C25k For The Treadmill
For those of you who don't know about the C25K program, it is basically a way to get you off the couch and running. C25K = Couch to 5k This is done slowly and you may or may not have to repeat any of the weeks 1-9 to complete it. I'm doing the treadmill version until I've completed it and can go for an actual run outside. The idea is you start off with a 5 minute brisk walk, then jog for 1 minute, brisk walk for 1 1/2 minutes. You repeat this pattern for 20 minutes then cool down for 5. Do this 3 times a week. If you're able to move on to Week 2, then the time increases for each until you've completed the program which would be a full 20-30 minutes of running. I do not interact with Facebook, Twitter or any of the other social networking platforms. My reasoning is simple. Why in the world would I want to share my private thoughts and feelings with the world at large? What good could possibly come from me having a convenient outlet to express myself to millions of people? The more likely outcome is that in a misguided attempt to be funny or cute, I'd say something stupid and wind up getting publicly raked over the proverbial coals. Which is why I think the wiser path is to keep my opinions to myself. For example, if I were to feel moral outrage over an organization riddled with pedophiles expressing their moral outrage over cleavage, I certainly wouldn't tweet about it. Woke up this morning with the pleasant surprise of another pound gone. That's 4 towards my monthly goal of 10 from now to the end of October. I even hit the treadmill....a first EVER to do in the morning. This got me to thinking today...if I spent as much time towards ME getting healthier than I do online on Fu, I would be much further along than I am. Not that I'm complaining about 53 pounds gone, but I could be further along if I'd been determined enough. With that being said, I won't be on Fu as much as I have been. Through gods gift and lots of prayers I was given the title of mom almost 9 years ago. At an early age, I found out I wasnt able to have children. My hopes and dreams of being called mommy were shattered. My dreams of walking hand and hand with my little one, teaching a child everything I know, attending PTA meetings, laughing with, crying with and growing older with my child was gone. Until one day, I decided I was going to be a mom. Through the adoption process, I became a mom almost 9 years ago. I was given my gift of a beautiful daughter the day she was born. Through a long and dragged out process, I picked her up brand new at the hospital. This was the most wonderful and memorable day of my life. I was now a mommy !! Well Boys and Girls, I ain't in the best of moods. For the last month or so, I've experienced another bout of gastric trouble. Having Surgery Next Week
I keep posting this and for some reason it keeps posting in the Fu Marriage thing. I will be off fu for about a week or so. Most of you know that I was injured during my military service. I was expecting to do the surgery in the middle of June but I caught a break and will actually have an opportunity to do it next week. I check in Tuesday night. Wednesdays surgery consists of removing scar tissue in my spine, removing bones spurs on the third and fourth vertebrate if my spine as well. They will monitor me and redo a MRI on Thursday and on Friday they will be injecting a filler to replace or fill the spot where the tissue between the bones is supposed to be to( it was crushed during military service). I will be recovering from Friday to Monday at the VA hospital and so I will not be on Fubar but will be back as soon as possible. Please keep me in your prayers and wish me a safe surgery and quick recovery.

So, in order to slim down to a respectable size, I've decided to give the P90X workout a try. I've tried the "gym" thing, and the "diet" attempt in the past, but have never really gotten anywhere. Today was a beautiful day...and for once in a long time..I finally got on call from work. On call means..that I was scheduled to work but we were low in patients so i got put on call..and would get called in if we got slammed with admits. Lately that seems to happen alot anymore. Anyways..I decided to go to my parents. We hung out..then they wanted to do there mulch. Dad did just one side of the house, and was getting hot and tired. He did a little of the back side and was the same way. It made me realize that hes getting older and cant do it like he use to. Was sad seeing him this way. My parents are the type who go go go. They still work full time then come home and do work. Anyways I ended up taking over the scooping of mulch and putting it around stuff while he drove me through the yard to the places that needed mulched. I just woke up from an interesting dream. I was having a pleasant dream (in my dream) about a love interest when I felt a hand on my arm. I followed that hand down the arm to a plush body, trying to shake myself awake (still in my dream). There was a porcelain doll I once had as a little girl in bed with me. 51 Pounds Gone!
I have always been of the mindset that I would lose weight when I felt like it. I'm not sure what happened on 10/30/11, but that night I "felt like it". I was tired of being tired, always looking forward to the weekend only to end up sitting on my ass doing nothing. It was like something just snapped in my mind. I made a decision to start doing something about my weight starting 10/31/11. And I have stuck to it. I joined Myfitnesspal.com. For those who don't know what this website is or does, it calculates the calories you should be eating in a day based on the information you provide (e.g. age, current weight etc). It will tell you how many calories you should eat were you to be in a coma. You pick how many pounds you want to lose in a week (2 max), and it provides you with the calories to eat daily with a deficit. You log everything that goes into your mouth and try to eat/drink as close to the calories they provide you as possible. By this method alone, I've lost 51 pounds. THE HEA
