Important - Take Seriously
This probably does not apply to the majority of you but it just happened to me so I am doing this blog as advise to you all . A few hours ago I tried to purchase a bling pack and a one day blast. Neither of which were successfull, yet my card was charged with both charges I was told that my card had been declined. I had my online card account open in another tab so I know that the charges were taken yet I wasnt sold the goods. After Christmas...
Some friends from work and I are planning a trip after Christmas...nothing big, just a weekend, and since we are in retail, it will be a very nice relaxing trip (I hope). So anyways, it is me and two girls and one guy. I already am feeling a little weird about the trip because, well, they are all 20 or 21 and I'm about to be 31, but to have the guy go with us girls is a little awkward too. Think About It
Veteran's Day isn't really just 1 day. November 11th isn't the only day you can stop and thank someone for serving in the US military. It can be July 22nd when you thank someone. The fact is...you can thank a member of the US militar ANY day of the year. That simple thank you will mean something to them. I've been part of a pen pal program with soldiers stationed overseas and most of them are so happy to receive letters, even if they are from people they don't know. It helps make life easier for them, helps them for a moment forget the hell they are going through. I'm related to a LOT of military members and I know just one small thank you means a lot to them. My father served. Both of my grandfathers did and even 2 of my uncles did. I've got a cousin who in a few months will be a member of the military. Trust me...your simple thank you does mean a lot to them.

Ok my next story involves my older half-sister Laurie who was EMT at the time. We were all down in Louisiana for the 4th of July and were having a big family get together, sitting around another half-sisters front yard grilling out, and Laurie' pagers goes off. So, I'm basically a social worker. I work with families who are at risk of having their children detained by DCS, or have had them detained and are working on reunification. But, the second I say that I work wtih the DCS (not FOR, but WITH), people assume that I'm the one who takes the children from the home. Everybody has their nightmare stories about kids that were yanked because of rumors, or false information, but I'm going to tell you that all of these kids that I have worked with were living in unsafe environments and needed to be somewhere safe until parents can get their acts together. I just want to say that we are not the BAD guy here. Again, that is all.

I see a subtle energy therapist. They do work in a person's auric field and clear out the crap if you like. Primarily they try to bring into balance that which is in your emotional heart with that which is in your mind and body. People don't realise that, when they do not follow their heart on a matter, and allow their head to overtake, things can be misaligned within their environment. My Boss
My boss is really pissing me off lately. I already had to tell him to lay off my body when he is talking to me; I hate getting my personal space invaded. Yesterday
Went to the neurologist and we saw the MRI for first time. We saw where the stoke took place. It was in his brain stem. He passed all of his tests. OK so Im not around fubar that much this month, mainly because this year, Im pretty much flat broke. So buying a lot of expensive presents for family and friends just isnt happening. My husband is getting better with each day. His stroke was devastating but to see him today you can almost not know he had one. He had his speech therapy on Friday and he is so much better. No Time For Fu...maybe After The Holidays
I finally found a full time job. I also have a part time job. I go to school. I have a bf. i still have not gotten the internet at my condo yet. waiting for comcast to be available because cox sucks! comcast said theyre moving to the valley of the sun in 09. so hopefully by early january i can get me some cable internet and a house phone since my celly gets like almost no reception inside my place! Doug and I went to see Quarantine, and we have decided that its better if we never watch any movies about epidemic diseases/bio warfare typa things together. Growing up with a mother who was an epidemiologist that studied infectious diseases, I was fed on a daily basis with completely pointless information like what causes buboes in bubonic plague, how to safely contain Anthrax in your house, and what are the signs of Ebola outbreaks. While all that stuff didn't prevent me from failing Chemistry and Bio twice in HS, it made me a great movie ruiner. Watching The Quarantine, I was flabbergasted at people's failure to detect rabies right away, at the inaccurate treatment of people infected with the disease, and other minute details that I knew my mother would've pointed out. Ughh, I'm becoming like her, and I'm not even a crazy scientist!

Was Kinda A Tough Day With The Dr!
I met with the Chemo dr and found out my success rate for my cancer after 5 years is only 38%, the 80% was 1 year. My dr., who is awesome, said he wants me in that percent and they are trying to get me on a clinical study in which he says would be beneficial to me. It apparently has gone into my lymph nodes in that area! If they get me in on the study, I won't have to pay for that part of Chemo. He says my age and health are definitely a plus! My Chemo starts on the 29th of Dec. If they don't get the Study I will be doing Chemo on a 21 day cycle. Which means I will have Chemo 4 days in a row and then break til the 21st day and start over for approx. 18 weeks (6 treatments). For those of you keeping track and researching the chemo for the 21 day cycle will be Cisplatin and Fluorouracil (also know as 5 FU). I was given so much info today the clinical chemo I don't recall! Ok so last night we got a nice long night of freezing rain.. my Jeep gets blanketed in the beautiful crystal frozen wonder that we know as Ice. I go out and start my car so its nice and warm for my 15 minute drive into town... I leave the keys in the ignition, Spare keys in my cup holder, and all doors unlocked, shut door. I grab my heavy duty Scraper and get to work, I start chipping away from the front right fender all the way around my beloved Jeep. As I work my way around to the passenger front door I notice it's froze shut, so I chip around the seal and begin tugging on the door. I tug and tug and tug to no avail, finally I notice that the door is locked, I think "hm ok, I must have just unlocked my driver door.." I go around to the driver door and it doesn't open.. "WTF..!" and I see both sets of keys are in there! "That's Okay I can get in with a coat hangar!" So I get myself a coat hangar and make a little hook, But it doesn't wanna wedge itself in there.. so

My Weekend
So I had an amazing weekend. Firday I made a great dinner for me and Chad and he seemed to like it...hehe. First off let me get into how much I am in love with this boy. Yes it is the last leg of the xmas shopping season.. Just wanted to point something out I notice on here since this is my first holiday season on the fu. Why does it seem like we have forgotten the meaning of christmas? Is christmas just about the gift giving? Isnt christmas more about giving and not getting? Isnt it about being with family and forgetting about the stresses of life? Its not about the gifts its about the ones you love. Some say it is just another day, yes it is but it is a special day. it is a day for being with family and sharing the joy. Life...true Story Of 2008
I never realized how precious life is until this morning. Now mind you, I have encountered a near death experience before back in 2004 after having my youngest son and 3 weeks later was hours away from death when I was rushed to the hospital with a blood clot in my lung. Thankfully God spared me that time and I cherish my children more because of that experience. But nothing could have prepared me for this morning. It's December and of course weather is nasty here in NY. I had a doctors appt at 8am this morning and the drive normally takes me an hour. After seeing we were having freezing rain over night I decided to leave an hour earlier to make sure I arrived safely. I was fine after getting my early morning cup of coffee. I'm driving on the highway going with traffic at about 55 MPH. The roads were slick in some areas and slushy all over so I'm driving with precautions. I was on a 3 lane highway. I was in the far left lane and an 18 wheeler was in the far right lane. Out of nowhere,

Most of you know I organize and carry out a christmas donation/fundraiser drive every year. This year was no exception. Saturday night I hosted a christmas events in the street outside my store complete with horse and buggys, a 16 foot christmas tree, a childen's choir singing christmas carols and a couple raffles to raise some money. I "adopted" out 32 kids from my angel tree, raised 800 dollars for Bikers Against Child Abuse and collected almost 500 pounds of food for the food bank. In addition I doled out clothing, food and toys to 12 needy families from donations I received, I dressed as Santa Claus and delivered presents to 16 kids today and today I participated in a Christmas program at the convalescent center with a local merchant. This evening I took a bike and the remaining boys toys I had and went to visit a local cancer patient. 6 years old. His parents tell me he gets worse by the day but the doctors are pretty hopeful he will pull through. But everyone knows there

I have received a lot of questions as to why the name "One_Tattered_Teddybear". Birthdays Suck!
No, this isn't a blog bitching about how I didn't get enough attention paid to me, or whatever. Marriage
So I've been in the unique position that most of the people I went to high school with, and college for the most part, have been younger than me. While three years is typically not that big, in their points in life they are much less mature than I am. Now please don't get me wrong, I am not trying to brag, just stating what pretty much all of them have said. What I have seen is that a great number of them get married after meeting their first "love."
