Icarus's blog: "Hurts to watch."

[Last night]

I had another dream about her.
I think it was friendship themed though.
Kinda caperish. Think there might have been ninjas.

Anyway

Yesterday I had wild boar sausage. It was fanfuckintastic. Picture the best pork sausage you ever had...

>> okay that's pretty much it.
It's a little leaner and incrementally sharper in taste.

This afternoon I had tuna steak and didn't do anything terribly daring since its like... the second? time I've ever cooked it.
I'd say I know what to look for now. I just need to pinpoint a good sauce and accompanying piece. I was thinking horseradish and dill, arugala and rice.

Zaku II's done. 1/100 MG Version 2. Holy
shit.

I put pistons into nonvisible plated parts that didn't actually serve a function
and
EVERY joint
was rubber on plastic with about 4 extra pieces.

This is a good thing, reduces wear and grind.

So >> yeah, very very impressive unit.
Very stable.
After I had him together the hardest part was picking a stance, and fitting the teensy grooves on his hands into the weapons.
Still an entire aeon away from my non MG 1/100's in detail and stability.

Right now I have him posed with his machine gun in his hand and his howitzer in the other
the howitzer is a BITCH to pose as you have to get a very specific crook in his shoulder, elbow and wrist just to get the magazine to sling over his shoulder, and get the grip in his hand.

Also
not crazy about the machine gun's butt.
Might eventally grind it down :/
its too... wide at the base- makes him bend his elbow out from his body just to fit it in a neutral position.

>> Also, don't see the point of such a rigid butt on a giant metal crane arm.

More of a fan of the front clip MM80 seen in later series. While the top drum loader is stylish and distinctively Zaku

it doesn't actually fit the design of the Zeon suits.
The MM80 has either a wire folding stock or no stock and rests easilly in the unit's elbow with room for a supporting grip on the underside or top of the barrel.

Think Mac 10 or Thompson instead of that crazy prototype pre-kalashnikov top drum gun the russians used...
you have
NO fucking idea what I'm talking about do you?

I'll load pictures later.

Anyway.

I also ordered a Kampfer and a version 1 1/100 MG Gouf. I heard HORROR stories about this unit
not poseable enough
not articulated
feeder tubes
hence the Version 2 1/100 Gouf was released.

Problem is

the version 2 is at least $30 more expensive
and I've seen most of the parts and construction for both.

I'll gladly pocket my $30 and take the inferior model.
I liked the color finishing on version one better anyway.

Now
I loved my Zaku II MG Version 2.
But I also have a version 1 MG Gouf Custom, and had very few complaints.

Not to mention my technical skill with these things has gone up leaps and bounds between the last two.
I think I can compensate with any of the kit's shortcomings with enough time.

I should expect my new kits in 5 business days.

Master Grade Kampfer

Custom finish Zaku with Machine Gun.

Char's Custom S-type Command Zaku with MMP 80 Machine Gun (with what appears to be a grenade launcher undermount- not seen in the Anime that featured this mobile suit)

DPM Light Machine Gun
