I have been sitting day in and day out listening to the whining and crying of people claiming to be Goth. These people so inaccurately carry the flag not even knowing what it means to be a Modern Day Goth. It is because of these people (my oldest son included) that I am compelled to write this blog and make a statement against the negative portrayal of the Gothic Lifestyle and the negative connotations and stereotypes that have arisen from the posers within this sub-culture.Here is a list of common misconceptions with brief rebuttals refuting the connotations associated with the assumptions: 1. Goths are defined by the types of music they listen to (ie. metal, industrial, punk, alternative). This is one of the biggest misconceptions. Sack Lunches
I put my carry-on in the luggage compartment and sat down in my assigned seat. It was going to be a long flight. 'I'm glad I have a good book to read. Perhaps I will get a short nap,' I thought. Just before take-off, a line of soldiers came down the aisle and filled all the vacant seats, totally surrounding me. I decided to start a conversation. 'Where are you headed?' I asked the soldier seated nearest to me. ' Chicago - to Great Lakes Base. We'll be there for two weeks for special training, and then we're being deployed to Iraq ' After flying for about an hour, an announcement was made that sack lunches were available for five dollars. It would be several hours before we reached Chicago, and I quickly decided a lunch would help pass the time. As I reached for my wallet, I overheard soldier ask his buddy if he planned to buy lunch. 'No, that seems like a lot of money for just a sack lunch. Probably wouldn't be worth five bucks. I'll wait till we get to Chicag

The World According To Sarah
Yay! My first entry! Haha! Ok so yeah, I'm punk and all, but that doesn't mean I don't vote and get involved in politics. It irritates the crap out of me first that people don't vote and second that people vote based on their religious ideals and not political and social view points. AHHHH! WTF? Whatever happened to separation of church and state? I grew up in a fundamental baptist family. Ugh. Being human has its many faults. With all these faults, we still have the ability to overcome what in powers us to fall among the most common of circumstances. To Judge is to be judged. I myself have fallen prey to this character trait. To hurt is to be hurt. To love is to be loved. It is a parallel world we surround ourselves in. I had a rare opportunity to meet someone who I feel will be a very special friend in my life. We shared lunch together at one of her favorite restaurants and had a wonderful time. Me & My Big Mouth...
I was having a conversation last night with a good friend on this site. We both just received Auto 11s from a giveaway that she had entered both of us in. We had decided that we weren't going to activate them at the same time. She told me she wanted me to do mine first because she was ready to see me Godmother. My response to this was ".....sad thing is it just doesn't mean that much anymore." I thought nothing of this statement and left for work. About 3 hours later it hit me what I had done. That was the most insensitive, ungrateful thing I could have said to her. She and 2 other good friends have been on my page nonstop trying to level me to Godmother. Economy Sux!
So if Chrysler merges w/ General Motors.... My hubby could lose his job. He's a designer at GM. If the merge happens, they only need so many designers and for him only being there for 10 years, could be a chance they will pick off the guys that have the less experience. He is a pretty good designer and is working on the electric car as we speak so who knows what could happen....but this economy fckn sux! So now I have to put my schooling on hold just in case he does get laid off, so we could use that extra money to help us thru. Are we going thru a new depression?? Tenacity... something everyone needs every now and then. Tenacity, some thing im gaining a little more of with every negative response for employment. I open the door and find the room fairly dark. It is barely after 5 p.m. A dim light glows in the corner. Your silhouette is outlined in front of it. I walk over to you quickly. Here We Go Again...
For those who've read my blogs and have talked with me, here's the latest update. As some of you know, at the beginning of this year, my son started having mysterious stomach ailments. His Dr. put him through alot of tests to find out the cause of his pain. After several months we thought we had finally figured out the problem. In May of this year, my son went through a minor surgery. The surgery went fine and he was given a clean bill of health. Or so we thought. Wasn't long after his surgery he started having the same symptoms all over again. I can't tell you how upsetting this was to us. Very upsetting for my baby. He went through some more testing and more exams recently. I got a call from his Dr. at the beginning of this past week informing me they would like to do additional testing to see if he has Crohns' Disease. My heart fell into the bottom of my stomach. I know what this disease does to adults and the thought of my baby having this terrifies me. I've been on edge all week l

Please keep an open mind while reading. This is not a bashing of single mothers. In fact, I have nothing but the utmost respect (and awe) for single mothers. OMG! Halloween rocked the house. My boyfriend (Ryan) me, his mom and her friends went out of town to this club that had a live band and we had so much fun! INGREDIENTS * 3 cloves garlic, minced * 1/3 cup olive oil * 1/4 cup tomato sauce * 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar * 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil * 1/2 teaspoon salt * 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper * 2 pounds fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined * skewers DIRECTIONS 1. In a large bowl, stir together the garlic, olive oil, tomato sauce, and red wine vinegar. Season with basil, salt, and cayenne pepper. Add shrimp to the bowl, and stir until evenly coated. Cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour, stirring once or twice. 2. Preheat grill for medium heat. Thread shrimp onto skewers, piercing once near the tail and once near the head. Discard marinade. 3. Lightly oil grill grate. Cook shrimp on preheated grill for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until opaque. My Own Hands
Going to bed last night I thought of, or realized, something. Anything I have done or anything I have I've done with my own 2 hands. I don't count on others to buy me things or give me things. Part of my brain makes me proud of that fact. Another part asks another question, which I will not mention here. The thought started in Fu, but expanded to that real world out there. Another thought was all those people out there who are the exact opposite. Who have things handed to them, most of the time because of how they look or maybe because of who they are. One thing I need to realize in those times of diffucult choices is not to further their ego by handing them over things like many others. It only hurts them in the end really :D.

The Bus
I see my life as a big charter bus. It looks great from the outside big and black and shiny with a great colorful design on the side. It is just beautiful. At least from a distance. Once you get closer you see that the windows are kind of dirty and the paint is scuffed and chipped in some places. Still from the outside it looks just fine. It doesn't seem to run anymore. So to get any where I have to push it. It rolls for a while once I get it going. It really doesn't have great direction unless I can run up and jump inside and steer for a while but then it comes to an hill or just time and gravity start to affect it and next thing I know it is stopped again. 1/2 Lb. Penne Pasta 2 Red Peppers, Thinly Sliced. 2 Tbs. Olive Oil 4 Tbsp. Fresh Basil, Chopped Cook Penne Pasta as directed on package. Saute Red Peppers in Olive Oil until tender, but still a little crisp. Place in serving dish. Toss in drained Penne Pasta and Basil. Variation: Use 1 Red Pepper and 1/2 Yellow Pepper and 1/2 Green Pepper for a colorful presentation. 1/2 lb. Penne Pasta 2 oz. Grated Mozzarella Cheese 1 oz. Grated Parmesan Cheese 2 Tbsp. Butter 2 Tbsp. Olive Oil 1/4 Cup Fresh Basil Leaves, Chopped Cook Penne Pasta as directed on package. Drain and return to pot. Add the Grated Mozzarella and Parmesan Cheeses, Butter, Olive Oil and Salt and Pepper to taste. Then toss over low heat until Mozzarella starts to melt. Sprinkle with Basil. 1/2 Lb. Sen. Obama seems like a nice enough person, but so many things just don't add up to his making a good President of the United States. first impressions of fubar. I was up to level 10....deleted my profile and started all over again , and i really dont know why im back again to be honest. It seems to be populated by women who are more than willing for you to rate every single last one of their pics , but they will never go near yours. I just got back from driving my kids to school... As I drove through the center of town, the street was lined with cars since it is Election Day... Wow Ya never realize just how dangerous our own backyards are. and just how some innocent playing can turn almost deadly.... There is a lot of ignorance surrounding Obama and a lot of ignorance and racism that surrounded and clouded this election. So yesterday on the way to work, I was listening to my favorite morning show on the radio and they talked about a story that surfaced from another state. This story involved a woman giving out candy on Halloween but ONLY to kids of parents that supported McCain.
