Last week was one of the worst weeks of my life, not involving a death of someone close.
To start, a coworker quit, leaving us very short handed. This coworker was on call, so natureally everyone else is out of state, so of course I get to take over. In fact, the week did start with a funeral, so I guess my prior statement doesn't count lol.
So last week, I ended up working 80 hours. I know what you're saying, the paycheck will be awesome, and that is true, but by the time taxes and whatever else is taken out...oh well.
By midweek, my ex wife calls me up screaming. My oldest calls her up, and complains that he isn't seeing his counselor enough. Not me bother, but her, who lives an hour and a half away. So I got an earful for something I can't change.
I am at my wit's end with the boy. He's a good kid, with absolutely no motivation, and a horrendous "poor me" attitude. Sounds like he's getting it from me. We're waiting on his report card, and believe me, I'm not expecting much. His last semester was a total waste of all our times.
So that brings us to Sunday. Sunday was Father's day, and also our anniversary. My wife and I both decided to take the following Monday off, since the kids were leaving to Wisconsin with their Grandma. So I was gonnna sleep late, spend time with the kidlets, and spend all day Monday alone with my wife.
8 AM Sunday morning, my mom calls, and has a "sinus infection". Shes stuffed up, and everything is draining. So I go and pick up my oldest (he works with her, and just stays so he can go to church with her in the mornings), and I got the impression she was neither stuffed up, or draining. I think that she wanted to wait a day, so that Dem could go to his counselors appointment personally.
So we had Father's day, grilled out, their cousin came over and stayed the night, because he's going to Wisconsin with them. So we're up to 3 teenage boys by the end of the day, and two more because my son's friends came over. Not exactly how I expected to spend the second part of our anniversary. So instead of a romantic night alone, we got a houseful.
Monday, we got up early, because we had a guy come look at our garage, and then entertained boys the whole day, after cooking a delicious breakfast that hardly anyone ate. Dem got to his counselor, the boys ate crap all day, and they finally left, just in time for my wife to get pissed because I didn't do something that she didn't ask me to do.
I wish I didn't waste the vacation day...
