SALT LAKE CITY -- The Utah Jazz have called a Tuesday morning news conference to announce a front-office change. Yahoo! Sports reported on Monday that longtime general manager Kevin OConnor is being promoted in his executive role and being replaced in day-to-day duties by San Antonio Spurs assistant GM Dennis Lindsey. OConnor is a New York native who has led Jazz basketball operations since 1999. He orchestrated the 2011 trade that sent star point guard Deron Williams to the Nets rather than deal with his impending free agency. Lindsey joined the Spurs in 2007. OConnor and Lindsey did not return calls by The Associated Press. The Jazz have been to the post-season nine times while OConnor was in charge. They were swept out of the playoffs by the Spurs in the first round this year. Cheap Jerseys China . The Mets made the moves before Monday nights game at Pittsburgh.
