As a lot of you will know, I went to my dads funeral last thursday night, and decided to spend some time with one of my uncles, and only got back very late wednesday.
First of all, the funeral was strange, 'cause even though everyone there was related (except for mt mum and a couple of random people) there were 6 of my dads brothers but no one really knew anybody (especially me 'cause i'd only met one of them before) because they hardly kept in touch, and if anything, thats the best thing my dad ever did, bring his brothers together again.
The next day I had a few cans of cider and chatted with my uncle for a few hours and learnt a lot about the family and just had a good talk. That saturday I went out with the same uncle and his wife and got a bit drunk, lol, and had a good time.
Spent the next couple of days with him just walking around town really and watching tv with him and on the tuesday got to hang out with one of my cousins for most of the day, and got on with her quite well too.
Then on wednesday I had enough time to go out for a few hours with one of my other uncles and another cousin and had a good day out.
So now I know two uncles i'd never met, two aunts i'd never met, four cousins i'd never met, and all the rest but i'll probably never see them again. But now I chat to one of my cousins on msn and one of my uncles too, which again is something my dad did for me after death but couldn't do while he was alive, and that cannot be a bad thing.
