I lost my Dad on January 4th and this is the poem I read at his service....
God saw you was getting tired, and a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around you and whispered
"Come with me."
With tearful eyes we watched you suffer
and saw you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hardworking hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
That you had passed his test.
With momma now we lay you down,
We'll do our best not to frown.
Remember Daddy we love you,
And we know you loved us too.
Watch down on us and guide us,
As we know you tried to do.
When God calls down upon us, on that glorious day,
Together at heavens gates we'll be, forever to stay.
