Don't put me on that pedestal It's much to high for me, It hurts when I hit bottom When the truth is what you see. And that halo you think I wear Slipped of my head last night, It nearly choked me half to death When I was blinded by the light. Don't think that I am perfect For I've many faults you see, Don't think that I'm an angel When I'm really only me. I sometimes stand in mud And have clay upon my feet, The path I trod is rocky Without valor I retreat. I'm not so prim or proper Nor am I a lady sweet, I only dance gracefully When I stand upon your feet. It's hard to walk with grace When your foot is in your mouth, For I often behave just like A northbound horse facing south. And sometimes I cry to loud Or laugh when I should not, And sometimes the important stuff Is stuff that I forgot. It is Very Important that your partner feel that he/she is wanted & needed & desireable to you. 6. EXPRESSION: Always express how you feel to your partner regardless of your partner's reaction. Whatever the reaction of how you express yourself to your partner, you may just take it from there & work on them Together. 7. FEELINGS: Always Open up your feelings to your partner. Let your partner know how you feel & how he/she makes you feel. 8. EMOTIONS: On an emotional level show your partner your true emotions. Don't play with your partner's emotions. There may be repurcussions that may be costly to your relationship if they are hidden & untrue. 9. INTELLIGENCE: Don't be a smartass to your partner. Always have an Equal say in your conversations with your partner. Never challenge your partner. Ask questions about to one another so you may get to know one another. Having stimulating conversations with your partner is Always good. 10. LOVE: If what you feel for your partner is Love, then pursue it & see where it will take you. If what you feel is opposite, just remain as friends, One never knows where that may lead to. When it comes to True Love Never ever Forget to say those 'Special' words to your partner. Your partner loves hearing them. Like any relationship, it takes 2 to make it work. If you are as 1 with each other then there is Love, If you are NOT that is just friendship or a mere Lust. Pagans all around the globe will be celebrating their own winter holiday that stems from ancient rites honoring the birth of light into the world. Winter solstice, also known as Midwinter, occurs once between December 20th to 23rd each year in the Northern Hemisphere when this part of the earth is at its farthest distance from the sun. It is at this point we begin the trek back to the sun. Because of this apparent return of sunlight, ancient peoples considered this time the ending of the darkness and coming of the light. From this belief sprang myths surrounding the birth of various sun gods from around the globe. It also brought forth the many death and rebirth stories in so many cultures including the myth of the Egyptian gods Isis, Osiris, and Horus. Osiris had been killed by his brother Set who wanted his throne. Isis, Queen of Heaven and Osiris' sister and wife, was able to bring him back to life briefly with the use of magick. At this time she became pregnant by Osiris with their child Horus. Many believed Horus to actually be Osiris reborn or resurrected and thus supporting the death/rebirth theme of the story. Celebrations arose from the belief of the rebirth of the sun god. Festivals are believed to have started in Egypt with feasts, fires and decorations to represent the sun. This idea spread to other areas around the globe over the centuries. In fact, many of the traditions we have today such as decorating with evergreens and other plants encouraging the emergence of the sun came from these older festivals. Not all celebrations honored the male aspect only however. Many sun goddesses were honored, especially those whose sphere of influence was seen as the home and hearth. Pagans who also practice magick will sometimes incorporate the energy of this time of year into their work. It is an especially affective time to do magick where the focus is to end a old way of living or thinking and beginning a new way. This can be as simple as lighting a candle and doing a personal reflection on those habits or ideas that you wish to be brought out of the darkness and into the light. Even the popular New Year's resolution can be done in a magickal way. Whether you are actively involved in group ritual revolving around the solstice and/or honoring the gods of your tradition or a solitary Pagan making a private offering at your own fireplace, you are part of a long tradition of welcoming the light back into the world.
