So, I've got a lot of friends at this point. What can you expect of me as your friend?
I will leave an occasional comment on your page.
I will always return love left for me.
I will answer shouts and emails.
I will rate your default pics when you become my friend, as well as comment as I feel the urge, unless I'm really really short on time, in which case I will try to remember to go back and do it.
I would really hope for the same courtesy. I think about 10% of my friends actually rate my default pics, let alone the rest of my pics. Mostly people only rate my NSFW pics, which is nice, but doesn't help me :).
I will do my best to remember your birthday if I know it. (See the blog posting
Birthday Love.)
I will do my best to keep up with blog postings, and to a lesser extent, new pics.
If you let me know you're trying to level, I'll do my best to help you out (if I have time).
On the other side of the coin:
I will dump you from my friends list if I don't hear anything from you at all in three to four weeks, or if you mistreat me. (The exception is the few of you -- you know who you are -- who don't really talk to me, but do an extraordinary job of keeping up with my blogs, stash, pics, etc.)
I will ignore all bulletins threatening to dump me from your friends list if I don't read them. In fact, I will probably ignore all bulletins that don't appear to be personal.
I will not comment bomb or vote for you in contests. I don't understand contests, and I have better things to do with my time than compete for you in a popularity contest. In the end, contests are about who can encourage/guilt-trip their "friends" into voting for them. How is that really "winning?"
I will not rate and comment your NSFW pics if I don't know you. You won't get points, and my comments will be stupid. I ran out of creative things to say about penises about 100 penises ago. And if you are a stranger to me, I won't care about your NSFW photos. They will not turn me on. In fact, they will probably bore and/or amuse me, and that's probably not what you're going for. (For more on this subject, read my
Guidelines for Me blog post.)
Just, ya know, settin' up expectations. :)
If you haven't already, I encourage you to read my Guidelines for Me blog post.
