Mowing And Electric Fences
We have the standard 6 ft. fence in the backyard, and a few months ago, I heard about burglaries increasing dramatically in the entire city. To make sure this never happened to me, I got an electric fence and ran a single wire along the top of the fence.Actually, I got the biggest cattle charger Tractor Supply had, made for 26 miles of fence. I then used an 8 ft. long ground rod, and drove it 7.5 feet into the ground. The ground rod is the key, with the more you have in the ground, the better the fence works..One day I'm mowing the back yard with my cheapo Wal-Mart 6 hp big wheel push mower. The hot wire is broken and laying out in the yard. I knew for a fact that I unplugged the charger. hey yall.. Glenn here. it's been a while since I've written some of my own thoughts and muses in my blog. I guess you could say that I've had a plethora of events occur that definitely fueled the fire for me to return and write more. here recently, I checked into a recovery house, because I've not been able to keep my emotions in an even keel and I've become addicted to alcohol. so for the past week, I've been going to A.A meetings and detox-ing myself. Today, I was also told during a psychological assessment, that I have bi-polar disorder..I very rarely cry, but today, I wept like a baby-- Now I finally know why I've not been able to keep a relationship. NOW I know why I always had problems keeping jobs when I was younger. but Still..it isnt easy. I still think something is fucked up inside me. But I really could use all of my friends right now.

I'm relaxing in a hotel several hundred miles out of Sturgis after a great day of riding. We would have ridden a ways longer but we rode straight into a T-storm and had to take cover at a hotel to wait it out. Earlier today I found a deli in the middle of nowhere that has gluten free sandwiches on their menu and for the first time in years, enjoyed a sandwich with my husband. We ate in a park and struck up a conversation with an elderly couple RV-ing it into their 80's. Lunch took an hour longer than it usually does but it was well worth it for the great chat. What a nice couple! I have the most ridiculous farmer's tan! Riding in short sleeves makes for lovely, natural body art.

My vacation is over. We pulled into the garage a few hours ago. The trip home from my daughter's was windy and by noon, HOT, but not bad. I guess since it was some of the most familiar traveling we've done in the past 3 weeks I felt a little more at home. We rode south on I-5 to Santa Nella then headed west to San Juan Bautista, where we headed south again. We had to stop at a Harley dealer to leave some literature and pick up some fliers but other than that, gas stops only..with one stop to eat and get some coffee. I'll go to de-caf tomorrow but today I needed a kick. My bike is dirty. My body is tired. Our dogs are so glad we're home. I had 2 new chicks with the broody hen. Two of the eggs she was sitting on were liquid (putrid), one was missing, and one is solid but very quiet. I'm not sure if the chick is still alive or not. I'll know by tomorrow.
