A True Friend
What kind of affect some one will have on my life,
is really hard to say.
A lot of people have touched my life,
each one in their own way.
Most people just come and go,
others come and stay around.
The ones that last a life time,
are very rarely found.
These are the ones that make me laugh,
sometimes they make me cry.
They are the ones who will answer me,
when I am asking myself why.
With these people there is an unspoken bond,
they’re people I know I can trust.
These people I know will remember me,
long after I turn to dust.
If you’re reading these words then you should know,
I’ve let you in my heart.
No matter what happens in our lives,
from there you’ll never part.
Out of all the people I have come to know,
you’re one of the few on whom I can depend.
I want you to know I consider it a privilege,
to call you a true friend.
