It seems like the number of events are growing every year, bars and restaurants that used to shun bikers are now having poker runs every weekend. **jamestown's 400th Anniversary** Videos Inside!
On Sunday, May 13, 2007, a choral group made up of 1,607 members and an orchestra made up of 400 members from all over the United States joined together to perform for the 400th Anniversary of Jamestown. This group of people, who ranged in age from 6 to 93 years old, performed for the President of the United States as well as other high ranking officials such as Sandra Day O'Connor. My son's choral group from West Allegheny was in attendance and sang their hearts out! Andrew and his fellow members were in the section right in front of the video screen in the following videos. I am so grateful to the person who videotaped the concert and uploaded it to youtube! I was not able to travel with the chorus, so these videos are so precious to me! I hope you enjoy them! Heart Problems
In life we take breathing for granted. I don't! The simple reason being is that as most of you know I have a mechanical aorta valve! When I was young I thought I was normal I played around like any kid would. When I was older I started having problems. Being that I was born with the problem I thought it was normal! I couldn't breathe right and I had severe chest pains every so often (but not enough to make me wonder if something was wrong). It realy hit me one day when I was working for a meat company. Dad Update #3
I talked to dad tonight; and he seemed to be really tired. He had just gotten in from walking when I had called. I called him because my 2 babies (ages 5 &6- they will always be my babies..*smiles) were asking about their papaw cause we were looking at pictures of him; as we have done most nights since he left. And my daughter Hannah looked up at me with a most sad and somber look and said, "I sure wish my pappy could come home because I miss him so much and I want to hear him sing to me." So, being the mom I am, I called so they could talk to him before their bed time. I could hear in his voice how tired he was; but he still made the effort for them. For 3 years now, I have lived in misery. Misery from the lose of my 3 1/2 y/o son who died of cancer. Sometimes it is really hard to even get up in the mornings, knowing that he isn't here to say good morning or I love you. I have to keep telling myself, that one day, I will be with him, it's just taking time. I have tried to have another child, but I guess the "thing" just isn't there with me anymore. Now don't get me wrong, I love to have sex with my husband, but the urge to have another child is gone. Myspace
I have had a myspace profile for quite some time. About 40% of the users there are commercial spammers. Some are easy to detect, others are more sneaky. Some will actually try and phish your password and then spam all your friends with your account. People post huge files to you profile which makes it take forever to load even with broadband. Some member profiles actually crash my computer and/or my router. Here is the rant part. Yesterday I tried to send a bulletin to all my friends to tell them about cherrytap and the message got blocked by myspace and I got sent a warning message about my account. CherryTap is pretty cool but I'm still getting used to how the message system works. Some of the things I'm having problems with is finding the messages that I have according to the pop-up at the top. While it's going haywire, I can't seem to find what the messages say all the time. Or I go into the Inbox and nothing's there. I thought it might have been my browser (Firefox 2.0.0.4), but it seems to depend on the day. Also, I haven't found a way to make CherryBucks since my computer is currently outside the US. I can fake it with Tor or Anonymizer, but is there any non-US specific routes I can do for them? I Made It Through
My surgery went well today. It didn't start until after 1 and was through before 3. I had my sinuses fixed and a deviated septum repaired. I am not in major pain due to very good pain killers. My throat is much more sore than anything from where they intubate you while you are asleep. Thank you all for the get well cards, bowls of Chicken soup and well wishes. I have been in and out of sleepiness with the pain killers and just now took a minute to come back to my addicton. Have a great weekend. I apreciate all of you.

There's not a problem in America today, crime, drugs, education, divorce, delinquency that wouldn't be remedied, if we just had more Dirt Roads, because Dirt Roads give character. People that live at the end of Dirt Roads learn early on that life is a bumpy ride. I want do be able to do what I want and not worry about how its going to hold me back in life. People who have piercings have to be clean, you have to know how to take care of them, and it isnt easy. A Soldier's Life
It was just another day in the morning of a soldier's life. We were up and doing by 05:30 and showered and shaved and in line at the mess hall. Then it was time to start another day here in the desert. Far from home in the land of Iraq. By 08:00 we were in formation and ready to move out. The Date Is Set
My surgery date is now set. So between now and sept 5th I get to wait....and get nervous. Having been an LPN I know what could go wrong. I also know that I have one of the best neurosurgeons in the city. So getting nervous will be a waste of time. Tell that to my brain!!! But it is a relief to finally have a date so I can plan my life again. Now I have to survive all the friends who will offer and stop by to help. I have a nurses mentality. I was having a "discussion" with someone about single parenting.. Now I am a single parent. My son is 13.. I raised him on my own with no help from his father. I worked full time.. 2 jobs at one point.. even had one job where I was able to take him with me to work.. came home, cleaned, fed him.. etc.. Now, this person I was discussing things with, seemed to think that single parents dont have it near as hard as they say. With child support they are "living the life" so they think. I was like HELLO!!! I am court ordered to recieve 157 dollars a month in child support. I might see 50 of it.. if I am lucky. Enforcing that order gets me the "you should be happy with that, its not what he owes or what he's supposed to pay, or even on time, but at least you get it". The Future
I grew up in the one of the worst housing projects in Newark , NJ. Through proper upbringing and some luck i made it out and to college. The day to day life in that setting can be depressing, disappointing, and desperate. Through desperation some our lead down the wrong path, and once you head that way no one wants to help you get on track. They just let you know how much you suck ,and how short your life will probably be and how much of a loser you are. The problem here is our youth start to believe this nonsense. Once they believe their lives are worth nothing, they have no respect for human life or decency what so ever. For years i preach amount making your life count. I sit here at my computer in my room wondering about what has happened what is happening and what will happen. I think about every choice I've made; was it worth it, was it wrong!? Fun Day
Today was interesting. I mowed grass for the first time in forever. I uncovered a wicked looking lizard. It was quite large and spotted. I can't say I've ever seen this particular species. But by the time I could get Lis over to see it he disappeared. While I was mowing I stopped to rip out some bushes or trees or something that had started growing up around where the A/C compressor. When we first moved in someone had weed whacked the wire from the house to the compressor and as a result we didn't have a/c for the first day or two. So as to avoid this mistake i ripped out whatever they had been trying to cut back. Well the funny thing is the leaves on the plant were very similar to a certain plant that north Texas authorities have been collecting a bunch of lately. You know the one I'm talking about. It has 5 leaves and is on everything from wallets to baseball caps. But after carefully inspecting it I realized the leaves were too broad to be everybody's favorite tobacco substitute ;).

Tator Tots
Just need to vent here a bit. I got one of the most ridiculous calls of my life yesterday! A gentleman called and identified himself as one of the vice principals at my 14-year old son's school. I immediately asked what was wrong. He said that it wasn't urgent enough for me to come in, but that the police officer had already had a talk with Ireke. WHAT! What did he do???? Well, apparently, during lunch, his buddy next to him got up and while he was out of his seat, my son ate his tater tots. If you then hit Map you will get a map to the person's house. Everyone should be aware of this! It's a nationwide reverse telephone book. If a child gives out his/her phone number, someone can now look it up to find out where he/she lives. The safety issues are obvious, and alarming!!! Note that you can have your phone number removed or blocked. I tried my number and it came up along with the mapquest and directions straight to our house. LOL... New Uniforms...
I have been in the navy for over 17yrs..and most of it, i wouldnt change at all with the time that i have done. our uniforms have always been distinctive if not a bit of fodder for gay jokes, but you could always tell a sailor in his uniform. there has been serious discussion over the last 2+ yrs or so about uniform changes. Quick Update
The house is finally clean...all this time it took me and if I had just gotten to it I could have been done hours ago...I'm such a procrastinator. Hi all I am sorry that I haven't been around more.... been very busy this year with kid's schedules and all. I have finally gotten a little break, as this week is Fall Break....... after today they are out til next Monday. I have had to work on my car with hubby, when he was on vacation! Off To France
I will be away from Fubar for the next seven days. I will be spending the time on holiday with the family. We are staying in the South of France as we did in October last year. Prayers Requested Please.....
Hi, to those that know me... I have a beautiful dachshund named Laci. She is in my default pic with me. Well Wednesday night, we were playing ball like we always do, and she just dropped and started screaming. I ran to her and found that she had no control of her back legs. I ran her to an emergency vet and got her some pain medication. The reason she went to an emergency vet is because I was in Cleveland taking care of my mom because she just had surgery. After the emergency vet administered pain medication, I drove home 2 1/2 hours at 9pm Wednesday night. All night she just laid there in the basket I made for her and whined. I am so heartbroken. Thursday morning I took her to her regular vet and she was diagnosed with a herniated disk in her back. Chances are, she will be paralyzed. She may not be able to walk on her back legs again. The doctor will be keeping her for a few days giving her steroid treatments, in hopes that they will get the swelling down and hopefully she will recove
