vol. I" (2003). Plot: "A female assassin attacked on her wedding day and left for dead by her group leader/ex-lover, Bill, wakes up four years later from a coma and seeks revenge against him and his team of murderous assasins." (Source-IMDb) Good Points: A great balance of humor, gore, violence, fight scenes and dialogue that keeps the story going at a steady pace. QT uses a good balance of flashbacks and camera tricks to tell the back story of the main characters. He even used great graphic comics-style of animation to explain the rise of O-Ren Ishii, an underworld ruler. My favorite character was Gogo Yubari, a 17 year old bodyguard who is as mad
Movie Review-"racing Stripes" (2005)
Being that today is when my wife and I are throwing a birthday party for our two youngest kids, I thought it would be nice to let them see a kiddie movie on pay-per-view. So we watched "Racing Stripes" (2005). Plot: "An abandoned zebra grows up believing he is a racehorse, and, with the help of his barnyard friends and a teenage girl, sets out to achieve his dream of racing with thoroughbreds." (Source: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0376105/) It is basically a "SeaBiscuit" (2003) for kids. Good Points: Your classic fish-out-of-water good guy makes it big for believing in himself. Always a good moral for kids. There were some great animal-character voices done by a lot of current movie stars. It had a good mix of serious subplots and funny moments. Bad Points: It shows kids how some people in the racing world are all about money and winning. It even shows that some jockies will cheat to will. Snoop Dog, as the voice of Lightning the Hound Dog, was completely useless and added not
Movie Review-"the Mangler" (1995)
Sometimes 19th century real-life terrors become 20th century horror film story lines. The is true with The Mangler. Plot: An over sized laundry machine begins to eat up workers. A cop investigates, and finds it to be a tool of Satan. Good Points: Robert Englund (AKA Freddy) and Ted Levine (the Police Captain on "Monk") give pretty good performances as a evil laundry owner and policeman. The demon-machine is very scary looking as a machine, and kills by folding up a body. It is almost like a full-length movie version of an episode of the tv show "The Dark Side" since it has a twist at the end. Bad Points: Once the demon-machine becomes more demonish, it is all animated and poorly at that. The story was story in places. Parent's Guide: It is Rated R for gore, violence and language. My youngest daughter came in and got scared by the demon-machine pressing a woman to death. Out of 4 Stars....I give it 2 1/2 Stars. Interesting enough to kill a couple of hours, but the scares
Movie Review: "the Phantom Of The Opera" (2004)
Plot: "A disfigured musical genius, hidden away in the Paris Opera House, terrorizes the opera company for the unwitting benefit of a young protege whom he trains and loves." (Source: IMDB.Com) That is about it. Likes: The music and voices are the tops. Every song and singer are prefect no matter how short the tune nor how small the part.; A good blend of horror and romance themes.; Great combination of two story lines: the first set in 1919 and the second in 1870. Dislikes: A little long for me. It runs 143 minutes with a few really slow moments.; The ending seemed rushed and not very understandable.; The sword fight scenes looked unnatural and staged. Neither the Phantom nor Raoul (the other main male character) would make good Jedi Knights since they are very good swordsmen. Parental Guide: Rated PG-13 for mild violence (a murder and some sword fighting); A few revealing outfits.; A male mooning. Out of 4 Stars....I give it 3 1/2 Stars. Great music but a little long.
Movie Review: "spirit-stallion Of The Cimarron" (2002)
This was the first time I have seen "Spirit-Stallion Of The Cimarron" all the way through. I once saw it about a month ago at my son's school, but I didn't get to see the ending. Storyline: Spirit is a stallion who goes through various adventures to earn freedom for Little Tree, a young Indian brave, and himself. Along the way, they fight the US Cavalry and railroad workers. Likes: A good combination of both 2-D and 3-D animation throughout the film. The story is told from Spirit's point of view with very little dialogue and/or voice-overs. Both the US Cavalry and Indian tribe are shown realistically not as cruel horse beaters as much as two groups trying to use horses to survive. The music is a combination of songs by Bryan Adams and pieces by Hans Zimmer. Dislikes: I am not a fan of story lines set in the Old West. Generally that part of US history is boring to me. But I realize there would be no story without this setting. Parental Concerns: Some violence, but nothing wo
Movie Reiew-"blazing Saddles" (1974)
I have only seen parts of "Blazing Saddles" (1974) as a kid, but never the whole movie from beginning to end. Until last night. Storyline: A corrupt politician uses a Black sheriff to force the residents out of a town in the way of the railroad. The sheriff and a retired gunslinger stop him in doing so. Positives: Very funny performances by Cleavon Little, Gene Wilder, Mel Brooks, Harvey Korman and the always lovely Madeline Kahn. There were tons of inside jokes about the Old West, Hollywood and even race relations. The theme of the movie is racism, how it was in the late 1800's and even today. Brooks is very direct, but humorous in showing how Blacks were and are being treated by American society. Negatives: Many jokes are very sexual (especially with Khan and Little) and at times nasty (i.e. the farting-bean eating scene). So it is not a kids' movie. There is use of the word "negger" at times, but Brooks tries to use it in funny ways to make the user look dumb. Out of 4 S
Movie Review: "garfield-the Movie" (2004)
Growing up I used to read the "Garfield" comic strip and books when I had the chance to. Hearing that it was to be a movie, I thought it might be cool if it was done well. When I finally saw it, I found it ok. Plot: Garfield learns to like having Odie around as they have a quick adventure together in Central City. Good Points: Bill Murry is great as Garfield's voice. BM really captures G's attitude. G. is treated like a real cat by the human characters, not a talking cat like in the comic strip. The human actors Breckin Meyer (Jon) and Jennifer Love Hewitt (Liz) actually were pretty good. Bad Points: G. is animated while Odie and G's animal pals are played by real animals. I think an animated Odie would have been cool too. Also Odie is supposed to be a dumb dog, but in the movie he is a pretty bright. The side-story of Jon chasing after Liz was hokey and didn't really fit into the movie well. My kids thought it was ok. They liked how "Garfield-The Movie" (2004) used so many

Movies That Could Have Been Better.
Star Wars: Episode 2 In the first Star Wars trilogy, Yoda had a unique style of speaking. He would use conjugated verbs at the end of a sentence instead of the beginning. However, it is so overused in this film that Yoda starts sounding downright dyslexic. Instead of, "Script is very shitty, it is", he would say, "Very shitty, is, has become script." Then during his big spotlight to show off his skills, he does a bunch of gymnastics with a light sabre. Big deal, If I wanted to watch a midget flip around, I'd have rented the 1998 Chinese Olympics. George Lucas didn't even direct the movie. The producers get a bunch of idiots to direct it and then stuck the name of a has-been on the cover. George Lucas is insane by now and if they had him director Attack of the Clones, it would have looked more like a David Lynch movie than Star Wars. They could have had Annikan Skywalker find the weird-looking guy from Lost Highway and kick his ass for looking so creepy. Then the Jedi forces wou

This is just an initial blog post, made during the creation of my blog. I'm still trying to figure this website out. If there are things missing, things that profiles usually have but mine doesn't, it's because I haven't figured out how to do that yet. I'm not computer illiterate, nor am I internet illiterate; I've been on the internet longer than your web browser has. I'm simply Fubar illiterate, because I'm still new. Thanks for the drinks and the adds, to those who stumbled upon my profile and, for some reason, like what they see. If I like what I see, I'll reciprocate. And thanks to Evlyn for insisting that I join.
Movie Review: Transformers (2007)
Plot: A race of good and evil robots battle on Earth over a power source that can destroy all life in the universe. Likes: WOW!!; There is great special effects, inside jokes for TF fans, a good mix of drama and comedy, and great battle scenes. Dislikes: The film was a bit longer than it had to be. Rated PG-13 for violence, language and sexual humor. Parent's Caution: Except for the sexual humor, it is about as violent as the cartoon show was. Out of four stars, I give it 3 1/2 stars. A great film but a little long.
Moving To Virginia, Gonna Eat Me Alot Of Brunswick Stew.
Yup, it's true. I'm moving out of this backwater state called Alabama and back to civilization! Be moving sometime in December and be living in Richmond. I'm somewhat kinda worried about leaving my mom behind but I know she's in good hands with her back problems and whatnot. I know I'm gonna be better off up there but just worried what I'll have to put up with. Whats worse if that I have to sell almost everything in my apartment because to ship it all would cost over a thousand. There those that computer case I've been working on. Either way... Finally going home.
Movie Kraken
Kraken- Tentacles of the Deep 2006 Director: Tibor Takács Writers: Nicholas Garland (co-writer) Sean Keller (written by) Actors: Charlie O'Connell ... Ray Victoria Pratt ... Nicole Kristi Angus ... Jenny Cory Monteith ... Michael Jack Scalia ... Maxwell Odemus Aleks Paunovic ... Ike Nicole McKay ... Kate Michal Yannai ... Sally Mike Dopud ... David Emy Aneke ... Principal Elias Toufexis ... Keith Christa Campbell ... Emily Nene rating :5 (on a 1-10 scale) I wasted $4 renting this dumb movie and It totally sucks. The special effects looked cheap and cheesy. The characters were not easily relatable. The basic plot of this movie is this. Ray watched the Kraken kill his parents when he was a boy. When he is grown he wants to seek revenge on the giant squid. He teams up with an archeologist names Nicole to try to find the thing while she searches for the
Moving This Weekend!
The Joys of Moving (Part 1) The only part of moving that is fun is the end result! I am only moving about 6 miles closer to the beach (WHOO HOO!) but it is still pretty intense! Oh, nothing like the move from Michigan here last year....but still stressful! The first hiccup was yesterday-- got a call at work from the leasing mgr saying the apt that they told me was going to be mine, wasn't ready! Yes, a whole day before I am scheduled to move in... They WILL make it right today. Either a bigger apt for the same $$ or a comparable one at the same rate. I am not letting it get me down...this move is going to save what is left of my sanity!! lol Another great realization is how many great friends I have that volunteered to help me move. I didn't even have to ask....that blows me away!! For those of you who know me well, it is very hard for me to ask anyone (even family) for help of any kind....I'm working on that one!! LOL Anyway...stop by my page and show me some luv this w

Moving Soon!!
Well, we have been house hunting for a while. Finally we found a place my hubby and I agree on. I want to live in a neighborhood and he wants to live as far away from civilization as possible. LOL! We looked at a house this weekend. It is gorgeous! The place has 4 bedrooms, 3 and 1/2 baths, and a fabulous kitchen and foyer! Plus, a huge yard and it is brick all over. One bedroom will be my office! Yes! I was afraid it would be way out of our budget, but since it is owner financing, we can swing it! Wooohoo! We made an offer, and they said we would talk things over Monday and get the paper work started. Hopefully all will go smoothly! Wish us luck!
Movie Review: Star Wars-episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999)
The first of the six part Star Wars saga. Plot: Master Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn and his apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi try to save the world of Queen Padmé Naberrie Amidala from the trade Federation. Along the way, they discover the "Chosen One" of Anakin Skywalker. Likes: A good introduction of the characters and events that will shpe the rest of the six films.; Very good special effects during the action scenes. Dislikes: Seems to be slow at times.; Darth Maul is a push-over when it comes to being a villain. Rated PG for sci-fi action/violence. Kid's Caution: A few scary sea monsters. Other than that, it is ok for kids. I give it 2 1/2 stars. A good saga start, but needed a better villain.
Movie Review: Star Wars-episode Ii: Attack Of The Clones (2002)
The second installment in the six-part Star Wars saga. Plot: Jedi Apprentice Anakin Skywalker finds love while his teacher Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi discovers a secret Republican clone army building in the Outer Realm. Likes: The special effects for the action scenes are great.; The romance scenes aren't too mushy for kids, but they add to the overall storyline.; Watching Jedi Master Yoda lightsaber battle Count Dooku is worth the price of renting or buying this film. Dislikes: There are a few scenes that slow down the film, but not very much. Rated PG for sustained sequences of sci-fi action/violence. Kid's Caution: No worst than the other Star Wars films. I give it 3 stars. Great effects with some slowness at times.
Movie Review: Star Wars: Clone Wars-volume I (2003)
This is a 20-part mini-movie that tells about the adventures of Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi during the three years between "Star Wars-Episode II: Attack of the Clones" (2002) and "Star Wars-Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" (2005). Plot: Jedi Knight Kenobi and his Jedi Apprentice Skywalker are sent off to war to stop the Separatist Army. Likes: When viewed without commercial breaks, it is a non-stop battle scene with few breaks for dialogue.; The storyline is told visually with little set-up. Dislikes: The animation is nothing ground-breaking. There is little use of 3-D images. The colors looked faded at times.; It assumes that you have read or seen Episode II, so it is good for someone new to the Star Wars universe. Rated TV-Y7 for violence. Kid's Caution: Very violent even by Star Wars standards. I give it 3 stars. I good mini-movie that could have had better animation.
Moviw Review: Star Wars-episode Iii: Revenge Of The Sith (2005)
This is part three of a six part space saga. Plot: Anakin Skywalker falls to the Dark Side of the Force as the Clone Wars end. Likes: Tons of action and battle scenes.; Great music.; Compelling storyline.; A good steady pace with the right amount of dialogue. Dislikes: Some characters looked too unnatural. You could tell they were computer drawn.; Not enough background given about Gen. Grievous. His scenes were too few and short. Rating: PG-13 for violence and gore. Parental Guide: Not for young children (8 and younger) because a few scenes are too intense. Out of 4 Stars: 4 Stars. It is the best "Star Wars" film of the six films. A must see by all.
Movie Review: Star Wars-episode Iv: A New Hope (1977)
Part four of six in the Star Wars saga that changes the storyline towards Anakin Skywalker's children. Plot: Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa meet up with Obi-Wan Kenobi. They set out to stop Darth Vader (aka Anakin Skywalker) and his Death Star. Likes: A true action adventure with tons of cliff hanger escapes.; The effects are good for the 1970's.; Has a good quick pace. Dislikes: None Rated PG for sci-fi violence and brief mild language. Kid's Caution: Nothing that the other films don't have. I give it 4 stars.
Movie Review: Star Wars-episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
This is part five of the six-part Star Wars saga. Plot: Darth Vader searches for the Rebel Alliance across the galaxy. Luke Skywalker begins his Jedi training with Jedi Master Yoda. Likes: This is darker turn in which we see the power of Darth Vader and his fleet. This broadens the storyline beyond its basic space war theme.; Great special effects. Dislikes: Seems slow in places, but not too much so. Rated PG for sci-fi action violence. Kid's Caution: Nothing really. I give it 3 1/2 stars. Great story, but slow at times.
Movie Review: Star Wars-episode Vi: Return Of The Jedi (1986)
This is the sixth and final part to the Star Wars saga. Here balance is brought back to the Force. Plot: Luke Skywalker and the Rebel Alliance seek to bring an end to the Emperor and the Galactic Empire for good. Likes: An action adventure film that ties up all the loose ends of the overall storyline.; A good combination of ground and space battle scenes.; The slow moments are used to explain the remaining plot points. Dislikes: It is the last Star Wars film. Rated PG for sci-fi action violence. Kid's Caution: A few scary monsters.; Little kids may be upset over watching a few Ewoks dying. I give it 4 stars.
Movie Review: Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone (2001)
Based on the novel by JK Rowling, HP-SS is the first of seven films about the adventures of a young wizard-in-training. Plot: Harry and pals try to figure out the mystery of the Sorcerer's Stone, while trying to get through their first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Likes: I found it very true to the book in most parts.; The acting is great from both children and adult actors.; An amazing thrill ride of effects. Dislikes: Little character development of HSWW's staff. Rated PG for scary moments and mild language. Kid's Caution: Very small children might find some scenes scary. I give it 2 1/2 stars. A good start to the film series, but could have had more character development.
Movie Review: Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets (2002)
This is the film version of JK Rowling's second book in the Harry Potter series. Personally, I found this a much better film than novel. Plot: After escaping his mean relative's house, Harry returns to Hogwarts for more studies and mystery. Likes: Great action scenes with good set up scenes that keep the movie's pace steady.; We learn more about the history of Hogwarts and its past students. Dislikes: None Rated PG for scary monsters and mild language. Kid's Caution: My youngest daughter was terrified by the monster at the end of the film, so I wouldn't suggest it for very small kids. I give it 4 stars. Go see this one.
Movie Review: Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban (2004)
This is the third film based on the series of books by JK Rowling. Plot: Harry and crew try to protect Hogswart from the murderer Sirius Black. Likes: A lot of character development for the main characters.; The storyline has a good mystery.; The actors seem very comfortable in playing their parts. Dislikes: The film has a slow pace at times.; The action scenes are too far and few between. Rated PG for mild language and scary creatures. Kid's Caution: Not as bad as HP2, but could scare very young children. I give it 2 1/2 stars. The pace of the storyline is too slow to make it a good film.
Movie Review: Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire (2005)
Some time back, I was able to get the wide screen version of HP-GOF from Hollywood Video for $20. This is the fourth of seven books/films about the adventures of a young wizard. Plot: Harry Potter is thrown into a deadly competition that pits him against deadly beasts and an even deadlier enemy. Likes: Good special effects.; Tons of action.; Shows how stressful being 14 years old can be.; A very dark storyline that sets up the fifth movie. Dislikes: About a quarter of the book was totally left out or cut down in the movie.; It is getting harder for three 16 year olds to look younger than they are.; The director and screenwriter assumes that the audience has read the book. Rated PG-13 for sequences of fantasy violence and frightening images. Kid's Caution: Maybe too frightening for kids under 6. Out of 4 stars, I give it 3 stars. A good story that could have been better if the whole book was put into the film.
Movie Review: Psycho (1960)
Plot: Someone is killing the guests and visitors to the Bates Motel. Likes: A classic murder mystery that is more terrifying for what it doesn't show than for what is shown on screen.; You never quite figure out what is going on until the film ends. Dislikes: A black-and-white film that would have been cooler in color. Rated PG for violence. Kids Caution: Very mild compared to horror films of today. Out of four stars, I give it 3 1/2 stars. A good thriller that could have been better in color.

Moving Into A New Phase
Outgrowing Friends Every one of us lives a life colored by individual and changing experiences, perceptions, needs, and desires. We connect with others, becoming friends and confidants, most often because they share something with us, such as an interest or need. But as time goes on there is change, and the bonds that brought you close to a treasured friend may not be enough to sustain the relationship. You may find your lives have gone in wildly different directions and you no longer share the same aspirations, or you may have changed on an energetic level. It is not unusual in such a situation to find that the comfort you found in the other person has vanished and that you have trouble relating as you once did. Outgrowing a friend can be confusing or painful, but it is a natural part of one's personal growth. You have a right to choose to surround yourself with those people who understand you, are helpful and compassionate, and put you at ease. Months or years into a friendsh

Moving House
well, back to good old blogging again... Last weekend we moved house (finally) we're now living in Tullamarine, right near the main airport, and funnily enough, the planes dont sound any louder here than where we were before, which was a lot further away from the airport.... But anyway... we signed the lease on Saturday, and we got a bulk of things over (not including funiture yet) I had to break up a fight between my cat and the neighbours cat (old house) and when I picked spider up, he bit me on the wrist, broke the skin and went right down to the bone... so heres me on our moving weekend with an infected wrist that I can barely move, wrapped up in bandages and a sulky cat who decided to hide under the airbed we had set up when we bought both of the cats over to the new house... but thats not the worst of it... of course he had to do this just before we got the trailer to move the stuff over... so heres me with an infected wrist that I cant move, trying to help mike move the fr
The Moving Walkway Is Now Ending...
I live in New York City. The pace of things here is to say the very least, faster then most. I find myself walking fast, eating fast, even sleeping fast. Every morning I have a similar routine; get up, walk the dog, feed the dog, shower and suit up, and off to work on the 4 or 5 train. I stand at the same place, get on the same train car, walk up the same steps, take the same escalator and out the same door of Grand Central. I do all these things to shave a few seconds off my commute to the office. I do it so that I will be there faster. The ipod is like my personal trainer for my commute. It pumps me up with its quick beats and flowing melodies all so that I can walk swiftly and with purpose, all so that my pace will be maintained. Take the ear phones out...and im like a child lost in a crowd. THis morning was no different from most, except I walked the dog to day-care/groomer for a "spa day" before I take her to Chicago for the holiday and I hopped the train. So much
Moving On.
Well.... Thanksgiving is once again come an gone for yet another year. Through all the stress, drama, joy, tears, cooking, food, shopping, annoyances, and so many other emotions tied in with holidays... In the end it really means nothing because people have to hang onto holidays so that they can get by with only seeing family members at that point in time because in this day and age we live in now, people are more concerned with only themselves instead of the ties that bind our hearts.... Family... Its a sad thing to see but it really was inevitable due to the nature and the time that we live in. For now everyone is taking a collective breath, the calm before the storm has only begun, the biggest holiday is only 32 days away and everyone will scurry around spending insane amounts of money on presents that people really do not need because a majority of people have truly forgotten what the spirit of christmas is and instead try to buy there childrens, spouses, family members, frien

Movies
Alright, being a normal red blooded male human (or at least that is my present incarnation.) I do have a fondness for the female form. However, a line has to be drawn somewhere. My preference would be in the film industry. I am not saying get rid of nudity altogether, but don't just put tits and ass in a movie in the hopes of getting a larger audience. Consider some of the classic movies of all time, such as Casablanca, Key Largo, any of the Bogart and Bacall movies actually. You never saw an inch of skin, yet, her sex appeal was not to be denied. It did not take nudity to give her that, but talent, and the fact that she was a classic beauty. Even in her old age, Lauren Bacall was something to behold. The same is true for other movies, as the industry moved out of the two beds in the bedroom, to one bed in the bedroom, there still was no need for nudity. The classic kiss with a fade to black was enough... it even got a couple of movies banned in Boston. With the sixt

Movie- We Are Marshall
We Are Marshall...True story. Ok, so this could very well have been the most depressing movie I have ever seen. I can be a softie sometimes but this brought me to a whole new level of soft. I actually stopped it twice. Definitely a tear jerker. It was a very very good movie though. I will watch it again. Alone of course. I can be showing that side of me to just anyone.lol
Moving
hey all I just wanted to let everyone know that I am moving. I was going to move in may but I am moving a lot sooner than I thought I was going to. But things have came up that make it not possible to stay here. I will let you know on one reason why I am going. I dont stay where I am not wanted and where someone asks another person if they will pick between me and their family. Me I think family is always first in life. So i am moving to a place where I am wanted and loved. Two kids are going with me, the third one cant because of her father. He has more money than me and he will fight til I have no money to fight for her. But this isnt about that. I am just letting you all know a few reasons why i am packing and moving. I hope that this place that I am moving to works out for me and my kids. I will keep everyone informed! Hugs....

I really hate doing these, because most of the time, nobody cares enough to read them anyway, and if they do read them, they are just being judgemental. Here goes some stuff anyway. First, before I tell about me, it's only fair that I say right away before you waste your time reading anymore, that I do periodically clean out my list. Right or wrong don't make a shit to me. If you don't add rate fan me back, I go take you off my list when I notice. And, if I mistakenly have taken you off, and notice, I will add you back. IF you have fanned rated added me, but then never return the visits / rates then I will delete you. (and btw, I do not down rate anyone. And I expect the same, sorry if you are one of those people that believes in judging honestly, you wont make it as my friend. This place to me, is about making friends and having fun.. It is NOT about down rating. Yes there are down raters but instead of letting that ruin this for me, I will just block down raters. Problem solved. And

Moving On
I’ve had a lot of thought about the fact recently, maybe its time but it’s hard to do. You spend so much time wishing to go back when you where happy and so much time being depressed about it when maybe if you just moved on you could really be happy again. Lets not get me wrong here I really want to do that but when you are depressed most of the time its pretty hard to really find someone out there in the crowd and make yourself look like someone special instead of the average lowlife out there. When only your close friends out there are the only ones that realize that as fact it makes things really hard. I mean really I spent 8 years with someone just to have them completely destroy me on the inside to all of a sudden ditch me for a so called friend of 22 years and go as far as move in with his fricking parents. That just completely destroyed me on the inside, granted I made mistakes with the relationship that I shouldn’t have but nothing even close to the mistakes she made and yet so

Movie Review: The Ghost (1963)
Plot: "A woman and her lover murder her husband, a doctor. Soon, however, strange things start happening, and they wonder if they really killed him, or if he is coming back from the dead to haunt them." Source-IMDB.Com Likes: While considered a B movie, the acting is pretty good and it is creepy at times.; The film quality and style are so poor that they come across as being funny.; There is a decent "twisted" ending. Dislikes: It was a bit long with too many dramatic pauses and camera shots. Rated R for violence. Out of four stars, I give this film 2 1/2 stars. Good acting but too long at times.

Movie Review: Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix (2007)
Plot: Harry Potter and crew train to battle the Dark Lord Voldemort as they try to get through their fifth year of school. Likes: Some great wizard battle scenes. (The battle between Voldemort and Prof. D. reminded me of the light saber battle between Yoda and Count Dooku.; The special effects of flight, magic and other creatures. Dislikes: So much of the novel was rewritten or just never made the final film that very little character development and minor story lines development is done. Rated PG-13 for fantasy violence and scary moments. Kids' Caution: There scenes of nightmares and attacked on minors that small kids may be frightened by. Out of four stars, I give this film 2 1/2 stars. The great wizard battle scenes helped, but it needed more of the book to be used in the film.
Moving Forward, But Not Ahead
The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. These are the times of fast food and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses but broken homes. These are the days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees, but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgement, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine but less wellness. We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, g

I've had a lot of realizations lately about my life, the fact that I'm too damned passive for my own good being one of them, that I should have listened to everyone in the first place before making stupid mistakes, and if I'd just opened my eyes, I would have realized that there was something worthwhile out there, someone who has been there for me the last 4 or 5 years now who, yeah, is sometimes a little cranky *tease* but has always been my shoulder to cry on and the only person to really care. Well, next month I'm landing into a good sum of money. With that, I'm packing up all my stuff and life, and moving out of this shit hole that I was never meant for in the first place and out to something new and yet, in it's own ways, familiar. I don't car
Moving To Canada
In one month I shall be moving to Canada to be with my Master. He does own me and will fully control me and everything in my life. I am so looking forward to this. I look forward to these big changes and giving myself to my Master. I will be giving up my life here to live in Canada and not be returning to the USA. I will love serving my Master 24/7 365 days as a housemaid/slut/slave. I will work my ass off for Master to make sure he is comfortable and well taken care of. He will have control over everything I do and have. It cant go by fast enough, well I must start getting things together now so I be ready for this big day.

Movie Review: "shrek The Third" (2007)
Plot: Shrek and crew need to find a new king for and stop Prince Charming from taking over Far Far Away. Likes: More of buddy film for adults.; Animation is as good as the first two films. Dislikes: Has fewer cultural references.; A short film that runs at too quick of a pace. Rated PG for some crude humor, suggestive content and swashbuckling action. Out of four stars, I give this film three stars. It is more of an adult film that is only 92 minutes long.

Moving New Year's Eve
I had originally planned on waiting until Springtime, but I decided to move back to North Tonawanda(Buffalo Area) because I am going crazy with being Homesick. I had been here seven months and besides working found no one to enjoy any fun times with. LOL, I think I only went out twice the whole time I was here. If it wasn't for all my Friends and Fans on Fubar...I don't know how bad the cabin fever may have gotten....so I thank you all for the LUV and Attention.. and I will miss U. I am hoping to be back online by February(I have to MY First Fu_birthDay is coming LOL), unless I am able to share someone's connection where I am moving. Peace, Love, And Frienship! XOX PHIL

Moving On
It is time Mom and dad that i moved on. You brought me into this world, now i must go on alone If I'd only known how it would break my heart to be so far apart. I feel like dying, though i keep on trying, through all this crying. I take on more glance, I wish i had one more chance. To see you walk through that door, I hit the floor. so much pain can't break the chains, it begins to rain. It is time mom and dad, even though i feel so sad. Like a rose I had to grow. I wish upon a star, wish you werent so far. It is time for me to climb. Moving on mom and dad why do we say goodbye? I only wanted you both to to be a part. Why do you break my heart? I take one more glance, only wish i had one more chance. I am moving on mom and dad, why do i feel so bad? You were my best friends, why does it have to end, why cant we mend what's been done. It's time mom and dad I say goodbye I can only cry because i really did try. You made it clear, you never want

Moving' On Up, To The Top....
Well, it's been a very eventful time since my last journal entry. Things are going well with Chris and I and the boys are doing well. John (the 3 y.o.) has hit the whiney stage and is testing everybody to see just how far he can go to get what he wants; Alan it seems is having a few problems still. We got a phone call from his school today to inform us that he had thrown a snow/ice ball at an older kid today at the bus stop and hit him in the eye with it. The kid wound up going to the hospital to get checked out. Chris got worried about getting sued by the other kid’s mother, so we went up to the school to find out just what had happened. The principal wasn't there so we scheduled a meeting with him as well as Alan's teacher in order to get everything settled and find out how Alan's behavior and performance are doing. Needless to say ... he got it when he got home today. I think he's scared of what might happen after our meeting tomorrow. We gave him a chance to tell us anything and ev
Moving On
You know it is funny how life works. For so long you think you are in love with a man, and all he does it mistreats you and makes you feel so bad you do not think that there is anyone out there that can get it out of your head that you are worth being loved. For almost three years, I was in a relationship and thought I had a good relationship. Little did I know I was being played the whole time, and mentally abused. I sat and would watch women going through basically the same thing, and could see what was going on with them and the abuse, but when it came to my relationship, I could not see past my nose. It took me almost three years to realize that our relationship had been over for a long time, and I thought that all was fine. I was miserable and no matter what anyone said, no one could change my mind. I guess it all started to come out the more that I actually sat and talked to friends about it. I had not loved him in so long that I did not think that I ever had. Have you ev

Moving To Cali
I'll be offline for a few weeks. Moving away from Florida and going to Cali. Lived in the SF area once a few years back, but I'm going to SD, find me a beach bum and sit back and relax on the beach. Things haven't been what I wanted here, the man I want doesn't want me, and I'm just not happy here. Thought about moving to Miami, but...Nahh...Cali sounds better. I'm movin' on. ~Ciao~

(moving On)
in the last week in have moved on with my life, i took a stad and made changes. it's not easy startting over but i had no choice..the hardest part is how it affects my kids, but they seem to have ajusted better than i..for me the struggle to make it has just begun, in the months ahead it will show if i have what it takes to make it..we all take different paths in our lives that we are not sure of or even if we made the right decision, only time will tell...so far my decision to move on alone has proven to be the right one..i am far from my goel, but i know i'll get there...as i get there i'll let you know all of my progress...for now, it's still just the beginning...
The Movies
As we entered the theater your heart started pounding. You were dressed in black Mini skirt and a Loose blouse, I was in loose jeans and a dress shirt. We ordered popcorn and a soda and then looked for seats the theater was busy but we found seats in the back. There was a young couple in front of us the only people in our section. The coming attractions started and so did you, you leaned in for a long sexy kiss letting your lips linger on mine. I slid my arm around you pulling you closer to me kissing passionately. I slid my hands across your exposed legs running my hands upon them you sighed as I ran my nails on the inside of your thighs. Lightly scratching my nails up and down them. Parting your legs I ran my hand up the rest of the way knowing you were pantie less for the date. Lightly running my fingers over your moistening lips you let out a moan and the young woman turned around to shush us then a smile crossed her lips as she looked down noticing for the first time what w

Moving
ARGH! I have to move by friday of this week, and i STILL don't have a place. It's driving me insane! My parents won't let me move in with them, all of the friends that I would move in with live with their parents, and I don't have enough money to get my own place. This is getting seriously ridiculous. I don't know what the fuck to do. I'm starting to think that I'll never find a place.....and if that happens......I don't even want to think about it. All I wish is that some miracle would happen and I'd magically have a place to live.
Movin.... Ewww!
I'm movin at the end of this month back home to my parents' because I need to get my bills straightened out and my life basically... I am supposed to be starting a new job soon that pays more and gives more hours but now the position has been put on hold so I don't know when or if I'm gettin that job now. My roommate has changed I don't know who she is anymore and I hate that!! We use to be best friends but since she has been with Ralf she has been actin different and I don't like it. She isn't the same girl everyone use to love most people r leery of her lately because she is 2 faced. Our lease is up in March on our apartment and she doesn't know whether she is stayin or movin or atleast that is what she tells me... Accordin to several people at work she is keepin the apartment and has planned to for awhile now. She told them that she was gettin married on the February 16th also and I knew nothing about that till I confronted her about it. Then she told me all about what they r
Moving Back...
So about 6 months ago, my site was closed down by the top dogs at Corporate, causing me to go look for another job. I wanted to stay where I was, but things weren't looking good - the high-tech jobs have mostly gone away, meaning I could stay if I was willing to work for about half what I was making. Then I got an offer to move back to the Portland, OR area. While the pay would be the same, the thought of going BACK to Portland was not good - I left there over 7 years ago because I was sick and tired of all the dreary, wet, gray days. Let me tell you I certainly wasn't looking forward to going back. So I've been back in the Portland area for right at 6 months and it's been wet, dreary, gray, etc...but not so much that I can't stand it. I guess I'll just have to continue to stick it out and see what a full year brings. Welcome me back, Portland!!

Well its happening I am moving! No more city life for me. I am gonna be bored I can tell already lol. I am moving to a beatiful home out in the country, Its really not that far from the city area about 10 mins or so, at first I was looking forward to it, but now I am realizing how far I am gonna be from all my friends. I know they will come visit, specially in the summer lol. how long of a drive it will be to go to work, even though I can carpool with a friend, who lives farther than me. And my kids friends will all be out by the old house, I know kids are quick to make new friends but you always miss the old ones. I know we worked out all the pro's and Con's before making up our minds about the move, but I think its all happening so fast I wasnt really prepared for it. Ive been busting butt trying to get things packed, and ready to move. and damn its alot of work. I also work full time plus, and trying to get everything done and moved before Easter. Moving Foreward..with Purpose
Hatred is a bitter, damaging emotion. It winds itself through the blood, infecting its host and driving it foreward without any reason. Its view is jaundiced and it skews even the clearest of eyesights. Sacrifice is noble and tender. It's the action of a host who values others above himself. Sacrifice is bought through love and decency. It is truly heroic. Vengeance is an act of violence. It allows those who have been wronged to take back some of what was lost to them. Unlike sacrifice, it gives back to the one who practices it. Love is decietful and sublime. In its truest form, it brings out the best in all beings. At its worst, it's a tool used to manipulate and ruin anyone who is stupid enough to hold it. Don't be stupid. Sacrifice is for the weak. Hatred corrupt. Love destroys. Vengence is the gift of the strong. Move foreward, not with hatred, not with love. Move foreward with purpose. Take back what was stolen. make those who laughed at your pain pay. Not

Movie Review
I saw VANTAGE POINT today ... with Dennis Quaid. In one word the movie was GREAT. It shows what an assignation attempt on our President in Spain. And the whole movie is based on what took place before, during and after the attempt from the terrorist's perspective, from the president's perspective, from innocent American tourist and the perspective of the Secret Service. The chase scene towards the end of the movie leaves Spain in shambles. I highly recommend to go see this movie if you are into fast paced action packed movies. RATING - TWO FULL BREASTS

Moving On
So i recently broke up with the one person i "thought" was the One. We seemed to match on every level and everything appeared great. Sadly i was mistaken. To say that his temper is out of hand would be putting it mildly. Anyways i have realized that moving on is much easier when i have the great friends that i do in my life. They know who they are. They have stood by me through everything. Even when i've called at two in the morning. Love you beth. So in stating that i decided to just cut ties with my sudo family up here in pa because they of course wouldn't know the first thing about being supportive or on what a person needs. Getting ready to head south where hell at least it isn't snowing and friggin -5 degrees. Yes its that cold here in NorthCentral PA right now. Damn i hate the cold. So why am i blogging about life if i am content with it? Because i want to. Its my blog and i'll say what i want. Besides i need a great place to vent. Myspace is just too much drama these days. The Movie I Am Currently Working On
Johnny Depp as Dillinger CROWN POINT | Johnny Depp, aka John Dillinger in the Universal film "Public Enemies," is hitting Crown Point this spring reportedly to reprise the gangster's bold 1934 escape from Lake County Jail. The scene will be shot on location at the Old Sheriff's House and Jail, 226 S. Main St., sources said. Universal declined to comment on specifics. The front part of the Second Empire-style building housed the top cop in Dillinger's era. The back holds the cells from which the bank robber fled in broad daylight. Dates for the Crown Point shoot are under wraps. But director Michael Mann has targeted the old Lake County Criminal Court, 220 S. Main St., as his headquarters during a three-day stay. Reborn the Hall of Justice Bar and Ballroom in the early 1990s, the jail's neighbor will host up to 200 actors, crew members and technicians. "Hollywood's coming to Crown Point," said Philip Struebig, co-owner of the Hall of Justice. "It's going to be

Anyway at an extremely young age I can remember a phenomenon that turned my life into a frenzy after just a few rubs. After the first time it was done .........I was insanely rubbing one out at every chance I could get.The next step was to find a partner to share in the fun. It didnt take me long to find one and only because they were just a curious as I about the newly developed apendage. We did the deed only to be a little disgusted because it was hell trying to get things going like we wanted. From then on it was hand or work...... the work being an extended ordeal with a female that usualy meant that you might get some but only after th
Moving...good Idea Or Bad?
Well for those of you who have read my profile you know I'll be buying a house soon. I've been looking around the tri-state and found a few that I like. One of my best friends moved to FL a few years ago and just recently told me I should move down there. I mean don't get me wrong I'd love to vacation in Panama but do I really wanna live there? When she moved there everything about her changed for the worst! When I move I want it to be for the better. What should I be looking for when it comes to moving...most importantly if I move out of town! I know about checking the back ground history of the neighbor hood and the house as well as the schools but what other factors? I also have to keep in mind that I'm moving alone with 3 kids. I guess I'm just tired of being in this town in some ways. It's always been my home so I'm use too it. but at the same time I know that there is nothing around here and this city offers nothing. I just have this phobia of not knowing anyone where I move..Is

The Movie Show
My boyfriend Mark and I were at the local movie theatre. Since the theatre was wasn’t that packed we sat right at the back. The only people near by were a good looking young guy at the end of our row and an old couple about six rows down. So I didn’t object when Mark’s warm wandered to my breasts. I looked around to make sure no one was watching as he unbuttoned my shirt and rubbed my nipples till they were hard. I glanced up and saw the other guy at the end of the row staring at us. I told Mark we had an audience. Let’s give him something to watch, “Mark muttered, opening my legs. He rubbed my pussy with his elbow as he fondled my tits, knowing the combo would drive me crazy. I reached down and unzipped Mark’s fly, working his hard cock. He moaned, than took one hand off my breasts and slid it between my legs. To my surprise he called out softly “come over here mate. Laura will wank you off. The guy was over like a shot. I was so turned on by the bulge in his jeans. I fished out

God willing a place and the money will fall into place! heh, any of you generous souls out there wanna help me out!?!? *bats eyes* hell i figure if i can even get 10 to give 10 that turns my lights on! just little things like that! anyway, i hope you all are doing well, getting ready for any fun St. Patricks Day celebrations

For those few that may not know already, I'm in the process of moving. I lived and grew up near Chicago and moved down to southern Missouri 3 years ago. Now, heading back up north for a bit to the wonderful state of Indiana. I must be crazy, huh? lol Long story but have my reasons. I'm hoping this will be a good thing for my daughter and I. I better make sure I pack my winter clothes. I'm all packed and just about all ready to go. So after tonight I will be gone for a bit until I get settled in and get internet service up and running again. Will miss you all. Movie Review - Outpost
Outpost Ok, so picked up the movie the other day. I had never heard of it but it said on the cover "you can’t kill whats already dead" Immediately I was thinking allright a cool ass zombie flic. So I picked it up. Long story, but really cool. Basically a bunch of Nazi Zombie’s killing anyone that comes near their old base. Turns out the Nazi’s created a way to keep people living no matter what happens to them. They had created a small force through these experiments. Well guys show up to capture the machine that produces the energy to control them. Needless to say they well have to fight it out. Pretty good movie, watch it.. Previews..... Zombie Strippers - with Jenna Jameson, can’t wait to see it. Imagine Jenna with an AK. Bats, Human Harvest - Pretty sick. I am skeered of bats anyhow so it really has me. Boogeyman 2 - looks sick, but eh dunno. Was not a fan of the boogeyman, but Tobin Bell(SAW) is in it. Revolver - haha, Ray Liota is in it so I sort of

Movies I Watched Today
To Die For: Not bad. I know it's an older movie but I've never seen it. Liked it. Loved the ending. Could have done without the Joaquin Phoenix mullet action but all in all a good flick. Love Stinks: I was falling asleep when this shit taco came on. I admit I watched it through to the end but French Stewart is much better suited as a cracked out alien on a late night sitcom. I would pay to watch him in a death match battle royale stare contest with Renée Zellweger. If you can make this happen I will touch your penis. Dave Attell: Captain Miserable: I've seen this like 50 times but its completely fucking note worthy. Dave, if you are on fubar, I want to lick your receding hairline. Hit me up yo! Into the Wild: WHAT THE FUCK. I thought this was going to be a cinematic orgasm. It had a good basis for plot and Im sure is a fan-fucking-tabulous read, but as far as movies go, I would have been better off taking the dvd and carving the bible into my arm skin. Too m

Moving To South Carolina
Believe it or not - I am gettin up off my lazy ass, moving to South Carolina, starting a new job, and making a fresh start!!!! I know some people can’t believe I have the nerve and think I’m nuts going somewhere where there is no one to "take care of me". Well, believe it or not, I am a strong, independent woman perfectly capable of taking care of myself. I don’t "need" any man to take care of me. Wanting someone to care for, and to care for me, is much different than needing. I can live without it, but it doesn’t mean I have to WANT to. But that is beside the point. I need to do this - for ME - for my sanity. It is a VERY positive move that I am making. Even if I fail, and end up coming back, I can look back and say at least I was willing to take the risk. I will so much miss my family and friends here. But it is only about 8 hours or less away. It’s not like I can’t come back to visit. And I WILL!!!!
Movie Review - Beat The Devil
Beat the Devil is another one of those movies, like Captain Mongo’s Porno Playhouse, that I wanted to see because I found a clip on YouTube with Evan Stone being a complete crack up. If he ever decided to quit porn I am sure that he could find a job easy in mainstream comedy movies. When allowed to let loose the man is hysterical. Eric Masterson plays the perfect straight man to Evan . If it wasn’t for the well written plot, the antics of Evan Stone and the sex scene involving Stone and Jesse Jane I probably would have fallen asleep. (Read More)

Moving On
This year, I'm moving forward. I will no longer be dwelling in the past. So I got really BALLzy and called the man who molested me for nearly 5 years of my most formidible years of my life. Interesting how he didn't remember me until I told him that I was the youngest daughter of the Reed family and also new he'd mollested my oldest sister before I was born. Evertime I'd ask a question, he'd stammer or simply say, "I've done a lot of bad things in my life, but I've been saved and God has forgiven me. I am a spritual person. But I wasn't running up the phone bill to have a prayer meeting. I told him every sordid detail of the abuse that began in Sunday School and on to swimming parties in the creek. I told him of the triggers for my post traumatic stress disorder. He humbly said, "well I'm sorry for your troubles. I've loved you and your fsmily for such a long time. I told him that he wasn't allowed to love me. I told him because he told me I was beautiful and he lo
Moving
I never thought I would be moving out of Bakersfield but I will be moving here in a week. I am kinda sad but its gonna be great. A friend of mine is a tattoo artist and wants to teach me to become one. Then we are gonna try to open a tattoo shop in Texas. I am kinda sad because my best friend is possibly moving back to Cali when I thought I would be closer to her but everthing happens for a reason I guess.
Moving To Tacoma Area
Well it looks like I will be re-locating to the Tacoma WA area within the next two weeks. I have alot of preporation to do prior to departure, and also have a knife I need to finnish before I leave. It mite be my last knife I get to make for some time. But any hoo, i'm hoping everything goes as planned. But there is still a hint of the unknown that is bothering me. I will be there for about a year time, and I know durring that time I will be safe, but still... I think it is the new area thing that is bothering me, Maybe it's something else too...
Moving Out!!!!!
Well the greatest thing has come about. Me, my bestest friend in the whole wide world, Jess, and Luke have gotten our own place. It is fucking nice. It is 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, dining room, kitchen, laundry room, the living room is big and it has a fireplace as well. The extra bedroom is going to be converted into a computer room. And my room is pretty big too. I am going to go to rent-a-center and rent out a bedroom set. The cabinetry in the kitchen is absolutely gorgeous. Oh and there is a bar in the living room as well. I am going to start packing up my belongings tonight. We are going to be moving in next week. she is going to be cleaning the place up because it was just vacated. We were the very first to apply for it because we knew the people who were living there and they told us that they were going to be moving to texas. So we scooped it up quick before anybody else even tried. She was skeptical about renting it out to us because we were all young but she came around when

Moving! Yay!
So yesterday we got our new house, and now I have to start to think about packing..ugh! This is making me freak out, because I know that moving is going to set me back a little, ok not a little a lot! But I am anxious to see if it is my current house that is making me so sick all the time, the new house is awesome it has so much room, that we will no longer be so cram packed in this little house. Oh well now today I have to make all the phone calls to get all the stuff switched into our names and get the net over there and our satellite. I am excited but stressed at the same time! Oh well..anyways I hope to be out of this hole and into our new house by the 28th of this month! So If around the end of the month you don't see me here for a few days, I will be getting the family settled into the new house!
