The person who downrated my blog told me why he did it. He thought I had blocked him. I guess for some reason I had accidently had that setting on that anyone in my family blocks someone than that person is blocked. It was accidental. 2 Down And 50 To Go...
So far I've survived the first two weeks of 2007... only 50 more weeks and it will be complete... it has been an eventful 14 days... Have you ever reached a point in your life where everything seems to be going wrong and gettin worse with each day that passes? As far as down-rates are concerned - I've only rated probably 5 people at MOST a '1' and that was because they messed with my friends. As a rule, I give everyone a 10 or an 11 if I REALLY like their profile. But it should be MY DECISION to rate someone a 9 or an 8... Will I defend my decision to rate someone a 9 or one of their photos an 8? Of course! But why should it be that this site forces me to reveal myself if I really don't feel like doing it? I try to go on the "I'm bored" link, which links too to the pics that are posted elsewhere just so that I can do my part in an effort to balance off those downraters. This revelation was made months ago about this issue. The sad thing is that those folks outside of the site aren't aware of the community's dynamics and common decency we do for those we vote upon.. either vote a 10 or 11, but if you don't like the option to vote upon (pic, profile, etc.) just don't vote on it. We can't change the powers to be's decision about posting our pictures and blogs elsewhere because they are doing everything that they can do to entice more people coming to the site, a part of their marketing efforts. Hope this helps in delineating what the issue is and where those downraters are coming from (generally not a member of the LC/CT

Ok, so I've heard some downraters say that they are just giving their honest opinion of people's pics when they rate. Great, it doesn't really matter what anyone thinks anyway. Here's my honest opinion...I never give anyone less than a 10 for the simple fact that if they are confident enough in themselves to put pictures up on the internet, then they deserve a little respect! About a month ago, as an experiment, I switched my default picture to one I took a couple years ago of a cat sunning itself on the patio of the Ernest Hemingway house in Key West. This picture wasn't of me or anything I really cared about. In fact, it was in a directory I had fogotten about which means I had at least 100 pictures from that trip I liked better. Still. a little cropping to improve the perspective and it isn't a bad shot. I bet you are wondering why I am bothering you folks with this. Well, I do find the results interesting I thought I would share them. Before I posted the picture I was averaging a '1' rating per day on any picture I posted as my default. I dont know what people get off by down rating. I have never down rated anyone. I dont see a point. There are so much down rating going on in real life. Spent the day with my son downtown. We don't really spend much time downtown San Antonio because it's mostly a tourist place but...it was nice. He recently moved in with me. It's been good really. I do not know about but it pisses me off when people rate my pictures or friends of mine pictures low. I rate everyone high because I do not want them to feel bad. I also do not want them to do the same to me. I do not care if I am playing the hot or not game. I still rate their pictures high. I do not think it is very nice to rate someones picture a 3 or 1. People do have feelings. I know I should probally not let this get to me but it does. I think it gets to me more because I have been made fun of my whole life. Yesterday I finally got some time to go and see my father, who is currently in hospital care, waiting for a nursing home to come available for him. Well he has gottten worse since the last time I saw him. He is very sick now, he might lose his foot because of his diabetes, also his memory is getting worse with each day. he didn't even know who i was for a few mintues when i got there. This is becoming a very hard thing for me to face, I don't think he will last another year. I am not ready to give up on him yet but it is a reality i will have to soon face. Also on the other hand I have finally met my older brother that my father had with a woman over 55 years ago, my brother Chuck and his wife Kathy came to town to see our father, who he hasn't seen since he was 2 yrs old. I also discovered that I have another sister who lives about an hour and half drive away from me.
