aspiringwriter's blog: "Poems"

created on 12/09/2007  |  http://fubar.com/poems/b165825
This blog is a quotaion from a book im still writing. I havent finished the book yet so even this quotaion hasnt been edited, but i wanted to post it to maybe get some feedback. The story will be a tragic romance, which is not my normal genre, the blog doesnt give any details about the story. I'ts more of a philosophical view on love. "I'ts best to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all. Thats how the saying goes anyway, but I'm not sure if I agree, not completely anyway. I think it depends on the person and their experience. The saying seems kind of one sided, I think it should cover more angles, with love it's never as simple as have or have'nt loved. What if you've been in love but never been loved. Or What if you've been in love but never expressed it. Are you really wanting me to beleive that to have never felt or experiencing love is a bigger tragedy than to be in love but keep it contained. If thats the case than you've never really felt love, the power it has, it gives. As quoted from scriptures love for money is the root of all evil, but it's not money that causes the evil it's love. Love gives you the ability to save lives, but just as easily it can destroy them. Either way this is not something that is meant to be contained, and besides who would want to keep something so potentialy beautiful contained and why? With what power could you suppress such feelings? The answer is fear. Now thats a tragedy, the thought that someone would never be able to express love because of fear. So hows this for a truer statement, it's best to have loved and lost than feared to love and never expressed it at all." I hope those that read the story can relate a little more to what I've said here but there still more to consider with the my quotaion and at the end of the book I'll finish with an epiphany on love that puts a little closure on the statemnet. " You know the more I think about the saying even when worded my own way it's still a little one sided. The saying really can be adjusted to suit anybodys situation or feelings. I guess the real tragedy has less to do with your story of love, or even love itself. The real tragedy as with all tragic stories is about the lost oppotunities." Again this is a quotation from a book I'm writing, so any feedback would be appreciated.
