A little of both. Not me, you. The one reading this. And everyone else for that matter. It has occured to me that the human concept of sanity is flawed. And I have now realized that humans are all insane. It's just that some control it better than others. Oh, I know, you are thinking of all those folks locked up in the mental ward. Those people are mentally ill. There is a difference. Usually mentally ill folks are a danger to themselves and others, hence the need to lock them up and medicate them. Insane people, on the other hand, roam freely around the world. Every single human being alive, whether they want to admit it or not, has strange thoughts coursing through their mind. They wonder where these thoughts come from. Some act on these thoughts, others do not. It is the ones who do not act on these thoughts that are deemed sane. They are still having the thoughts though. Something to think about. The ones who act on those thoughts are usually called criminals. They've been told all their life that these thoughts are wrong and to act on them is also wrong. But they do it anyway, and when asked why, they usually say "I don't know what I was thinking". That's insane. Any crime you can think of, premeditated or otherwise, is predicated by a thought. And that thought is then followed by action. Action does not happen by itself. Action takes place when the human having the thought acts on it. They don't have to, they choose to. And so you see, sanity is all about choice.
