Today though, I was kinda sitting and evaluating something.
The money I spent on my rather sweet Dell PC built and picked exclusively for gaming.
(Yes... I built a dell for games and... about nothing else ...might need more ram to take some of the load off my gfx card)
and I've been thinking, yet again, about the marvelous lovebox

the PS3.
This is going to be a LONG rant about gaming, you might wanna check out NOW if you don't care about how I feel about the gaming industry and flaws therein.
In June there WILL be a package deal for the ONLY game I'm living for since... 1990.

How do I justify spending $600 that I need to get the FUCK out of this city on a system I've genuinely evaluated as less practical and less versatile (as far as game titles) as my Wii AND my PC combined?
I intend to back up a dozen or so of my old NES and SNES games once I get another wireless hub and about 30$ to my name. Mario Kart Wii along with a multitude of other titles will be coming out with more online capability, and I can at long last race my brother or punch him in the head when its not some family holiday.
So why the PS3?
Really... I just want it for future longevity of the PS1 and PS2 games I ALREADY OWN!
and a few of them are already reported as having some backwards compatibility issues with the 80gig PS3. (OH SWEET JESUS! Do NOT get me started on the backwards compatibility issues and the SIMPLE fucking TECH that they could put in to remedy it)

Today, Scott Ramosair (VGcats.com) admitted that the PS3 is likely to sweep Xbox and Wii this year.
Ah dur! When fucking EA says it in a press release in JANUARY! big things are going to happen for investors, market analysts AND game designers, and yes, something's already up.
The bad news for Xbox is- Sony learned from their own mistakes last console war. Competing with Xbox made connectivity and online play AN ISSUE, they made hardware superiority an ISSUE, that's what competitions DOES in a healthy economic or creative environment.
I regret to inform Microsoft that they never stood a REAL prayer in the console wars, but THANK YOU for getting Sony and Nintendo OFF THEIR ASSES, and learning from your mistakes, their mistakes, and gods' mistakes!
However, what Nintendo has the best pulse on is FUN, ingenuity, creativity, and nostalgia.
Hopefully this temporary bump in the road with backward compatibility in the PS3's will be remedied in future releases and firmware updates

the viability and cost of a ps3 at present, will not justify buying one if the fucking ps4 comes out in 2 years and costs a fucking GRAND!
Same goes for Xbox360, they're ALREADY treading water, with catastrophic hardware failures, a lack of individual titles and hardware inferiority (granted they have enough to play anything AND they've got a LOT of exclusives, but often times any DECENT xbox release will go to PC its good business sense, and its an EASY fucking port because... bad news PS3 and Xbox are just glorified fucking PC's!!!)

GTA4 FINALLY has online play and multiplayer roaming the ONE feature I EVER wanted out of that game for replayability.

and its going to KICK ASS... but... it'll innevitabley come for PC as well JUST like GTA4.
What am I getting at...
I'm going to spend $600 for ONE exclusive game designed SPECIFICALLY for the PS3.
The rest..really, I can wait for to come on PC while I play Warhammer online. and I'm sorry, but playing a FPS or an MMO or any strategy game without my fucking mouse or keyboard feels like beating off a down-syndrome kid for nickels.
Just fucking pointless.
Now that PS3's and Xbox have connectivity for those things... they're a PC in a smaller fucking box!
Start putting friggin output systems for consoles like printer ports, and scanners, and new OS's (which Sony has done) and such... and seriously- I can burn this fucking PC. Granted, at present, that PS3 loads faster, crashes less, and runs smoother than my desktop... but someday we'll hit another plataeu in hardware development, and I'll have no reason for BOTH in my house. My TV doesn't need to think, my oven doesn't need to tell my fridge its on, and not everything in my house and pocket has to be a fucking computer and talking back and forth!
Oh yeah, and everyones' working together to FUCK you into buying an "HD TV". This includes movie makers, game makers, TV makers, and the network providers. Look it up.
