My Nyc Christmas Letter To Friends
Many of you saw the pics of Bryan and I at the Bronx Zoo last night, and in NYC at Rockefeller Center, as well as my email of all the beautiful Christmas window displays. I just got back from shopping. It wasn't too busy yet. I got everyone done! Yippeee. I still have one more store to get my son one more thing but all the hard people are out of the way! I love having a new shopping center in my city. It is so nice and has a good selection of stores. Easy to just run over there and pick up something. My soon to be step-daughter had a very rough day today and it is goin to be hard for her for awhile. We had taken her to the doctors this morning because she had been havin headaches lately. They took a blood sugar count and a urine count too. Her urine had glucose in it and her sugar level was high. So they told us to go down to the nearest Childrens Hospital. They were waiting for us to get there. They took another sugar level count and even after over two hours her level was at 430 which is very high. She has to stay in the hospital for the next few days I came home long enough to take our pet out then I am heading back up there. They told us she will have to have 4 shots a day of insulin for the rest of her life. She is only 10yrs old. I don't mind rearranging how we prepare food but it has been very hard on her. I can now laugh at this so I thought why not share. About a week ago, my fiance' and I were lying in bed asleep. Pregnancy Stress
So 5 months 2 days, it's going to be a boy, or so they say. My Sister, My Hero!
When I was growing up I had a dream. to get married to someone I REALLY loved and have kis and watch them grow up with my arms around my wife and a feeling of love that would make the Leave It To Beaver's think they were dysfunctional. Puppies
Today I brought home 3 4-week old puppies with the intention of keeping 1 and fostering 2. Why am I doing this???? Because of heartless, careless and irresponsible piece of shit dog owners. On Sunday night the private no kill animal shelter I volunteer at picked up 17 puppies from an animal control shelter, that kills the animals that are in need, in another county so save thier lives. 8 were 3 1/2 weeks, 2 were 7 weeks and 7 were 7 DAYS old. Here is my biggest grip. The 7 day old pups were born outside because the mom wasn't kept inside. Animal control found them and took them to the shelter. The owners of the mother came to claim her. When they asked if either they would take the puppies or leave the mom for weaning and they said no. When animal control told them that all the pups would be destroyed if they didn't do that they said they didn't care and took the mom home. Drug Tests
Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. The article I just blogged about Saturday morning's aircraft crash in Huntsville, TX hits close to home. My Uncle David (my father's brother) was the patient being transferred to Houston for emergency surgery. He was taken to the hospital in Huntsville this weekend and it was later found he was having an annurism (sp? sorry im not of the mindset to look up the correct spelling). Around approx 245 Saturday morning the decision was made to life flight him to Houston as the only means of trying to save his life. An hour or so flight turned out to be torturous 6.5 hour ordeal for our family when word never came in the early morning hours that he had arrived in Houston at the hospital. We were not sent word that approximately 20 mins after the flight left Huntsville hospital that they had lost radio contact with the aircraft, until the family received word around 9am Saturday morning that the aircraft had gone down and they were dropping rescue workers in the area to "hike" in to "fi
