Katrina..blowin Steam...
Today I saw a news report on how the peoples of New Orleans were in such bad shape and suffering from Delayed Stress disorders. The newsman told of doctors needing help to handle the influx of people that were living in what he considered a war zone were the destruction of Katrina still darkens the landscape. There was a 30 something fellow interviewed who told horror stories of living in mould covered housing and seeing how the government needs to send those in his condition money and help to get him into a new home and the neighborhoods rebuilt. Well maybe I’m a bit on the political incorrect side but….. Get the hell over it… I had lots of sympathy after Katrina hit the coast and could not understand why we heard so much at the time from the press all the lives that were going to be lost. These make the best memories, and times sitting around a campfire roasting marshmallows or having a root beer after a family outing seem to bring out the love we share. We don't seem to be accomplishing anything at these times. No chores are getting done around the house, no schoolwork, no repairs, and no moneymaking. But these times of peace, relaxation, and a sense of endless time of being, not doing, may be essential to our ability to get other things done later. Certainly we are most receptive to our feelings, new ideas, and unplanned adventures at these moments. Maybe we should add kukaro to our vocabulary.

Celebration
As some one in my friends list has oh so politely put it - I make up days to celebrate things - and this person is so right cos I do - BIRTHDAYS - mainly mine and my family - this is normailly a 3 day event including bbq and shopping etc. This year I might extend it to 5 days due to age!!!!!!! CHRISTMAS - a 4 day event starting Christmas Eve, and lasting til the Day after Boxing Day The four saints of the UK - Patrick, DAvid, Andrew and GEORGE (either on the day or as soon as I remember thereafter!!!!) EASTER/SPRING HOLIDAYS - dont eat that much chocolate so have a drink!!!! ANY OTHER DAY I FEEL GOOD AND HAVE DONE SOMETHING GOOD - oh next week WEDNESDAY I shall not be about cos guess what (I knew there was something else to celebrate!!!!!!!!!)A GATHERING OF THE IRISH in ST ALBANS!!!! After a day fishing in the ocean a fisherman is walking from the pier carrying two lobsters in a bucket. He is approached by the Game Warden who asks him for his fishing license. Happy 4th of July to you all! First of all, I hope you all take some time to remember the real reason we celebrate this holiday. We live in an AWESOME country and someone fought hard to make it the country that it is today!! Never forget to appreciate the freedom that we have!!!!!!!!!!! I am currently on a camping trip again. Taking another much needed vacation from the big bad real world. If you all read my blogs, you know I have a lot going on health wise right now, so this trip is hopefully gonna give me some much needed laughs with my family, and take my mind off of things for a few days anyway. Now it seems that a friend’s request from an Indian Sikh has been lodged but he does not realise that he is already a friend on Slap and Tickle, well more an acquaintance whose paths crossed wires in Goa in November 2007. Volume Xlvi - One Year
One year. I cannot believe it was one year. Sunday (29 June) marked one year since my beloved Mamaw passed into another life, on 29 June 2007. I already have written a blog on her deterioration, passing, and my mourning, and as such, those details will not be repeated. This Sunday, after I left Tybee Island, I stopped at a grocery store in Pooler to purchase a couple bouquets of flowers. Then, onto Exit 132 off I-16, proceeding thence south. After about 3 miles, I turned left onto Ash Branch Church Cemetery. I set the bouquets on the graves of Mamaw and Pappy...and sat beside them for about an hour and a half. I sat there in silence. Communicating with them in my own way. Reflecting on how they're affected my life. Smiling.... .....then shedding a tear or two. It still does not seem like an entire year. Man being on the road is great but it is sure nice to get home. Spend the week with my kids since I had not seen them in 7 weeks. Bet your all wondering why that is well being an otr driver is hard on everybody even the boys miss there dad when he is gone. Baby Needs New Tires!!! Lol
Well I took My lil sport...I call it, in for the regular oil change. I asked them to do a tire rotation and check the brakes. I thought it was the brakes making this thunking noise whenever I stopped but I soon found out that the console on the truck was loose. So they tightened it up and no more thunk. Then to my surprise they come out and ask me to follow them. I thought "ahh shit, what is wrong now!" He says...all four of your tires need to be changed. I looked at him and said, the truck only has 24,000 miles on it..what is the hell are you talking about. Those tires should've lasted me at least another 16,000 before having to change them. I called Bill ...I told him what was said and he told me to basically challenge them...tell them there should be some kind of credit with Goodyear for those tires going before they should. Guess this is fun, lol okay here is some more stuff: 1. Though I had a guitar at age 11, I didn’t learn how to play until I was 24. My roommate taught me, he had played with the Country Gentlemen before they became famous, he was 17 and his dad wouldn’t let him go to Nashville. 2. Finding Me...
Its been a little over a month since my dad passed away, and I have had so much happen in my life. It wasn't enough that my dad was sick, and dying, but my husband also had to throw into the mix that he wasn't happy and wanted to just go our seperatate ways. So, that is where I am in my life. I am on the road to finding peace and happiness. The timing was by far good on my husbands part to be telling me all this, but deep down, I think I am ok with it. Adventures At The Er!
Friday morning. St. John's ER. Diagnioses- Bladder infection. Was given a shot of morphine and the pain was gone. (I had been in pain for 3 hours, constantly, prior to the shotworking.) Monday night/Tuesday morning. CMH ER. Diagnioses- gallstones. Was told I was given a shot of demerol. Was only in pain for about 2 hours this time. I had seen my PCP earlier that day and she was going to send me to have an ultrasound to check my gallbladder. The ER did it that night for me. Sent me home with Lortab. Wednesday night/Thursday morning. CMH ER. Diagnioses- I'm fucked. Did a CT scan of my abdomen and found no stones. A HIDA (I'm clueless) scan is ordered but no idea when it will be performed. I was given Demerol via IV. It hit me hard and fast. It scared me how quickly it worked. I had taken one Lortab prior to going to the hospital. I got sick 10-15 minutes after taking it. The pain came on so quick. I was in pain for god only knows how long because it took them forever to come in and

5 Week Checkup
Hi All, Just an update to let all my TRUE fu-friends know how I'm progressing. I went to see my dr. on Tuesday. She told me I am healing faster than expected, and I look very happy. (Which I am). I can wear some of my clothes, and that makes me even happier! She told me I will have swelling for a little while yet, and that I shouldn't get discouraged. Also, I havent had any back pain since the day I had the surgery, which is abig relief for me. I had chronic back pain, daily, for 8 years. So the past 5 weeks have been AWESOME for me. First Santa Barbara Yoga Class Today
I just got officially transfered to the Santa Barbara club. I moved here 3 weeks ago. The good news is that they need Yoga Instructors. The bad news is that Santa Barbara is the center of the universe for YOGA, so everyone has extremely high expectations. . .on top of that, this last Tuesday, whoever the instructor was supposed to be missed the class, and 40+ people were hard core PISSED OFF. So I showed up early, got organized and I had about 22 people - one brand new person, who did well, and the class went very well and everyone was pleased and I was well-received......WHEW!! I will be the regular teacher on Tuesdays and Thursdays now and I am writing a proposal for the country club for a M, W, F class, to begin next week. All the moms have seen me doing Yoga with their kids, prior to swim team practice, on the pool deck and they're chomping at the bit. . .

A Fishing Tragedy

Rip, Why Must My Friends All Die So Young?
This blog goes out to Jessica Nichols. This is a dedication to the young and beautiful girl who was robbed of the long and joyful life she would have lived for years to come. She never deserved what happened to her, and to think for one second that someone could hurt her like that is unimagineably scary. Weekly Update
I just returned from visiting my father at the hospital. He went through his second surgery on Tuesday, where they once again removed his replacement knee, sterilized, irrigated and put it back in. He DID have a bit of a heart issue near the end of the surgery, but the Drs. assured us that they were able to stabilize everything before sending him to recovery. Seeing him today made me feel better because he actually ate something and they used a lift to get him out of bed and had him sitting in a chair for quite a while. The major concern still remains the blood poison, which sent him there in the first place. There are still issues with his kidneys and sugar levels, but at 80, the Drs. told us this was to be expected. I videoed portions of my son's baseball game from last night, put it on DVD and played it for him today. It seemed to lift his spirits tremendously. As you probably don't know, out of 5 grandchildren, my son is the only boy and carries his name. To not tu

Moving On With Life!
Things hasnt been easy for me to deal with this week after just miscarrying on Monday morning after Mission Hospital released me the night before and them knowing what was going on. But they are going to pay in many ways. I plan to file a medical malpractice lawsuit against Mission and will somehow win my case for their neglegence. But on another note, MAtt and I are doing well together and are engaged now.Its like I have found the one for so long been searching for, but only time trully can tell the future. Today I plan to just enjoy my day and spoil myself a little after the pain I have gone through. Trying to get my mind off of things is the best for me instead of keep on thinking about it. So we are going to be busy with some planning and stuff!

So You Think You Can Dance. Week 4
I know none of you watch this show but I'm blogging it anyway. So last night each of the remaining 7 couples had to do two routines. There weren't any particular bad routines so I think we are down to mostly good dancers. There are two males that should go soon (Matt and Thayne) and it's probably getting close to time for Comfort to head home too. Anyway, once again the best routines were the two Mia Michaels one. The first one she choreographed with Katee and Joshua was amazing. Katee danced the best that she has so far on the show and the routine was just amazing. Just when I thought it wouldn't get any better though Twitch and Kherington did a Mia routine that was incredible.
