First of all i dont use the word lightly. love is not meant to be understood and you sure as hell cant help who you love. i have had my heart ripped out of my chest more times than i can count whether it be by friends, family or significant other but i still continuously wear my heart on my sleeve and go into every situation with an open heart and mind. when i love i love deep passionately and whole heartedly. I hold them above myself time and time again. i make sure they are taken care of before i am. i go out of my way to help if i can and i do as much as i can to make them feel wanted and needed. i try my best to let them know they are my heart. i dont lie to anyone and i have even given my home and the shirt off my back to people i have loved and cared about because they needed it more than i did. thats just who i am and thats because i know what its like to have absolutely nothing and absolutely no one to care or listen to your problems or even try to hold your head above water if you cant on your own. love is exactly that putting others needs and happiness above your own. you dont kick someone you love when they are down instead you try to help them back up. love isnt an emotion you can just flip on and off like a switch. its not a feeling that goes away over night. if it does then it was never truly there to begin with. especially if its your significant other because your other half should be just that. your other half. your moon and stars at night and your sun during the day. your best friend. the one who has your back more than anyone and is willing to fight tooth and nail to keep the relationship alive and the flame going. love takes both sides to be patient and understanding not just one side. love takes both sides to compromise and meet in the middle. it takes equal effort. love is letting each other into the very darkest depths of your soul and being able to accept each other 100% for all of your demons and flaws. you dont get with someone to change who they are as a person. you get with them because you like who they are as a person and they compliment your life. if you try to change who they are then why even be with them? if you arent going to even begin to try and understand them as a person as a whole and accept them for who they are flaws and all then how can you say you love them? and what are you truly helping if all you can do is point out their flaws or their mistakes. if you can wallk away from them for the most menial fucking things then how can you honestly say they matter to you and you love them? love isnt always perfect but niether is anyone on this earth. so if you have each other to unpack all the baggage and sort through it plus get through the day and help each other through all the ups and downs then thats all that matters. regardless of whatever trials and tribulations you guys go through day to day, if at the end of the day you still want nothing more than to hold each other and lay down together and fall asleep then thats whats fucking matters.. everything else is simply water under the bridge or brush in ur path. if you truly love your loved one and regardless of what it was that you did to hurt their feelings and they still only want you and want nothing more than to be with you and hold you then you should hold onto that because its very rare you actually come across people who will love you whole heartedly and unconditionally.
