Ok, really, this just made me laugh. I'll admit, it's not many a friday night when I'm feeling bored enough to actually start a ruckus with people. Unfortunately, I had hoped for a real debate. My son came home from school yesterday with a story that pisses me off to no end! I'm not a violent person, but just typing this makes me want to throw the keyboard at the wall! Here's some background. Andrew will be 17 on Thursday. He has NEVER been in trouble at school, and has only been in a fight once because another kid jumped on him. I have always taught him to walk away from confrontations or get an adult to handle them. Andrew is a good kid. Drunken Ramblings
Okay........ I may have over-reacted on the last one, but to be honest i've been feeling mixed the last couple of weeks. I've had a war going on inside me: A battle between two sides of me. A lot of you that really know me know that there are two sides of my psyche; a child and an adult. Well, i've decided the child needs to go away. My Grandma In Memoriam
Well, my Grandma's funeral is in about an hour and a half. I found out this Sunday morning that she was ill and in the hospital. For some reason I felt I needed to go to her side immediately. So, I booked a flight and got to the hospital in LA by about 8:30 pm that night. Most of my family had been there and some were still by her side. It was hard to see her so fragile. She was the strength of the family, to me. She died at around 7:00 am the next morning. As much as I would like to be there with my family right now, I needed to be here taking care of my responsibilities. My children, my job and my husband's and my health all need to come first. I know that Grandma would agree with me and is ok with the fact that although I may not be there in person, my love is. Last Night...
I haven't posted anything on here in a long, long time... so here is this. When i left the house yesterday at 6 p.m. i really wasn't to worried about how i was going to get home. I knew that at some point, i would get back here, i just didn't know how. i figured i had my bus pass, so in theory, i'd come back just the opposite of the way i left. Take the 6 to the 2 and then walk home... however.... things don't always end up how i expect them to. My house is NOT the SPCA Current mood: distressed Category: Pets and Animals As many of you know, I already have 5 dogs because no one would adopt the three pups I had left of Lizzie's first litter. I spent $750.00 to get all the females fixed with shots and additional money for tie outs because they kept jumping the fence. I'm doing good just to keep them fed. Anyway, tonight about 10 pm my dogs started barking. I turned my light off and there was a guy standing at my back fence. I didn't go out there so, he went and got into a yellow VW bug and drove off. I thought it was really strange and just blew it off. About 11pm the dogs started barking again. This time I saw something white on the inside of my fence and thought it was one of my dogs that had gotten loose and was injured. I let my inside dog go out ahead of me as we both ran to the fence. Why My Colon Almost Fell Out
On June the 4th I had surgery on my lady parts, it was a laparoscopic surgery, that's where they put gas in your body to move your organs, and then they go in with long needle like tools and cameras. Well during this surgery the doctor perforated my colon which caused me to get an abscess (pocket of infection) which in turn caused my colon to become inflamed. When I got home from the surgery I was feeling groggy still from the anesthesia so I did not notice anything at that point. Once the anesthesia wore off I felt a tremendous pain in my right side. I started to freak out I was telling my mother and sister something was not right, they just figured it was normal pain from after the surgery and gave me pain pills. I was bent over the kitchen table just walking my feet back and forth like a cat kneading telling them over and over something was seriously wrong. A few days after the surgery I developed a high fever of 101 or 102, so I called the doctor and he told me

Dental Surgery 07/08/08
Not good at venting but here it goes.... Ok... so due to losing the Enamal & Calicum from my teeth due to lots of problems (not counting lots of meds I take which doesn't help) etc. My teeth have been breaking apart & the fillings are popping out. Which has me in pain everyday and hurts to eat just about anything (the upside: I lose weight). I'm not a fan of the dentist & to be honest, I'm a big baby to the pain. Just going to the dentist for a routine check-up & cleaning freaks me out and is very painful for me. After so long of putting it off due to being scared and nervous, I decided to finally make an appointment & go to the dentist, plus face my fear. So my appointment for dental surgery was scheduled (1pm in the afternoon...geesh!) & I'm told not to eat or drink anything after midnight the night before coming in. So I go to this new dentist yesterday to get all of my bottom teeth removed, and was surprised how compassionate the dentist &

Life Turned Upside Down
What a life-changing four weeks! Four weeks ago, we were on vacation in Yellowstone when we noticed some problems I was having with the left side of my body (left foot scuffing when I walked, drifting to the left, different feeling on the bottom of my left foot versus my right, etc). After a CT scan and MRI on my brain, I was diagnosed with brain tumors. We flew home three days early and I've been in the hospital for the last 25 days (I get released to go home today - yay!). We had a more in-depth MRI and biopsy done on one of the deeper tumors and the final diagnosis is that I have what is called a glioblastoma multiform level 4 (means cancer that started in the brain, the worst kind one can get I've been told). The tumors can't be removed without "me ceasing to be me" which is an option I don't like - I like being me! So, we'll start radiation and chemotherapy tomorrow for six weeks, then higher grade chemotherapy alone for another six months to try to stop, slow, or hopefully

Urrggghhh... 3.25pm - I've been up a couple of hours but I feel that the world is too bright and loud right now. Let me empty my head here as best as I can. Well I was originally supposed to go to Spain in December. Today must be my day for surprises because I am going to Mexico instead. The 2nd Amendment Or Not???
I don't know how many of you feel about the 2nd Amendment or even if you know what it was meant for. I can tell you this, it wasn't meant for duck hunting. I do not own any guns and at this time I don't plan to but some time I have to think about that. We have restrictive gun laws and many of them make sense but many do not, at least not to me. I was in the Air Force for 4 years and I ranked very good with guns at the time and I learned a few things. For one, if you know how, it won't make one bit of difference if a nut has a 1 shell capacity in his/her clip or 20. My Jeep is STILL in the fuckin shop! Tomorrow will be 11 days since I dropped it off to get the fuckin brakes fixed. These people are beyond incompetent! They give me one excuse after another. So, I've been calling around cuz it's been 6 days since my appt and they haven't scheduled my breast MRI yet. Finally I got ahold of someone today. She says they have to schedule it 7-14 days after the first day of my period. Sounds simple enough, but the only time I have a regular cycle is when I'm on the pill, which I can't be on because it will make my tumor grow. *growls* Well, I'm set up for November 14, but I'll have to reschedule when my period doesn't come by Friday. And I've had one every month for a few months now, so this will probably be the month I don't have one and I'll be waiting another month to get the MRI just so they can decide whether they can do a lumpectomy. Meanwhile, the tumor's probably growing.

Personal Update.
well. it has been since July 17th 2008, that my mom was taken away from me. every part of me was broken. I pushed everyone away, and remained distant...and it was the month before that...my brother was supposed to get married, to one of my dear best friends, but because they seen the pain that both my daughter, as well as myself were going through...they understood. Life...true Story Of 2008
I never realized how precious life is until this morning. Now mind you, I have encountered a near death experience before back in 2004 after having my youngest son and 3 weeks later was hours away from death when I was rushed to the hospital with a blood clot in my lung. Thankfully God spared me that time and I cherish my children more because of that experience. But nothing could have prepared me for this morning. It's December and of course weather is nasty here in NY. I had a doctors appt at 8am this morning and the drive normally takes me an hour. After seeing we were having freezing rain over night I decided to leave an hour earlier to make sure I arrived safely. I was fine after getting my early morning cup of coffee. I'm driving on the highway going with traffic at about 55 MPH. The roads were slick in some areas and slushy all over so I'm driving with precautions. I was on a 3 lane highway. Another Day, Another Eye Opener
So yesterday was my bday, and thank you for all the love from my friends. BUT, I never expected to spend my bday in the hospital and that is what happened. I had been having this pain in my knee for a few days and kept brushing it off, thinking I bumped my knee during my skid out on Xmas Eve. But when I woke up yesterday and could barely walk, I knew I had to go in. So the hospital did knee xrays, and nothing came back to say anything was wrong with my knee. The doc looked at my chart and saw I had had a Pulmonary Embolism in 2004 (blood clot in my lung), so he recommended a Doppler sonogram be done on my knee just to be 100% sure it wasn't a bloodclot. They did the Doppler and lo and behold...I have a bloodclot behind my knee. SO.....now I'm back on blood thinners BUT instead of complaining that I spent my bday in the ER all afternoon and evening, I am thankful that I didn't let my stubbornness keep me from going cuz I wouldn't have been here to tell you to Cherish Life always...it's

Workout Diary-day Five
Workout Diary, Day Five Weekends suck for my diet goals. I work all weekend long, from early in the morning until it's dark out, and I have to stand up for the better part of 8 or 9 hours. Working out is about the LAST thing on my mind when I get done. During the week has been equally challenging. The gym I am a member of has several locations, and alternates males/female days. The gym near my house is Tues/Thurs/Sat for lady days, and the gym near my work is Mon/Weds/Fri. They are both closed on Sunday now, which eliminates that day altogether. For instance, if I work a 2-9 on Monday, I would have to drive to the other side of town, work out, come back home, get ready for work, then go back across town again. Its a waste of time and gas. I could shower at the gym, but then I would have to haul a change of clothes, which would be wrinkled and smell like the gym when I leave, and all my shower stuff too. Blah. So my workouts have been limited to Tuesday and Thursday,

Finally Me Again
Ive been doing a lot of reflecting on my past and who i was and who i am now. I didnt like a lot of the things i found at first but the deeper i went the more i found that im not as bad as i thought i was. I finally found myself again. It was brought to my attention this afternoon that today they put to rest four cops that were killed in the line of duty in Oakland. He did have me take a different one today which he said he could read. The diagnosis on the paper he gave me for the transitional place is: Major Depression, Recurrent, Moderate Anxiety, NOS, rule out PTSD Avoidant Personality Disorder with dependent and borderline features So I guess I have a little more issues then I thought. They plan on cutting $57 billion out of the Medicare home health benefit over 10 years. Home health represents only 4.5% of the total Medicare budget, but 11% of the proposed total cuts. Home health is a key solution for lowering the cost of health care. It is the most cost effective way to care for the sick and elderly. More importantly, the sick and elderly want to stay in their home. They recover more quickly at home with family and friends. Without home health care, seniors will be readmitted into hospitals and transferred to nursing homes, both of which will put a greater financial burden on our Medicare system.
