The First Ten Days!!
Hello everyone, Well I'm here and pretty much settled in. Everything is great so far ... the cast is nice and most everyone on the ship is very friendly. The Holiday is Carnivals smallest and oldest ship, but it also has a reputation for being a very relaxed and friendly ship. Good trade off I think. The cast is supposed to have 8 female dancers, 4 male dancers, and two singers. As of right now we have 7 female dancers (one girl quit already), 2 male dancers (one just passed his medical, and the other one failed), and no singers. ARGGGGHHHH!!! Oh well they will have a ton of work to do when they get here. So the cast is quite diverse ... 3 Americans, 2 Brits, 3 Australians, 1 Canadian, and 1 South African ... I don't know about the ones that aren't here yet. Well we have been working very hard, but we still manage to find time for a drink or two. We are also required to watch every single one of the shows that the current cast performs. Now that we know one of the sho

Funniest Event Ever In 29 Years...
So imagine an automatic sliding door...and like most places there's two of them...with a space in between that you can wait...that has local newspapers or if it were a grocery place a spot to leave carts... Three of us are together (one pushing me) with a fourth walking ahead of us...at the second door there's a small girl, drunk, talking on a cell phone leaning up against the door... Forth makes the door open, and small girl gets launched through the air, the newspaper stands and ends up against the wall on her back...three of us are in shock at what we've seen, and I get out "are you..." and then I burst into laughter and the rest of the group loses it and the girl gets up and runs off... It was the funniest thing I've ever seen in almost 29 years...I just wish we had video...

A Sweet Vacation
Well where to start?? well Febuary 28th i loaded up my harley & left for Daytona Beach FL. We got there fri about 3 p.m. unloaded the bikes & started our adventure around Daytona Bike week. we rode all around Bike week that weekend. Then left monday & went to eat @ Hard rock Cafe in Orlando. left there & made it to Port St. Lucie. Stayed the night there & then left then following morning to venture to KEY WEST. we made it to Key west & stayed the night there then rode around Key west & stopped to eat @ Hog’s breath saloon. then on way back we stayed the night in Ft. Lauderdale. came back to Port ST. Lucie & stayed 2 nights on that fri night we went to the Moroso drag strip. then rode back to Daytona & stayed a few more nights to catch the tail end of BIKE WEEK. it was a blast i got me sum sun & a great start of a tan. i needed a good vacation & now i am still not wantin to go back to work

Fried Apple Pies
2 cups dried apples 2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted or stirred before measuring 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking powder 3 tablespoons butter 1 egg, beaten 1/2 cup milk 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 tablespoon sugar oil for deep frying PREPARATION: Cover dried apples with water; simmer, covered, for 30 to 40 minutes. Drain and let cool. Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder; cut in butter. Add eggs and milk; mix to form a soft dough. Roll dough out thin and cut into 4 circles about 5 inches in diameter. Combine nutmeg, cinnamon, and sugar. Place 1/2 cup dried apples in the center of each circle, sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of the sugar mixture, then fold over. Wet edges with a little milk and seal with a fork. Fry at about 370° in deep fryer until golden brown. Drain well. Serve with cream or ice cream. Makes 4 fried apple pies.

OK- The police were able to id the thieves from the surveillance videos at the stores where the idiots used my son's ATM card. They said that us reporting it was what broke the case. It seems they had never gotten an ATM card before and most people hadn't bothered reporting the small thefts thinking there was nothing they could do about it. There were 3 of them. Two brothers and a friend. At least 2 had prior records. When they went to arrest them they found all kinds of stuff. I-pods and phones and stereos etc. They even tried to run and one of them was tazed. OMG I wish I could have seen that. Apparently all 3 are in jail right now. My son is even getting his phone back as soon as they get the paperwork all done proving it is his. My Health
Most of you know that I've been REALLY worn down and tired lately. Going to bed at 9:30 every night and just NO ENERGY! I went to the Dr. today and they're thinking it's my thyroid. Random highlights of my new life: Every morning I pray my daughter will let me nap...never happens. I planned to do at least a half hour of Wii Fit everyday...Yeah, the balance board makes me feel bad about myself so I haven't gotten on it in 3 days. I had tried tanning so I could get some color and it would help my vitamin D level go up, I couldn't sit still long enough to get much color at all. I went to a baseball game just to get out of the house last night. I abhor baseball. I just went for over priced beer and nachos. The company wasn't too bad either. Although I'm quite sure we sat in front of the boys from The Big Bang Theory and they were rather entertaining. I hate animated pigs. "I like to move it, move it" has become the new anthem for everything done around here...clean up time, we sing it...shower time, we sing it... I'm gonna start making lanyards.

Long Day...
Been a long day at work today. Hate waking up at 4 am.. a hour earlier than i should get up. Was a good day..considering it was tuesday. We usually get slammed with admits. Was a bad day though..due toa patient passing away. I feel so bad for his family..especially his wife. To be married that long..and still in love.. has to be rough on her. I am so glad that I do not have to deal with that , as in taking care of the patient..and that happening.. dealing with the family and all. I do to some extent but not as much as the nurse had to. I am so lost for words over death. Never been one able to handle it to well.

Just Another Thing To Think About
Special education and public funds. yes I know it's a dry subject, but it's just another thing i have to think about now. What to do when you know that your child is not getting all of his needs met in his current schooling enviornment? The push to "mainstream" all special education students 80% of the time is a blanket goal which doesn't work. All children learn a bit differently, now add any type of Learning disability or special need, it compounds the issue. Please explain to me how a school or institution can label a child learning disabled but not tell the most effective way to teach the child. Then decide that it's still good to mainstream them as long as they get extra help. GREAT! now what about his social development, where are the helpers for that? who's helping him navigate the halls? To be used is never fun, but it happens wether you like it or not. Some times you are the person that is useing someone, maybe with out even relizing it. Most people go out looking for someone to use. They go in knowing what they want and once they get it there done and your left there in the cold.
