A Man Is No One's blog: "Rants"

So I'm sitting here tonight and a dear friend of mine messages me and tells me how this guy messaged her calling her a bitch and a c@#! and all this other vulgar shit just because he decided to take offense to the fact that she already had a boyfriend. What the fuck is the matter with some people on the internet? Somehow some people have got it into their heads that they can get on the internet and be complete assholes just because they don't have to face the person at the other end. I can not count the times I've heard female friends tell me about how the first thing out of a guys mouth on the net is "Hey, you got a cam?" or "I'm so masterbating to your pics right now" or some other such nonsense. If you are reading this and you happen to be one of those guys, all I have to say to you is GROW THE FUCK UP! I don't understand how people can lose touch with reality the second they get on the net. But I suppose I'm probably refering to the same people I've already ranted about before, those who feel the need to create fake identities for themselves in order to interact on the net. And as I've already ranted, the net should foster an environment that is easier to be yourself, not harder. So why is it that so many guys seem to think its ok to get on here and make vulgar disgusting comments to women (or women to men, as I had the shock to experience once not too long ago)? Are they that depraved in actual society? I should hope not, for all our sakes, or else we all walk among the next Ted Bundy's or serial rapist. Yes, I do refer to these online jackasses in the same reference, because to my mind they are serial cyber-rapists, raping the decent environnment that should be all of our right to enjoy. If you don't agree, that is surely your right. If you feel like I do, that is your right too and you are free to share this blog however. I just hope that sensibility eventually takes hold and people realize that, despite the impersonal interface we use (computers), there are real live people with feelings at the other end who deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. 'Nuff said
