"Phone Call"
It's amazing the differance a phone call can make,
and how much it causes your lifestyle to change.
This time it's a guy and he wanted to say
" I really like you, can we go on a date?"
You knew he was cute and he seemed real nice,
so you agreed to go out friday night.
The relationship goes well and he asks for a bride,
it started with a phone call and now your his wife.
It's amazing the differance that phone call has made,
you couldn't be happier and you life's going great,
you've gotten real comfortable, you want nothing to change,
but when you least expected it the telephone rang.
This time it's the doctor he's calling with news
to congratulate you cause your eating for two.
A tear starts to form and your jaw hits the floor,
you'r husband is happier than hes ever been before.
But you don't have much money, it's not that you're poor,
But your husband knows he needs to make more.
So while he's looking for jobs and you're picking out names,
yet agian you think about the changes you made.
Now he's working two jobs while you're sitting at home,
your kids are there but you still feel alone.
When again you hear the ring of your phone.
But this conversation won't go all to well,
like a sixth sense you can already tell.
You dont want to answer it so you take your time.
Hoping that someone else will pick up the line.
Before you get to it your sister is there,
she answers the phone and you look at her scared.
The conversation is bad it's just as you feared,
then she says the words you never wanted to hear.
the color drains from her face as she stands real still
She says " I'm sorry but your husbands been killed"
Now you're alone and you lost your kids,
your feeling like there's no reason to live,
and you thinking about all the changes you made,
all because that telephone rang.
But you still have your life and an oppurtunity
to make something of yourself and I gaurantee
that if you wait long enough the new phone will ring,
oh the difference that phone call could bring.
