Sunday, May 27, 2007 Personal inventory...LB So I have been learning about inventory, personal inventory. We all take inventory of our friends, if we listen to them, then we know what triggers them. We are all products of our environment, molded by our experiences and the past relationships in our lives. I recently had the experience, where a friend of mine, expresses how it upsets them when people don't call them back. The NON call back was a Trigger. A trigger that reverts them back into abandonment. Someone that they loved, abandoned them when they were experiencing the death of their parent. They abandoned them in their biggest hour of need. I knew this about my friend, so you would think, that I would take this into consideration when a situation of abandonment arises. I would wouldn't I???? Okay, so no one has heard much out of me for a while. I post my stuff in the Voice, but nothing "personal." Anyway ... I have been working on my latest book. If it doesn't go any further the SpiritFlight, it will be my last. Someone once said a definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. My son, Warren, quotes that often. Last time I checked I wasn't insane ... but then again, I could be in denial. I dropped the Criminal Justice Master's. Since I am not in government, I finally came to the conclusion that having that MSCJ would get me no place. Hell, having taken and earned my Class III Security Commission (in May, no less) hasn't done a damn thing for me. I have talked to a number of Security firms here, and if hired I will start at the bottom and work my way up. With my credentials that is nonsense. Beautiful Story A good airline story Tip: Keep inconveniences in perspective. This past week I was on a four and a half hour, non-stop flight from Seattle, Washington, to Atlanta, Georgia. In all my years of traveling, I have learned that each time a plane has the opportunity to stop, there is potential for unexpected challenges. Flight delays, weather and airline crews can create unanticipated challenges on any trip. Therefore, I always try to fly non-stop between my destinations. About an hour into this particular flight, the Captain's voice rang over the intercom. He asked if there was a physician or nurse on the plane. If so, he asked them to identify themselves by ringing the flight attendant call button beside their seat. I listened carefully but heard no one ring their bell. I immediately began to wonder what was happening. In a few minutes the Captain informed us that there was a medical emergency on board and asked again if there wa

I have a problem with guilt. I freely admit it. I could blame my Catholic upbringing, but let's face it -- nothing about that stuck except an intense dislike of kneeling, so why would the guilt? Alas, while there is plenty to blame Catholicism for, certainly my guilt is not one of them. No, I place the blame for my almost pathological avoidance of inflicting hurt on others purely on my own shoulders. As someone who tends to be sensitive to slights and small hurts herself, I go out of my way to avoid bringing pain to others -- go out of my way to an extreme. When queried as to my shortcomings as a significant other, my exes all shared variances of "you're wonderful, except you need to stop worrying so much about hurting people." While I do not act in opposition to my own nature or overall self-interest, I will, in essence, take pain onto myself in order to avoid hurting others. Sometimes it does a person wonders to put down on paper or type how they are feeling about life and things in general just so they can come back to it later and read it with "perspective". Lately there is a pervasive sadness about me that I can't seem to shake. 1 Person Can Make A Difference!
Last Thursday I was in line at my son's school awaiting to pick him up. In front of me was a newer Ford Focus, and in that car was a little head bobbing all around the back seat, and poking up through between the front seats. This is a story that had to be told but hard to do so I believe without seeming to be self serving or anything else of the sort but here goes. Back in my youth many years ago, I had a favorite aunt...my dad's sister named Helena Pecot (I so miss her) whose health was failing her, She found she had breast cancer. At the time I was too young to fully understand what it all meant but in time, it got the better of her and she would succumb to it. well. it has been since July 17th 2008, that my mom was taken away from me. every part of me was broken. I happened to drive past Burr Oak last night while I was running some errands. Needless to say, it's still off limits to the public. There were sherriff undercover cars blocking off the entrance, although one of the gates was open. One of the investigated sections is still blocked off from view. Near the end of last week, our family pet , Tux (american short hair cat) was out in the breezeway (the area between the garage and main house) as my mother was telling him to get inside , so she could shut the door as the heat was still on . For no apparent reason that i know of he started hissing and growling at her, which at the time was rather amusing because he never hisses or growles. We left him out there for a while to cool off, and he ended up coming in on his own like a half hour later. Guess he got pissed off for some reason. Then yesterday, the same thing happend, but this time when she tried to touch him, he swated at her. Catching her on the top of her hand pretty good. Which resulted in the same thing, being left out there for a while to cool off, but me being me wasnt having that.
