  Our Batallion CO at this point pulled out all the stops and began calling Psy-Ops to the point at night with their tricked-out, up-armored M-1114 Humvees....these beast would pump out 190 dBs (thats decibels,dudes) of Disturbed,Korn, and Guns N Roses.....deny the enemy the vital asset of sleep....only we didn't know at the time that this new kind of jihadist in the fight had not alot of use for sleep......these dudes DIDN'T wear the black....they wore faded jeans and real combat boots and old Soviet-era army blouses.....the majority of them had long hair pulled back in a pony-tail......and also the either had blond or red hair....These were dudes from Chechnya....a small country in Southeastern most Europe that Russia rufused to give independence. The country is almost entirely Muslum....The tiny republic decided they had enough in 1994 and took on the Russian army....The Russians suffered massive casualties during the 2 year war but flattened the entire country.....There's never really been peace since....I say all that to inform you of not only the combat experience of the fighters but also their resolve....

  During their conflict with the Russians, The Chechen rebels learned of the uses of the many forms of Amphetamine.....In fact Hitler's scientists were the inventors of methamphetamine.....soon after the discovery, the Blitzkrieg went down and 27 days later the whole of Poland was in German hands...Warriors can operate at an almost super-human level because the liablities of fatigue ,hunger,and emotion become a non-factor after that particular variable enters the equation.....Hell, ask urself how the hell were WE able to fight our way up HWY 6 from Basra to Bagdad in 23 days???.....yep....lots of speed....So the Chechen muslims had come to fight alongside their Islamic brethren and had brought sound tactics, excellent marksmanship and amphetamines.....add that to that str8 adrenaline and epinephrine the Iraqis were injecting and you got a hell of a fight on ur hands....

  We knew something was fucked-up bout haj's after the 1st fire-fight.....they were NOT going down after being hit multiple times center mass.....they kept coming....And it wasn't a few isolated instances....Time after time insurgents would either get hit by multiple rounds of 5.56 from our fuggin' pea-shooters and keep on their merrry way or would take a more kinetic round from an M-60 or an M-14 and go down but be up and hobbling off in an instant." What the FUCK??....You see that shit??".......Only guarenteed take down was rounds in the "Terminal T"...thats the visualized figure of the letter T on a targets face...top of the T from eye to eye, the cross section from between the eyes to just above the Adam's Apple. A shot here would cause all life-operating functions of the brain to cease...drop em like rock.

 The evidence of the rumors that we were engaging geek monsters with nothing to lose and martyrdom their goal came after clearing a few blocks in the Jolan sector....and by "clearing" I mean fighting every inch of the way....under constant incoming small arms(AK-47) fire with RPGs spiraling wildly in every direction and 87mm mortar rounds every few minutes....We stayed buttoned up in the M-1114s and amtrac's down the main roads and avenues but had to dismount and clear each and every structure along our route. We'd use a bounding manuver with each row of buildings we encountered....the 2 lead gun trucks would take up positions bout 100 yards ahead covering our forward and 2 more would set up at 50 yards taking the roof tops. 2 squads would barrell in tracs and HmVEEs n stagger positions ....1 squad taking the middle structure on the left the other squad the one on the right....One squad would be in reserve for not IF...but WHEN the shit hit the fan....We dismount 20 yards from targets and sprint to the outside wall...each squad has a breach team that either blasts the lock with shotguns, blows it using directional charges, or busts it down using the ram....Once every member of the clear team is stacked up on the wall , the man at the rear puts his left hand on the shoulder of the warrior in front of him,he in turn will put a piece of himself in physical contact with the in front of HIM,and so on n on til the point man feels HIS #2 and then the breach is executed. That bit of contact serves 2 purposes:1st) It gives the cue to each operator that their ass is covered n the unit is ready and 2nd) Don;t know what it is,but that ACTUAL contact is comforting and assuring....Ya gotta remember that we're goin' into unknown situations totally blind and having a brother that close is motivation to stay focused,alert and hit what the fuck you shoot at.So, from gun trucks rollin' in to the order to breach is bout 12-15 seconds...seriously...its gotta be LIGHTNING fast. Breach is made 3 or 4 flash-bangs are thrown in and the point men on either side of the entryway jam their left ear hard onto the shoulder pad of their body armor and squeeze their left eye shut to protect their sight and hearing cause when those bitches go off theres a nauseatingly LOUD bang and a blinding flash....Milliseconds after detonation the point man swings his weapon into the entry,scanning,ALWAYS scanning...odd men scan right, even men left...#1,#2...yada...you get it.....The  doors inside are ALWAYS bypassed by the 1 n 2 men...their job is to go from front to back engaging threats and then set up security. The 1st door is taken by 345 men. yea....ad nauseum.....you get the idea.
