I had the first game of softball season on Friday. It's been a long time since I have played, and even when I did play it was really just something to do while we drank beer, at work, with other coworkers. To let you know just how seriously we played, I carry a bottle opener in my bat bag. I'm the type that just plays for fun, though I do consider winning "fun" I wont give up other fun just to win. I did have some trepidation on playing with this new team/league, I did not know what to expect, and honestly, my awesomeness does not include sports.
When I got there, I already knew they take it way more seriously than I do. I showed up with my old jersey, unbuttoned of course, no hat, and they are there in full uniforms, with matching pants! Yeah I knew I was in trouble. I did a little bp, shagged some balls, and then the game started. Like I mentioned before, I dont have any skills, so I was behind home plate for most of the game. I was glad that there were no deciding plays at home, I dont know if I was up for the stress. I had three at bats, the first one I hit a rope that landed in short left field for a single. My second at bat I took a walk in four straight pitches (seeing as how the pitcher walked the guy before me, I wasnt going to swing till he threw me a strike. My third at bat, the other team was saying I was a "Looker" and I said thanks, I been dieting, but it did get to me, and I swung at some crap. The ball died like 3 feet from the plate, but I legged it out before the large catcher could get up and throw it, so I got a single.
We ended up losing by one run, though the bases were loaded in the final inning, so it was a close game. I want to see if I can find some batting cages that are open so I can get some BP in before the next one. It does seem pretty social as theres a grill out after each game and both teams are invited. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season, my line score for this game would be something like

Tomorrow they are doing a Marvel Movie Marathon leading up to the avengers. Starting at 2:00 PM they are showing Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America and then leading into the Avengers at 12:01. $35 for all the movies and you get a free small popcorn. So yeah, guess where I am going?
My only regret? There isnt a participating AMC theater nearby. They are showing the Hulk as well, plus you can get these special 3D Glasses.

I'm glad that Samuel L Jackson finds his iPhone so useful, or maybe just the endorsement fees. I do think the commercial needs a little more realism. I dont have a problem believing he plays golf, or that he has a date night. I don't believe he mixes up how many ounces are in a cup. What I have trouble believing is that he has to make his date soup. Soup does seem to be a common theme in these commercials. He's Samuel L Jackson! If he needs to make soup for his dates, how do all the guys in the rest of the world keep up? Nah what I see it is more like this:
Sam: Hey, thanks for coming over
Date: Not a problem Mr Jackson
Sam: now why dont you run out and get me some tacos, then when you get back, take your clothes off
Date: Sure thing Sam, I mean, Mr Jacoson

So I'm in the bathroom at Captain McHappy's Fun Time Emporium and this guy comes in and is furiously scrubbing his hands. He says over to me "Damn liquid nails"
Without missing a beat I said "Well, you should have gotten acrylics"
As part of my diet strategy, I am switching to more high protein choices rather than the typical carbohydrate laden goods. This got me to thinking, I am basically declaring a war on chickens.
In the morning I will eat their young, scrambled, with a little salsa on it, and some turkey bacon, because everyone knows Turkeys are chicken sympathisers.
For lunch and dinner I will be having the adults, grilling up breasts alongside vegetables (after all, I'm a boob man, I dont eat the Cock)
So basically, I'll be taking out one chicken and four possible a day, take that chickens!
I havent blogged in a while so it was my hope that if I sat here and started typing something then information would pour out.
I dont think its going to happen.
Work is work. I could complain about my boss, but even I dont want to hear it. I'm on a dating sabbatical for a bit. Still have a a month of EMT class left, then June is studying and taking the practicals and written exam. The working out is going well, I think I am more than ready for the marathon. Planning a road trip in two weeks, I say planning but I already have everything booked. May meet a few fu's if the scheduling permits.
When you have so much happen in a year, when just regular is all that is going on it seems like life is moving at slow motion.
