What are you waiting for?
I am suspended in a cage. To the right of me is another cage with my oldest son and two daughters, to the left of me is a cage holding my love. I reach out to my kids and their cage starts to drop toward the black, inky muck below us. I try to reach for my love and his cage starts to drop toward the muck. Off in the distance ahead of me on a ledge is my youngest son telling me “I love you mom, take care.”, as he walks toward a brightly lit doorway. Behind me is a crying little girl with a blanket and a stuffed animal. She turns away from me and walks toward a doorway of a closet and steps in shutting the door behind her. I turn back toward the two cages. My love says “I am leaving baby”. From the other cage my oldest daughter says “Mommy, I found a man.”, my youngest daughter says “I’m going to marry my girlfriend.”, and my oldest son says “Mom you never really loved me did you”? I think to myself if I can just get to them, then all will be ok. I reach for both cages at the same time and I hear a very loud sinister laugh as my cage starts to drop into the black muck. My cage is sinking fast and I am scared. The blackness starts to swallow me and I cannot escape the cage. I am going to be swallowed up, cage and all. I reach out my hand through the bars of the cage as my head goes under the muck all the while frantically reaching my hand out for help.
This one is mainly for all the young ones out there that think they know everything there is to know and they are all grown up. Surprise you are not. You don't know jacksh*t. You think that just because you get some attention from some over 18 dude that it is love and "he is the one", well you are sadly mistaken. He is just a perv in a sheeps clothing that wants you because he thinks he can control you. Tell me, when you are 16 and he is 25. What is the difference if he goes for a 12-14 year old? Just because you are older does not mean you are old enough to date this dude. You are still a minor and he is a man. If you are 18 and he is 27 then it is different. Flash forward 10 years and you are married to the dude, he gets bored with you or wants some more action and you are prego so you are not that "in the mood", he is out with another teen and getting it on. What would you do then? Will you report him and leave him or cry like a little girl and wish you listened to what you were told in the past from the voice of wisdom? You will cry like a baby, because even when you are older and you have it happen to you when someone told you the warning signs before, you chose not to listen. Too bad you gotta deal with it now.

Who knows the thoughts we think but us ourselves. Those tormented dreams that haunt us at night may be from bad food or a movie we have seen. How do we understand the human mind in the vastness of its space? No one can truely understand us unless they know us or talk to us. A college conversation or friends words may spark a flame in our minds and open a whole other doorway that previously had been closed. Sometimes good comes out and other times bad can spew forth. Whatever comes from the mix, it is bound to upset someone. That is why they say words cut as knives. If what our words are, hold our thoughts from deep whithin our minds; does that mean we really feel and believe them? Do we write to express our feelings and help to chase the shadows of coldness from our lives? Do we write to feel alive and try to let others understand just a portion of us? Who knows why we write but those that write themselves.
