~Where Would All The Cowboys Be?~
Oh, Lord, as I ride out on my horse
the sun a’peepin’ from the hills this Easter morn,
bringing in cattle, checking fences
mending all those that are torn.
As the sun rises with me on my ride,
I know that You are with me, riding by my side.
But I can’t help but wonder how it would really be
For all God’s creatures, my wife, and my family.
Would we be living in a wasteland of greed,
hurt, anger, resentment and hostility?
Who would protect our lands, our homes,
our friends, our animals and our families?
If You hadn’t been sent to be among us?
If You hadn’t died on the cross?
If You hadn’t risen and given chances to all, including me?
Dear, Lord, if not for You, where would all the cowboys be?
