Rip Ean
Bassist Donald "Ean" Evans of the Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd has died after a battle with cancer. Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant said Evans died Wednesday at his home in eastern Mississippi. He was 48. In a statement posted on lynyrdskynyrd.com the band said, "It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of longtime Lynyrd Skynyrd bassist Ean Evans. Ean put up a valiant battle with an aggressive form of cancer and he will be sorely missed by family, friends and fans." Evans was born in Atlanta, but moved to Columbus after marrying his wife, Eva. He joined Lynyrd Skynyrd in 2001 and had been touring regularly with the band until being diagnosed with cancer in 2008, when he cut back on performances with the band. Wellington And Rain
I have loved being here in Wellington though it rained nonstop for days on end which meant I stayed in my room until show time. Med Update -good News Sort Of
The last doctor I saw late friday checked my throat and mouth areas with a snoope probe and found no evidence that skin cancer on my neck acturally spread from those areas - my throat and mouth areas and nose are in healthy condition he reported. So it looks like the doc I am supposed to trust made the wrong speculations. But they still want to conduct a pet scan to confirm what we already know. When I mentioned to the doc about treating skin cancer by freezing the cells dead the got really mad and said that "this is my business and we know what is best for you"' He wants to set up appointment for me to get briefed on radiation treatments that they feel is the best way to go. Which is the only way they can go because the primary group I am involved with does not conduct any alternatives other then the one they claim is the best one.

I am not really great at parties but last night was lovely – it was the end of the New Zealand Comedy festival and I was exhausted. One comic got so bladdered he had to be physically carried to his hotel room, I twisted my ankle dancing, and that’s how hard core I am! I was fine; I didn’t need escorted home with a cold compress. So, I went back to school last semester to get my degree, finally. I always said I'd go back after my children were both in school all day long. Now that they are, I'm back in classes. I just went back today for my second semester. Prior to this year, it's been seven years since I've been in classes. I had originally gone back to get my journalism degree, what I started out in several years ago. But over the course of the last semester, I decided to change my major to education. I was finally able to change it this semester. My focus was going to be in journalism, but they do not offer it at the college I am attending. We're only a four-year school with some University affiliation. So, I went to my first love, theatre. This is something I'm very excited for.
