A Former Marines Perspective
Well many times on this very site ive had people ask me why is it that I and many others have joined the military and it got me to thinking. well ill try to explain it from my point of view. As a Company, Southwest Airlines is going to support 'Red Fridays.' Last week I was in Atlanta , Georgia attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen. Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. I wanted to take a minute to say thank you to all my friends I have made on here. Last night I was overwhelmed with all the love you showed me and leveled me. I chatted with a few to tell you what was going on but I felt the need to share with the rest so you did not think I was not appreciative of your actions. Back in March my dad passed away at the age of 68 and on that last day I was there with him and my mom and brother for 8 horrible hours watching him die and it was possibly the hardest thing I have ever experienced in my life. My uncle has been in the hospital for the past year fighting cancer and sunday my mom asked me to take her to see him, she did not want to go by herself, when we got there and I walked in that room I relived the horror of watching my dad all over again. It had the same reaction on my mom which is heartbreaking to see. My parents were married for 49 years and together for 53. I got word yesterday that my uncle died and to be honest it was

WAIT AND FUCKING STOP!!!!!!!!!! Before you ruin your PC because it's "time to do it" You should first realize a few things. Like first of all, constantly formatting your Hard drive is actually BAD FOR IT. It's only a magnetic disc with a glass or highly polished aluminum covering. Formatting it over and over will eventually wear the disk out, burn the heads up, or other damage that is NOT repairable. Next, most of you's out there use third party utilities to format your drives. Especially for Slave and spare disc's. STOP you dont need that shit. Hi, My father died at 9.30 this morning ( UK time ). Despite the fact that his death comes following protracted illness I am somewhat in shock, my feelings are changing from moment to moment as those of you who have lost someone close may have experienced, it's uncomfortable but entirely normal, I know I have a whole grieving process to go through and know enough about that and myself to know that I will both manage and from where I can get support, I got at least that much from the training etc. I'm certainly not looking for sympathy, I am NOT powerless, but rather some understanding if I dont answer you in the shout box or reply immediately to any other message sent. Forms Of Address
Theres a growing trend here for employees of services such as gas, electricity, water, telephone, etc to address their customers very casually by their first names. Some people find this acceptable but many do not. Mainly older people have found this particularly unacceptable and objectionable. The rationale is to appear "cool" and "trendy", rather than old school. My understanding is that it is more professional to stick to a title + surname basis. Having said that, I wouldn't be particularly offended by someone going to a first name basis so long as they provided a good service. As a professional, I tend to stick to the old school title + surname way of addressing people till I am invited to use their first name. I recently read an article all about this, which has prompted me to write this blog. What is everyone else's view?
