Been crossing my fingers ...i applied to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Praying I get hired at one of the 3 prisons I applied for. almost 20,000 more a year than what I make now and I could really use it. Things are way to tight around here.

Some of you know that I've been promoted at work. Which means I actually took advantage of an opportunity. An opportunity that has presented itself time and again over the past eight years. It's to edit and lead the North Central News, a weekly newspaper that is published within our same company that produces the paper I have served for nine years – the Northeast Herald. All here in the Alamo City area. Save for the welcome pay increase and slightly altered schedule. And the idea that I no longer must attend so many government meetings week after week after week. So many times I read about when men or women are arrested and convicted of abuse related crimes, whether it be child abuse, spousal abuse, rape, as well as serial killing. Today I had the finacial appt trying to get on the grant for the counseling, they couldnt set me up with another appt till Aug 11, but she told me to try to come in and be a walk in at 7:30 in the morning to see if I can be seen before that. Next Friday will be my cook night for the 1st time, so I plan on doing something easy the 1st night then after that attempting to do harder things, its just I have never in my life cooked for 12 people. My caseworker will be back next week, she has been on vacation since before I moved in, and I hear out of the two, she is the one that will keep me on my toes more. I have a list of goals made up to work on, along with strategies to get them done. This is a homemade version of Ben & Jerry's classic orange cream ice cream. Yields 1 generous quart 1/3 cup Orange Juice concentrate, thawed 2 tsp vanilla 2 cup heavy or whipping cream 3/4 cup sugar 2/3 cup half & half 1. Pour the cream into a mixing bowl. Whisk in the sugar, a little at a time, then continue wisking until completely blended, about 1 minute more. Pour the half & half and whisk to blend. Today was a nice day outside so I went out there with my daughter. Peeled an orange threw them in the yard. Made sure Nichole picked some up and I did as well. Then there were flying peels all over the yard. Hitting each other with the peels on the head or on our belly it didn't matter long as it hit.
