A Man Is No One's blog: "Rants"

Is it just me or does a disproportionate amount of roadkill these days happen to be skunks? I must have passed 7 or 8 of them today. Pungent, stinking messes that make you nose burn as you drive by. So I started wondering why skunks make up such a high percentage of roadkill and what I came up with is this: They are suicidal. It has finally come to the point where even the skunks can no longer stand their own stench, and in fits of misery and dispair they are hurtling themselves into traffic in unprecedented numbers. Sound far=fetched? Perhaps, but answer me this: When is the last time anyone saw Pepe LePew? I think all of his unrequited love affairs, all failures do to his overpowering B.O., have finally driven him to place that white hankerchief across his eyes, light a cigarette, and step in front of the tractor trailer travelling 65mph. One can only hope that, at the rate they are going, the skunk species will exterminate themselves soon and save us from having to roll down our windows gasping for air.
