My Smile
When I woke up this morning, I couldn’t find my smile.
So I stayed in bed to think about it for a while.
I couldn’t believe it, how stupid of me.
To lose my smile and not know where it could be.
I looked in my closet and under my bed.
It wasn’t there so I tried the kitchen instead.
I looked in the cabinets and under the table.
Hoping to find my smile, but I wasn’t able.
I went to the living room hoping to find,
where I had lost this smile of mine.
I looked behind the T.V. and under the chair.
I looked behind the couch, it wasn’t any where.
I went to the bathroom and looked under the sink.
I had to find my smile soon or go over the brink.
I stopped at the mirror and looked at my reflection.
I asked myself the unanswerable question.
If I don’t find my smile what am I going to do?
It was about that time that I thought of you.
My thoughts of you made me crack a smile.
Wouldn’t you know it; it was with me the whole while.
What I am telling you _____ without you around,
I don’t think my smile would have ever been found.
