So Urdu is apparently as dependant on English vocabulary as Mexican Spanglish. I found this rather amusing. Especially since Pakistanis write English phoenetically, with a Pakistani accent. Why do my wrists burn with the urge to cut? I have cut many times in the past but I have never had the urge to cut my wrists. My thighs are usually what burn and then receive the brutal torture of being carved upon. It is a comfort to me to cut. It is like it takes all of my problems away. I feel like I have been cleansed. As weird to some as it may sound it is the way that I feel. The feeling of being cleansed is usually only temporary but it is effective. Should I face the fate that most say is inevitable? Several of you got a mass message - but for those who did not: Around 1am ET, I learned my grandpa Mitch Herald had been taken to a local hospital. We thought he'd had a stroke, and so my parents went to the hospital. They just returned at 3:50am, and it's not looking good - he didn't have a stroke but there's a massive hemorrhage, and they don't think he's going to make it. He's currently on life support but the decision could be made at any time to take him off of it. :( He could literally be gone between now and Monday. Why is it that once somethin shitty happens at work, then everythin just kinda goes to hell? At 3am I had to checkin a shemale with a case of NASSTY attitude that tried to mess with a room rate, then complained that I was checkin her in too slow (I had to reinstate her fuckin reservation because her fat 400lb ass came in after I closed everythin out), and stormed out, sayin that she will never come to our hotel again. I said "no skin off my back", and that REALLY pissed her off for some reason. Oh, well. Then in the morning once I was just about to leave, we get a call from one of the rooms screaming to call 911. Apparently, someone was having a cancer related heart attack. So half hour later I am standing in the lobby, comforting his wife and trying to act as unevil as I can. Which turned into an hour long conversation about his bladder cancer :( Oh, well, at least no one died in there yet, thats comforting.

For the last week or two I've been stripping wallpaper. I hate wallpaper. Not only is it hard to put up/match the lines, but it's even more difficult to remove. The wallpaper I'm attacking is original to the house. It's 7 years old, and outdated in my mind. Pastel floral prints and blue with baskets of apples isn't my taste. Personally, I'd be a giggling fool if the world of wallpaper crashed. To make my dislike of wallpaper even deeper, one of the rooms has TWO layers of the crap. Instead of going about how I have been with the other rooms, I have to ensure that the second layer of vinyl is removed before wetting down the backing. Even further madening, is that none of the walls were primered. Yep, they put up the drywall and slapped on wallpaper. There are 5 rooms and two hallways to remove wallpaper from, primer, and then paint. I'll be lucky if the project is completed by the end of the year. BTW, if you're a wallpaper person, I hate you.

I went to go see Urinetown in LA Friday night and LOVED it. It is a comical musical that has bits and pieces in it that makes fun of other musicals. So, my good friend USArmy~J has left for the Army. I dropped him off at the recuiters office in at 6 p.m. today (Tue 4/10). Tonight he is going to Syracuse to spent the night at the hotel tonight. On Wed he goes to the MEPS center were they will put him through a physical fitness test and weigh him in. If he passes then he gets on the plane to Ft. Benning GA. His basic runs 9 weeks then he goes straight to tech school for about 5 weeks, then he will most likely get 2 weeks leave before he gets shipped to language school. Nornally basic is 6 weeks followed by a short leave, but USArmy~J is in Special Forces; so his trainning is a little different. In fact he will be in trainning for up to 2 years. I couldn't be happier about that. I pray every night that this "war" in Iraq is over by then. I'm so proud of him (we all are); but I am also terrified. I know that he will be stateside for quite some time, and that he will be okay; but no matter how much I tell myself that

It's Wed 4/11 and I have received some text messages from USArmy~J. His plane took of from SU at 2:30 p.m. Around 6 p.m. I got another text. USArmy~J was stuck at Dullus Airport in D.C. because of the bad weather. Finally at 10 p.m. he arrived in Atlanta, GA. That was the last I heard. From here on out, it's snail mail only. I believe he has a short flight to Columbus, GA where Ft. Benning is. It's about a 2 hour drive by car, so I don't imagine the flight will be that long. As always, I will keep you updated the best I can; and if you have any messages let me know and I will pass them along.

Got a letter from USArmy~J today. He is doing fine. As of 4/13 he hasn't started basic yet. They typically have a couple of days to get used to thier surroundings and to give the company a bumper in case one or more of the recuits gets stuck enroute by bad weather or such. It's pretty good idea seeing USArmy~J got stranded in DC for a few hours. He has met a few men is his unit and is starting to form bonds with them. A couple of them are driving him crazy. He is starting as an E4 which is a Specialist. Most newbies start at E1, Private First CLass. Some (mostly Eagle Scouts) start at E2 Private Second Class. So USArmy~J outranks all of them, but an E2 seems to think that he is running the show. Boy is he in for a surprise. But most of the guys are cool. When the factories close and the people are canned, then the Feds buy the factories and re-tool them to build wind turbines and solar panels.
