This is outside of my back patio taken today.
The good thing about living on the edge of the Hill Country in Austin is all of the hills; the bad thing about living on the edge of the Hill Country in Austin is all of the hills!!
LOL...
I have loved living in the hilly regions of Austin and near Lake Travis for many, many years; however, when icy conditions exist, it causes lots of problems.
I was supposed to have worked an overnight shift tonight. The weather was also supposed to clear up as well, but it hasn't yet. The conditions of the roads are completely awful -- especially the bridges I would have to cross either by Loop 360 or Mansfield Dam. They have claimed that both bridges are very difficult to manuever and advisories have been sent out to avoid driving on them whatsoever.
The problem is that those bridges cut off my ability to get to where I am heading towards. They are also discouraging traveling on the hills if at all possible. Unfortunately, everywhere I drive is full of hills.
Dang!!
Called into work and told them that they are claiming the bridges are impassible and made sure that they knew that I would be there, if I could figure out how to get there. They know. The coordinator in charge appreciated the fact that I have even offered to come in early.
Okay.....
I have already added some more pictures of myself and my kitties to the photos section of CT. How else am I to entertain myself tonight????? Going a little stir crazy in my own home, although I do have a lot I could be doing!!
Thankfully, I do have the luxury of heat as more than 6000 homes have been without electricity since early this morning. I am so grateful for that.
Prayers to all that everyone is safe and warm tonight.
