What A Week

Being a single parent (as most of us know) can be both trying and rewarding. My daughter is a honor roll student, band geek, and pms queen. My son is a video game freak and just gets what needs to be done in school. I try my darnest to balance their needs, work and my own schooling and sometimes it doesn't seem to be enough. This past week I believe my daughter may have gotten a view of how "bad" other parents can be -- her best friends parents came home drunk - one thing led to another - the kids were taken away again. I feel for the kids, they are good kids. The parents, I'm not too sure. I guess I do not understand the power of alcohol - I battled with drugs about a decade ago and know its evils. What a St. Patty’s day. The girl came over about 5:30 and the three of us went out about 7:00. We went to Helen Fitzgerald’s here in the ‘lou’ and had some traditional Irish grub! What Is Going On In Our School Systems??
Ok I went to my sons school today for his "Spring Party" and was really upset. We have the parties at school for certain holidays. When I was young we called them what they are. But now for the sake of political correctness they have changed it. I guess what got me was that we couldnt call it an Easter Party because we might offend the families who do not have the beleifs that go with this holiday. Umm ok I can understand that but if we are trying not to offend them then why did the kids hunt eggs and why did everyone say to have a Happy Easter (including the teacher) when it was time to go. Christmas break is now Winter Break but.... our kids still have a Valentine's Day party.... did I miss something here?? I guess so. I might have slept thru most of the time that I spent in church when I was younger but you know something smells fishy to me. Oh well we all just have to deal with it and take things as they come.

lol I thought I would all bore you to death about what I just did...ok I have a problem when cutting my nails I always seem to go past the quick..I don't know why I do this I just do it allright? ok so like 3 days ok while doing some nail grooming I did that to the index finger and yesterday it was starting to hurt something fierce during spiderman 3 but I didn't do anything about it..and it was even starting to bother me why typing..so this morning when I got up I noticed my finger was ten timees larger then normal lol now I hate the doctors I figure there is nothing they can't do that I can do my self so I got a thumbtack heated it up on a stove burner and jabbed it in the finger in question til it punctured and I squeezed till blood and green pus oozed out..and you know what? my finger doesn't hurt I am able to type this up with no problem..I washed it up real good with soap dumped peroxide on it and we are good to go..I swear I could be Macguyver..if I had 3 names like Richard Dean

In life we take breathing for granted. I don't! The simple reason being is that as most of you know I have a mechanical aorta valve! When I was young I thought I was normal I played around like any kid would. When I was older I started having problems. Being that I was born with the problem I thought it was normal! I couldn't breathe right and I had severe chest pains every so often (but not enough to make me wonder if something was wrong). It realy hit me one day when I was working for a meat company. I can go forever on this but I'll make this short for the interest of keeping peoples attention. There is the way that lots of people seem to do most often, and that is of course judging people by their looks. You hear so often people saying things like how hot someone is. Obviously because of their looks. YOu know the saying "Don't judge a book by a cover"? I have seen people like that. They have looks but when it comes up to brains, they are usually lacking in that department. Now the way that I personally like and that people should actually look for is by personality. You get to know them more that way and see what interests you have in common. Or don't have if that is the case. Claire & Ali Wedding 08.09.07 well today started same as always. got up, got ready for work, picked up friend from work then on way to work it all went wrong. Driving down a road the car in front of me braked to turn right so i, obviously, braked too. Well It has been two weeks now since my wife left me for this guy in OK. I am getting more depressed as time goes by. I been trying to think what I did or did'nt do that was so wrong that she would leave me after almost 17 yrs of marriage. I asked her the question but she has yet to tell me an answer. R.I.P. DAD... today is the 6th month anniversary and the birthday of my father. He was "Papa" to my 7 year old nephew JJ, My Daughter Jacquelyn and my Son Robert. I get up this morning, in a decent mood,ready for work. Our opening routine go's as normal till we go to open the drawer. And we realize the float bag was missing. this is what happened to me on friday June 8th. I spent the night at my bosses and his wife house because I had to be to work by 8, after work I planned on picking up my kids and going over to my sister's house to collect some of the money she owes me. Well I went and had my physical Friday so I could get into the Army....that was a nightmare, but I passed and that is all that matters. After my physical I sat down with someone to pick my job and to find out when I leave for basic training. Well the job I picked was my second choice cause the first choice wasn't available to me which sucks but thats ok so I went for the next thing I wanted to do and that was a 63B which is a light wheel vehicle mechanic working on any vehicle less than 5 tons. Then he told me what my ship date was and that was June 21, 2007 only 11 days away but the night before i have to go back to MEPS and do everything all over again just so they can make sure that everything is still the same and no pending court hearings or traffic tickets and all that good stuff. I leave for basic training on the 21st and that is 9 weeks long I am going to Ft. Jackson, SC and from there I will be going somewhere in Maryland for my AIT which is training on the job that I picked,

What An Amazing Summer So Far...
The Shadows Edge Every time I think of this story it still gives me the chills even after all these years. I remember that night very vividly... This happened to me about sixteen years ago right after I had gotten my drivers license and got to use my dad's car by myself for the first time.
