DJ RULES • 1. There must be respect shown among all the DJs to each other and to all management and staff at all times, including, but not limited to, bashing of any song(s) a DJ plays. If you have an issue on a song or type of music just turn your sound down or mute the player. Please do not voice your dislike in the lounge! We all have our own opinions and taste in music. If you don't feel you can control yourself then just leave the lounge and come back another time. • 2. Any conflicts between DJs needs to be kept to IMS and never be addressed in the lounge. We are all adults here and should make every effort to settle any disputes between each other maturely and respectfully, however, if you feel it necessary, it may be discussed with a manager present in a private conversation, i.e. conference. Please remember each person holds their personality in their soul and as in any work environment we must learn to deal with that in others - we do not want to lose any DJ over some petty misunderstandings as can often happen in chat. If the incident is not taken to IM and continues in the lounge, both parties will be booted from the lounge and warned - ONCE. If either party has another incident, that party will be let go from the station. • 3. All DJs need to show up and be ready to take air AT LEAST 15 minutes prior to the beginning of their shifts and you must let the DJ on the air know you are here! (You can check who is on the station by looking at the lounge player - that will show you who is on air. It is your responsibility to let them know you are here, they should not have to track you down. If a DJ does not show up for their shift, the DJ on air may continue on the air if desired and/or able to. If that DJ is unable or doesn't want to continue on air, please get in touch with one of the managers and we will find someone to take over for you. • 4. A DJ should contact the station management at least 2 hrs (if humanly possible) before their scheduled time if they are not able to do their shift. • 5. DJs may switch or trade times with each other as a trade off as long as both agree, of course. Please let a manager know of this shift change. Any permanent changes to your schedule must be made through and agreed on by station management. • 6. All DJs need to have yahoo messenger as that is used to pass the station to each other and for requests outside of Fubar. Please notify a manager ASAP of any change in your yahoo messenger screen name. Also please use yahoo for messages to managers or other DJs as usually it is the most reliable way to do so. • 7. No DJ may be working at another station at the same time they are DJing here. Your total commitment is expected with our station. • 8. All DJs must give a warning of any lyrics that could offend or be found to be offensive to some listeners. Make sure all disclosures and "Adult Content" warnings are played at the start of your show and again once each hour of your air time. Remember to be respectful to ALL of your listeners and there may be children listening. • 9. Above all else, please do not become obsessed over the amount of listeners you might have at any given time. Peoples real lives and schedules are very important and things come up - Holidays, illness, company at home, all types of things. The MAIN thing here is to HAVE FUN!!!! Be it one listener or 100, just be the same wonderful DJs you are. Thank you for being a big part of the radio station and a vital part of our staff. Each and every one of you is very appreciated for the hard work and the voluntary time and dedication!! DJ REQUIREMENTS * You MUST be willing to have fun! * You must have some music, at least 500 songs, before we can put you on the air. * We Are Exclusive - Our DJ's cannot DJ for another station and here at the same time. * If you would like to DJ here and you are with another station you must leave there before we will work with you. * ALL DJ's MUST tag their music and clean up the names to look professional...we will help you with this if you don't know how. (see examples below) * In the radio world you can never have too many DJ's, so we are always willing to add qualified DJ's to our staff...if for nothing else but as back-ups and fill-in DJ's until we have open shifts. Here is what you need: • 1. At least 500 songs to start training with, and we would like for you to have at least 2,000+ clean and properly tagged songs at the time you become a full DJ. • 2. The willingness to have FUN and be a team player...we WILL NOT put up with any drama here and if you have personal issues that will affect your abilites to perform professionally, be on time for your shifts and/or cause the station any grief whatsoever, we cannot use you and will not hire you - period! • 3. Did I mention we are here to have fun? Good...I can't say that enough! There is no room for anyone's inflated ego here - LEAVE IT AT THE DOOR or don't bother applying for a DJ position with us. • 4. You must have Yahoo Messenger installed on your computer...this is our main source of communication between staff members. Other IM programs are fine if you have them, but they are not required.
