When I met my wife, we were both stationed at Ft. Myer, Virginia. She was a medic and I was a member of the Presidential Saluting Battery. Her barracks were right across the street from mine, and every day after duty hours, I’d run over to the WAC Shack and ask if Specialist Collins was receiving guests. I support my friends on here in everything that they do, and wish you all the best of luck, but I'm not going to be participating in anymore contests. I'm just a little tired of seeing every single bulletin being about a contest, which is why I don't even read them anymore. Contests where you can vote as many times as you want for someone was a good idea at first, but now I think it's just a way for the person hosting the contest to get points. I mean, they are the ones who really benefit from the contests. You get 5 points per pic comment I believe, so when you have people comment bombing the pics, your getting a shitload of points. I was half tempted to host my own contest LoL. So much on my mind I don't even know where to begin lol. My trip was wonderful. It was my first time to fly, first time to really go anywhere besides right here in the tri-state area. I went to stay in St Thomas, Virgin Islands for 2 weeks with a very dear friend. Reflections On Winter Solstice
I was running late, and getting irritated with circumstances that were beyond my control. I knew that I was expected much earlier, I had a very important date with a man and a fire. It was worth the wait by the time I got there as the fire was going strong with the coals singing and crackling. On this night I didn't come there to be social with a big group of people, it wasn't my purpose. Sitting semi silently with Owl and Ferret under the stars was the best pre Christmas gift ever. I knew that was what I was supposed to be doing. When we all got back to the Wolfden.. I was saying goodbye to Owl, and I thanked him for keeping his promise and building that fire for me. This morning I breathe deeply and notice my hair still smells of the fire's smoke. I again think of my wonderful friend and the fire he tended for me until I could see him......I'm still smiling.

How does one recover? I see in some as if some mythical secret to instant recovery when it comes to matters that seem to not heal for me, or if they do, it’s as much as years later and never fully. Some things are easy to heal. I’ve broken numerous bones from arm and ribs to toes, sprained ankles fingers and toes. I get cut up daily at work. Lil nicks to larger cuts.
